End Game Build

Updated on April 16, 2016

Laceration Blood Spawn Parse in ESO Thieves GuildTo make a high damage producing Mag DK for Dungeons, solo questing and Trials.  The goal is to be able to do damage, survive independent of a healer while questing and complete any PvE content minus hard mode Maw.  Before you play this, I’d like to point out some of it’s strengths and weakness.

+ A lot of damage, single target and AoE

+ Great self healing for a magicka build

+ Group utility with buffs and debuffs that help the party

– Difficult to play with many DoTs in the rotation

– Harder to manage resources then other builds that requires experience and group play

This build sacrifices self sustaining resource buffs and healing for more damage.  However you still can heal and survive independent of your healer.  I just warn you, this is NOT easy to play.  A simpler version that still does effective damage is my Maelstrom Build below.  But if you’re looking to push you DPS as high as it can go, this is for you.

Laceration PvE Skills for Thieves Guild

Bar One – Destruction Staff – Meant for single target fights with heavy DoTs.

  1. Inner Light (morph of Magelight | Mages Guild skill line) – This is one way to get our Major Prophecy of Spell Critical buff.  We put this on the front single target bar for more max magicka, while the DoT from Flames of Oblivion (FoO) remains on our back since it can be toggled on.  If it’s easier to have FoO on both or up front on the single target bar swap it, just make sure you use both somewhat like this.
  2. Molten Whip (morph of Lava Whip | Ardent Flame skill line) – Our main single target spammable ability “whip and dip.”  The good news, it does a lot of damage, can be animation canceled fairly easily and boost our Ardent Flame spell damage.  The bad is that it’s range is 8 meters and can be a pain to use in specific boss related fights.  You can swap this out for the ability below, just know you won’t have optimum damage in comparison, though it’ll be a lot easier for say Lord Warden fight.
    1. Force Pulse (morph of Force Shock | Destruction Staff skill line) – A great skill with the same cost as Whip plus 28 meter range.  No it doesn’t hit as hard, but with Elemental Drain up and if you use Nerien’eth’s two piece, this thing can do lethal damage.  Flex this in and out depending on the fight.
  1. Burning Embers (morph of Searing Strike | Ardent Flame skill line) – A powerful DoT with a heal to boot.  This isn’t our most damage producing DoT but it does help out our self healing.  Make sure to swipe a target and re-swipe if you’re in trouble for a major self heal.  If the target dies after you’ve swiped it, you’ll get the heal anyways so SWIPE YOUR FACE OFF!
  2. Elemental Blockade (morph of Wall of Elements | Destruction Staff skill line) – A strong single target and AoE damage ability that is in front of you in a long rectangle.  The duration is low around 8 seconds but it’s a pure don’t and should be kept up near all the time.  Usually I open with this or Engulfing Flame then go into a AoE or single target rotation.  Consider it a priority especially for weaving in medium attacks.
  3. Elemental Drain (morph of Weakness to Elements | Destruction Staff skill line) – A huge boost to our sustained but tricky to use.  Don’t just cast this on a mob that will die in one second.  Try to keep this up on a mini boss or a full boss.
    1. Molten Armaments (morph of Molten Weapons | Earthen Heart Skill line) -Keep in mind another player can run Elemental Drain to free up a spot on your bar (typically a healer).  If that’s the case swap Molten in if you don’t want to rely on Spell Power / Detect magicka potions.  Some other options are Harness Magicka for spell protection or Igneous Shields for extra healing.

[Ultimate] Standard of Might (morph of Dragonknight Standard | Ardent Flame skill line) – 20% more damage, 20% damage reduction from mobs while inside the “Banner” plus a DoT.  It’s the singular best ultimate for damage in the game. It has a hefty 250 ultimate cost so    memorizing the round in which you need this will be important.  When in doubt, drop a Banner and nuke stuff.  Out of resources?  Drop a Banner and nuke stuff.

Bar Two – AoE and pre-fight buff bar.

  1. Flames of Oblivion (morph of Inferno | Ardent Flame skill line) – I put this on the back bar only since the extra magicka from Inner Light only comes from the bar we place it on.  Since this gives the crit bonus WITH the added benefit of a monster DoT, I put it back here and re-cast every 15 seconds.  In some parses, this was the most damage producing skill in my rotation.  Make sure it’s up at all times though it can be hard managing what seems like a million DoTs.
  2. Proximity Detention (morph of Magic Detention | Alliance War skill line) – Massive single target and AoE damage 8 seconds are it’s been casted.  The way I use this is casting it roughly four seconds before the round starts.  That way once the mobs appear, run close it’ll go off.  Try to recast it with other buffs here and there and you’ll have no problem with AoE.
  3. FLEX – Engulfing Flame (morph of Fiery Breath | Ardent Flame skill line) – A decent DoT but something that increases damage with our flame attacks which adds up to a lot as well!  You can also get this benefit from another Dragonknight as well so feel free to swap it out for even more damage.
    1. Eruption (morph of Ash Cloud | Earthen Heart skill line) – This sucker still does a ton of damage, it’s ranged and has a very long duration.  The downside it’s not mobile at all and a lot of mobs tend to move out of it.  I prefer Engulfing for mobile fights and for the buff, but this will produce more damage in a stationary fight single target or AoE.
  4. Elemental Ring (morph of Impulse | Destruction Staff skill line) – Our spammable AoE attack that hits very hard but only has a six meter range.  I’ve tried DPS’ing without this skill just using a series of DoTs but didn’t find it effective.  This ability along with Elemental Blockade has the added benefit of returning resources to use if you get the killing blow with this skill.  Even more of a reason to spam it once our DoTs are up.
  5. Draw Essence (morph of Inhale | Draconic Power skill line) – I LOVE THIS ABILITY!  It’s considered a DoT since it blows up after three seconds, but the suck in phase is where we get monster healing from.  In tough AoE situations where I’m getting focused, I literally just hold block and spam it similar to Sap Essence Nightblade.  However, you want the duration to go off and try to pair it with Proxy Det for a truly spectacular explosion.
    1. Eruption (morph of Ash Cloud | Earthen Heart skill line) – Another place Eruption can go if you the absolute most single target damage possible.

[Ultimate] Dawnbreaker of Smiting (morph of Dawnbreaker | Fighters Guild skill line) – Another underrated ability that is useful in nearly every single dungeon or content in the game.  A lot of encounters you’ll face Daedra and even if you don’t this low cost ultimate hits very hard and can save your life with Battle Roar (resource return on ultimate).  It also stuns mobs as well which can increase specific builds damage with Exploiter passive in Ritual tree.

  1. On bar two, fire up Proxy Det and FoO and bar swap
  2. Elemental Drain the highest HP mob or boss as you close the distance
  3. Bar swap and Engufling Flames one or more mobs for extra fire damage

AoE Situations

  1. I hit Draw Essence so my both it and my Proxy will go off
  2. Recast both and continue to spam Elemental Ring
  3. Recast Engulfing Flames if the mobs are still alive and keep casting Draw Essence twice then Proxy

Single Target Situations

  1. Swipe to get heal/DoT started
  2. Start whipping then reapply DoTs in priority order

  1. Elemental Blockade is my priority since it’s AoE, single target and can return magicka on kills
  2. FoO second as it can out parse Blockade sometimes and hits very hard
  3. Engufling Flame for extra fire damage, though the DoT itself isn’t that strong
  4. Burning Embers for healing and more DoT damage
  5. Elemental Ring if you want to have yet another DoT to maintain

While you’re cycling through DoTs, continue to do whips in between or when everything is up.  It’s challenging to always maintain all these DoTs so don’t get frustrated if it doesn’t come natural.  I struggle at it to this day.  When in doubt, maintain FoO, Blockade and Burning Embers and you’ll do just fine with your DPS.

Laceration Gear Chart for Thieves Guild UpdateLaceration Gear Picture for Thieves Guild updateOption One

  • Valkyn Skoria – You can obtain helm from last boss in Veteran City of Ash and the shoulder from Undaunted Pledge gold/silver keys.  I still love Skoria even though there’s some debate as to this or Nerie’enth for best damage.  I still like Skoria because it’s mobile and once a meteor is cast, it will hit the target.  It also has great AoE as well and man does it look cool 🙂
  • Law of Julianos – Craftable in Orsinium and what I consider the best DPS set that easy to get a hold of.  You can also run Kagernac’s for more sustained, Twice Born Star for bigger critical hits or another combination.
    • NOTE: Scathing Mage is better but VERY hard to come by.  I’ve ran vICP probably 200+ times and I deconstructed my first set since it wasn’t good at the time.  Now that it’s buffed, it’s an utter MONSTER so if you have it, try Scathing for ultimate amount of damage.
  • Maelstrom Weapons – These weapons do make a big difference but it’s still vital to run Elemental Blockade if you don’t have them.  You can still be successful with option two as DPS.
  • Willpower Jewelry – A go to DPS set of jewelry for all around max damage.

Option Two

  • 4/4 Overwhelming (from White Gold Tower) and Magnus with a Nirnhoned Staff.  This four and four piece combo works just fine until you get the necessary equipment.  You can even down 5 Julianos and three Torug’s Pact or Magnus either way you won’t be completely ineffective just because you’re missing the staff.  After all, that’s what I had to use in order to get the staff in the first place.

Mundus, Race and Consumables

RACE – #1 Dunmer, hands down no comparison.  Anything else is secondary, High Elf, Breton but anything can work.  “If you ask will X race work with this build?”  My answer will be yes, just not as good.  If you like this style play it, even as a Khajiit.

FOOD – Bi-Stat health and magicka for max stats.

CONSUMABLES – I carry Spell Power Potions for the spell power buff if no one is running Molten Weapons and I use them on cool down.  If you have that, keep using the normal VR15 ones ON COOL DOWN (every 45 seconds).  Remember that it gives you regeneration bonus on top of the flood of resources.

MUNDUS – I still feel Thief is the single best mundus in PvE.  I’m sure some math cat out their will prove me wrong, but all divines plus monster crit on a DoT build just makes sense to me.

Blood Spawn – Rare drop from Spindleclutch boss (Helm) shoulders are from Undaunted pledges via gold keys.

  • Alternatives – Engine Guardian two set piece is a great substitute or even Mephala’s for extra healing received. If you can’t obtain undaunted gear, try for anything with extra resources (especially stamina recovery).

Warlock – Extremely rare drops (rings) and can be purchased via guild traders.

Way of Arena – Eight trait craft able set in Lower Craglorn.

  • Alternatives -This gear isn’t very offensive, but you can craft Willow’s Path with less traits and get 15% more regeneration or go with Magnus ‘four piece for more damage.

Maelstrom Laceration

Updated as of April 14, 2016

I wanted an self-sustaining solo Dragonknight build that could produce high Veteran Maelstrom Arena scores, capable of No-Death and fun.  This build sacrifices some DPS for various survival skills but is capable of hitting the 500k+ score, and with fine tuning even higher.  If you’re looking for a specific VMA DK build or something that can handle end-game solo, this is it.

Thieves Guild Laceration Skills

Bar One – Fire Destruction Staff (damage)

  1. Flames of Oblivion (morph of Inferno | Ardent Flame skill line) – I now use this instead of the Mages Guild “Inner Light.”  It gives us our major crit and comes with the benefit of a 15 second DoT ability.  The key to using this is cast at the begin of the round and not over casting it.  If you have three seconds left and there’s one mob alive, don’t recast.  If you have another wave and two seconds up, use it.  The amount of single target damage this does is staggering, a must have now.
  2. Force Pulse (morph of Force Shock | Destruction Staff skill line) – This is our ranged AoE and single target spammable attack.  I swap in and out Flame Lash depending on the round and situation.  Range is very useful in the arena.  Keep in mind if you apply the “Burning Effect” (with Burning Embers) prior to use, you get the added benefit of AoE to near by enemies.  The range is very useful and hard to pass up.
  3. Burning Embers (morph of Searing Strike | Ardent Flame skill line) – A powerful DoT with a heal to boot.  Try to swipe each target nearby (5 meters) and recast if you need an instant heal.  If you’re getting hammered hard, you can literally spam cast this and survive most rounds.  It heals that well.
  4. Elemental Blockade (morph of Wall of Elements | Destruction Staff skill line) – A strong single target and AoE damage ability that is in front of you in a long rectangle.  The nice thing is you, cast this prior to the round starting (when you see glowing teleporters) and you’ll just nuke the mob in 1 second.  Don’t spam cast it, let them burn inside it.  If they die because of WoE, you get a flood of resources back too!
  5. Elemental Drain (morph of Weakness to Elements | Destruction Staff skill line) – A huge boost to our sustained but tricky to use.  Don’t just cast this on a mob that will die in one second.  Try to keep this up on a mini boss or a full boss.  It really helps with resources especially if we are saving a Standard of Might (Banner) for a later boss.

Bar Two – Restoration Staff (buffs and healing)

  2. Dragon Fire Scales (morph of Reflective Scales | Draconic Power skill line) – A reflect that is super useful in almost all stages/rounds.  It’s only four seconds of reflection and four seconds so try to optimize the time to cast this.  A good example of this is early Stage 3 where you get attacked by tons of ranged targets.  I’ll cast this only once right after the mobs appear and usually that’s enough to kill them or something else.
  3. Rapid Regeneration (morph of Regeneration | Restoration Staff skill line) – A powerful heal over time that helps with our healing needs.  Plus it has the added benefit of giving us magic back on critical hits if you have the VMA Staff.  It’s roughly 2k heals per second which helps our greatly during all stages.  I must have IMO regardless if you have the staff or not.
  4. Harness Magicka (morph of Annulment | Light Armor skill line) – Absorbs magic damage and turns it into resources.  Don’t over cast this either, you want the duration to elapse or it to be consumed.  You get more magicka then it cost if you play it correctly and it will shield you from poison, fire, ice tons of stuff in almost every round.  Consider this a flex spot if  you want more CC for Fossilizes.
  5. Healing Ward (morph of Steadfast Ward | Healing Staff skill line) – A powerful ward that is used to prevent death when below 35% health.  It’s kind of like a Breath of Life for solo play but comes with a hefty magicka cost.  Don’t use this when above say 70% let your HoTs and Burning Embers heal you. Do it when your health drops fast and reapply your buffs and heal.  Note, I do use Combat Pray when going for a high score due to the amount of damage it gives.

[Ultimate] Dawnbreaker of Smiting (morph of Dawnbreaker | Fighters Guild skill line) – A super useful ultimate with a very low cost.  A lot of the rounds are Undead and Daedra and this can stun them and usually insta-kill most mobs.  Plus it gives us resources if we run out in between 250 Banner cost.  Try it, you’ll love it.

Pre Fight Buffs

Makes sure to go through this cycle prior to the fight or another spawn, this will drastically improve performance.

  1. VR15 Spell Power Potion (47 seconds duration)
  2. Harness Magicka (24 second duration)
  3. Rapid Regeneration (16.5 second duration)
  4. Proxy Det (8 seconds)
  5. Flames of Oblivion RIGHT as the portals appear (15 seconds duration)
  6. Elemental Blockade just before the mob spawns

From here I go into a rotation of damage/buffs, every spawn I make sure to keep up Harness, Rapid Regen, and Proxy if multiple mobs.  Practice practice practice doing this until it’s auto pilot and it will become natural.

Damage Phase

  1. Burning Embers right away so i can swipe heal if needed later on.
  2. Force Pulse until you need to reapply buffs.
  3. Elemental Blockade
  4. FoO
  5. Proxy
  6. Repeat

Laceration VMA Gear Chart for Thieves Guild UpdateLaceration Maelstrom Gear Picture

Option 1

  • Engine Guardian – Shoulders obtained via Undaunted Pledges and helm can be found in Darkshade Cavern. I use this on a lot of builds because it works for my playstyle.  I run zero regen and combed with ultimates, I don’t run out of magicka.  Plus the extra healing and stamina is great for no death Maelstrom attempts.   For ultra damage, I switch to Valkyn Skoria and even the Lich set can be nice.
  • Maelstrom Weapons – Don’t freak out if you don’t have VMA weapons, you can always just use a crafted Fire Nirnhoned and a precise Restoration and do just fine.  It does make a difference once you get it so something to look forward to.
  • Julianos – I like this better than TBS on my DK due to the way our critical passives work, especially in solo play. It can be crafted in Orsinium south and is easy to get.

Option 2

  • Engine Guardian – Shoulders obtained via Undaunted Pledges and helm can be found in Darkshade Cavern.  Substitute would be something with magicka regeneration or Bloodspawn for more ultimate.
  • Twice Born Star – The best DPS set period.  If you like to do PvP, or swap mundus stones a good substitute is Julianos.  I’ve tested both with legendary gear, and TBS out preforms it hands down.
  • Willpower -Part of the Imperial City DLC and a great three piece set.  Now some other jewelry pieces are out in Orsinium though I still prefer this setup.

      No not with this setup.

Are you a vampire for this build

  2. Stumkrav on April 5, 2015 at 6:27 pm

Deltia, how about Champion points? What will be a good choice?

    • Deltia on April 6, 2015 at 2:26 pm

Well I don’t want to include those in leveling builds since most players won’t have them. But the usual suspects and my first video I talked about it.

  3. total karnage on April 5, 2015 at 6:57 pm

When’s the omega templar coming. Just hit lvl 15 and not clue where to go xD

Awesome! Thanks :). Really liking it. Got me started ESO with all your videos. From the add ons to let key bindings.

        Quick question.

How to you have such a big ultimate and ready pop up on your screen?

Off-topic: have you thought about making an app à la ESO tools? With your dedication I’m pretty sure you could make a lot of money off of it.

    • Deltia on April 6, 2015 at 2:28 pm

I don’t know what that is.

  5. Emperors Champion on April 6, 2015 at 3:58 pm

    Hi Deltia

Hey just a few comments on the build.
For a DK I feel that Sea of Flames is much better than Mage Light.
The main reason is that you get
    1) free, passive damage from the procs- and they are always proc’cing
    2) you get a huge boost to spell crit
    3) you reap back magika

The DK is a very, very unique class in that ZoS gave this class abilities that no other class either gets, or if they do its a few skills. The DK really has every thing to cover every type of power out there.
Hence, by taking Sea of Flames you pretty much get what mage light offers as well as the added bonus of free damage.

All the +mage guild passives IMO dont outweigh the passives that DKs get coupled with all the benefits listed above for SoF vs ML.

    Anyhow thats my 2cents=P

Also….. Am i seeing that you have leveled to 50 in a few days =(

  6. Rottley on April 6, 2015 at 4:29 pm

Hey Deltia how much for the stamina sorceror build aka “Ricochet”??
I had the same idea of character and i want to know what skills u consider to lvl up. I think archer sorceror build had potential

    • Deltia on April 8, 2015 at 7:51 pm

Well as much as possible after I reach health threshold.

  7. Stumkrav on April 7, 2015 at 12:22 am

This must be one of the best guides. You explained what’s suites better in every level/momentum.

    Thanks for that!

  8. Vakat on April 7, 2015 at 3:17 am

Hi deltia, fairly new here, plan on following this guide with my new dragon knight while I play with my girlfriend and her brother, so anyway, you say that the arena set is craftable, how can I learn to craft that?

    • Deltia on April 8, 2015 at 7:54 pm

      You deconstruct armor with traits.

  9. Meth on April 8, 2015 at 12:53 pm

I have a level 27 Dunmer DK right now that I’ve been using 2H/DW on. I think I want to use this leveling strategy. Should I just throw a sword and board skill on my leveling bar and continue on until I have what I need? Should I respec the DK? Should I start over? My ultimate goal is to go tank (although, to be honest, I saw your YouTube vid with your nightblade tank and I really like the idea of NB tanking…)

    • Deltia on April 8, 2015 at 8:00 pm

Don’t start over, you can make a beast Dunmer tank. Just put Sword and Board on and level the skill line.

      • Meth on April 8, 2015 at 8:55 pm

I realize they’re very different, but which do you recommend between the DK tank and the NB tank (I’m talking from the perspective of fun and viability).

        • Deltia on April 9, 2015 at 1:40 pm

Well I love my DK tank but NB is fun right now.

  10. Hamatsu on April 8, 2015 at 9:30 pm

I tried a magicka build with my VR2 Imperial DK and my damage feels really low.
I did a public dungeon together with a Dunmer DK also VR2 and he killed enemies with 3 attacks where it takes me 5-6.

I got all magicka glyphs on my equip using 5 heavy 2 light armor with all passives for heavy/light and sword n board.

I use lava whip, charge, green dragonblood, dark talons and searing strikes with stamina morph to use my stamina for some dmg and spare my magicka.

Does Dark Elf make such big difference in magicka damage from its passives?

Can you give me some advice how to get this build going?

If the difference between Dark Elf and Imperial on such build is worth leveling a Dark Elf DK i wont bother doing that.

    • Deltia on April 9, 2015 at 1:40 pm

Well this build is for PvP and leveling. Being able to kill anything while slow. Just go Destruction staff on your back bar to burn everything down.

      • Hamatsu on April 9, 2015 at 5:14 pm

Ok if i get you right its not a must to be a Dark Elf for this kind of builds to work.

Thx i will try destro staff on 2nd bar and stay sword n board for world bosses and other elite.

Dont get me wrong the way i play atm works its just slow.

I will try pvp with it i think it will be ok as i dont have a big problem in surviving so i will let em burn down slowly 🙂

I just thought the missing damage from Dark Elf passives would make this build much more powerful

  11. Kulden on April 8, 2015 at 10:50 pm

With this build what is the recommended way of leveling? Is grinding still the fastest, or is questing better since 2.0?

    • Deltia on April 9, 2015 at 1:41 pm

Just do main quest, dolmens, delves and world bosses.

  12. Avron Ramarys on April 10, 2015 at 5:16 pm

A truly informative, well-communicated guide every baby dragonknight should watch/read. Outstanding work….

I noticed in the continuation of the Laceration DK Leveling series, you have gone back to using a restoration staff on your back bar. For expediency, would you recommend I stick with a restoration staff while leveling or juggle restoration & destruction staves?

    • Deltia on April 10, 2015 at 7:37 pm

Leveling just go destro staff and nuke everything in 2 seconds.

  13. Henry on April 11, 2015 at 9:51 pm

I leveled my Dragon knight according to your bloody butcher build, but dual wield and two-handed doesn’t work very very in PVP compare to your build here.
Sword and shield is much more effective in pvp, i think. I’m at lv40, is it possible for me to master a 3rd weapon skill? Or there is another way for dual wield and two-handed to shine in PVP?

    • Deltia on April 13, 2015 at 9:11 pm

Yes but you can’t have three bars equipped.

  14. Knarley on April 14, 2015 at 4:33 am

Love the guide! Would be really nice to see the skill order for us new players. And also, where do you put your attribute points?

    • Deltia on April 14, 2015 at 7:17 pm

Magicka and the video I talk about skills.

  15. Knarley on April 15, 2015 at 12:06 am

I was looking around in the comments and for some you replied with Health, does it depend on something?
Also, I’m extremely new after only playing a couple days now and I’m not sure which skills to take in what order. In the video, it looks like you only talk about what you should have by level 25.

    • Deltia on April 15, 2015 at 11:43 am

I changed after I reached higher levels. That’s why generally I don’t answer those question because attributes have little relevance and I change them all the time. Check out my attributes video.

  16. Yahbe on April 15, 2015 at 12:25 am

Where is a good place for v1 to go and any builds for V1-v14 builds? With this build in Cyrodiil as v1 im getting one shot killed and everyone is v14.. I’m still new to the game playing on Ebonheart and i’ve been lost since i got to v1

    • Deltia on April 15, 2015 at 11:44 am

      I play around in Craglorn.

  17. germk4 on April 17, 2015 at 6:04 am

Im very new to the game, a guildie suggested this video, looks awesome but i prefer PvE would u suggest this for a PvE only build? Also how should I allocate my attribute points as I level. Thanks for sharing this is very helpful for new players like myself.

    • Deltia on April 18, 2015 at 6:15 pm

Once I reach end game I will have a PvP setup.

      • Berchn on July 1, 2015 at 7:59 am

Would you join the Cyrodiil before reaching v1 with your Laceration or other builds that you used to play?
Is there any build that can do good for both Non-V-pvp and V-pvp?

Another question is that all of my friends are playing in AD and I wanna switch to DK role from NB, but I dont have adventure pack in order to send a Dummer to the AD. Is there any second best race for a Laceration DK for AD player? Or hell yeah just leave my friend and explore new things? Lol

Thanks Deltia for all your builds and replies!!

        • Deltia on July 1, 2015 at 10:33 pm

Yes, yes (Laceration). For the DK I’d probably go with Imperial second.

  18. Matt on April 18, 2015 at 1:09 am

Hey Deltia quick question, where would you recommend putting champion points for this build?

    • Deltia on April 18, 2015 at 6:13 pm

Get 30 points for the spell critical than move to thumatrage or whatever it is than dump the rest in there.

  19. ReHackt on April 18, 2015 at 7:46 pm

Hey Deltia ! Love all your videos, the informations are great and you share them with a bit of humor !

As a beginner, i use this build so I can level up quickly by grinding mobs (27 by the moment) but I also heard that fire mage DK was great for farming with the Impulse ability from the destruction staff.

Since I will only grind until my lvl 50, do you recommend me to keep using your build (shield and sword) or use a different build so i can maximise my efficacy with my destruction staff and the impulse ability ?

In the second case, can you tell me/refer me to a build with this kind of setup ? I did some researches on Google but I only find old post and I don’t trust them ^^”

Thx for your help, keep doing great stuff ! 🙂

    • Deltia on April 20, 2015 at 12:14 pm

Well I’m still working on it but I’d swap out some abilities. Here’s a video where I show what I’m working on in VR areas:

  20. Charlie Spider on April 19, 2015 at 1:40 pm

    Hi Deltia,
I greatly appreciate all the work that you’ve put into this website as it has been an invaluable tool for my character builds. I am constantly referring other players to your site for info. I realize that this a leveling build and read your previous comment about CP. However, as many of us are Vet players and do have CP to spend, I would be interested in your input for this build. It seems to me that 30 points into the Lady could be followed up by 30 points into the Steed for the block passives
since this build is a sword & board build. Does this seem feasible to you or would you focus more points into the Lady instead. Thank you for your opinion. Live long & prosper 🙂

    • Deltia on April 20, 2015 at 12:16 pm

Well I talked about that in great detail in my Shooting Star build which is very similar to what I run. Get 30 points into the blue spell critical tree than move to Thumertage (however you spell it) in the physical damage tree. That’s how I spec for damage.

      • Charlie Spider on April 20, 2015 at 11:29 pm

Great … ty for your input. I decided to spread my points around after getting the main 30 point passives by putting 10/10/10 in the trees. Went for the shield passive as well. Also am running w/ 2 HA – 5LA using 3 magic enchants on the 3 main pieces and 5 stam enchants on the 4 others + Shield. For attributes i’m gonna try 33 magic 30 stam. Using Seducer x5, Magnus x 4/3. I may end up restating to your build. Gonna experiment w/ it for a bit. Can’t wait to get 8 traits in LA. so I can make the arena set. Your builds rock. Love this build. It’s awesome! 🙂

        • Charlie Spider on April 22, 2015 at 10:52 pm

Never mind the bullox … After seeing your Vr1 vid today, I am definately restating to your build you brilliant bastard ! 🙂

  21. DiabloMuerto on April 20, 2015 at 12:02 am

I see someone else asked about the attributes, which was my question and your answer was Magicka, you put all points into Magicka?

  22. DiabloMuerto on April 20, 2015 at 2:25 pm

Knowing what you know if you could only play one, would it be an Ignition Sorc or an Omega Templar? I’ve rolled both following your guides, both are level 24 now and I really enjoy them both but I kind of want to focus on one for a bit and can’t decide which. I’m sure the sorc will probably offer more dps in the end but the Templar offers some nice utility that makes leveling a little easier and the dps is not bad.

  23. Grogin13 on April 22, 2015 at 1:25 pm

Any chance you could list the passives you took for 15-25?

  24. Lodowar on April 25, 2015 at 11:12 am

I love your guide, it enabled a total noob “me” to solo the elites map encounters, thank you.
I have a request to ask if you have the time; Can you update the pdf reference sheet with the passives.

  25. derek on April 25, 2015 at 12:23 pm

Hey Deltia. Great build. Looking forward to the VR5 one. Burn burn burn.

  26. Yahbe on April 27, 2015 at 4:05 pm

Hey Deltia. Did you ever get that V5 Laceration build that you said you would have by last week? Just wondering..

    • Deltia on April 28, 2015 at 9:20 pm

Not yet, working on PvP Templar at the moment.

  27. Justin on April 27, 2015 at 10:49 pm

I followed your build, am wearing the same armor, am lvl 26 and my magic recovery is only 577. Is that normal? seems low when i think yours was 1200 or so.

I’m a redguard. think it is making that much of a difference?

    • Deltia on April 28, 2015 at 9:23 pm

That screen shot was in Cyrodiil and also I have champion points.

Yes Redguard will make a difference but check your stats in Cyrodiil.

  28. ProcessedMeatMan on April 28, 2015 at 6:06 am

What UI do you use for your H/S/M bars?

    • Deltia on April 28, 2015 at 9:24 pm

      Wykkd’s Enhanced HUD.

  29. LogicalPhule on April 30, 2015 at 5:13 am

As always thanks for the work you do putting out videos and giving out great advice.

Do you have any gear suggestions for those of us still working on unlocking traits?

    • Deltia on May 4, 2015 at 12:45 pm

I’d probably go with more medium armor with stamina regeneration, maybe even Nights Silence.

  30. Downface on April 30, 2015 at 1:54 pm

i really like the build and i decided to make the first character in the game by following this guide. And finally i made my ardent flame 30 and took the lavawhip but im very dissappointed.i put all my attiributes in magicka i wear 7 pieces light armor i took the light armor passives but still my magicka isnt 22 lvl right now but i cant even fight with 3 23 lvl mobs .i tried to take hardened armor over reflective scales it didnt work too.Any suggestions?

    • Deltia on May 4, 2015 at 12:47 pm

Why don’t you like lava whip? And if you’re soloing, hardened armor might be better for you. You probably just need more passives in light armor to cast more.

  31. Leggendalex on April 30, 2015 at 5:26 pm

is vampire or ww good with this dk build or better stay human?

    • Deltia on May 4, 2015 at 12:48 pm

Vampire in later VR levels. I went vampire at VR2 and loving it. I only suggest that for Dunmers or people with high champion points.

  32. XIne on April 30, 2015 at 9:44 pm

Thanks for the great post Deltia! I had a couple of questions:

Can this build be a good pvp build for VR1 to VR14? I really liked what the build does and was wondering if it could be used

What is the add on you use for seeing the auto loot on the right side of your screen?

I hear you saying you leveled to 50 through pvp mainly, so my last question is do you go back and get all the skill points for quests or do them as you go as well? and if so is there a add on to show me which quests give skill points or not?

    • Deltia on May 4, 2015 at 12:58 pm

Yes, but it needs modified. I’ll go vampire at later VR levels, different armor, etc.

      Auto loot is “loot drop.”

Not the quest, but the skyshards yes. I will be doing that later when I play multiple roles. I do not know of skill point addon.

  33. KingIceV on May 3, 2015 at 2:38 pm

Hey Delita, what addons are you using? or recommend?

    • Deltia on May 4, 2015 at 12:56 pm

A lot, but it’s probably something my YT channel would help you with. I have two specific videos on it.

  34. Downface on May 4, 2015 at 10:45 pm

Hey Deltia im planing to make a character.Generally i’ll play alone.Which build do you suggest me to do.Im planing to focus ganking at pvp not a group play.

    • Deltia on May 5, 2015 at 2:32 am

Specter Nightblade if you’re talking about ANY build I’ve made.

      • Downface on May 5, 2015 at 7:53 pm

Thanks for advise. What about Ricochet is it good for my style

  35. Leggendalex on May 5, 2015 at 3:29 pm

which vampire skill are usefull in this build? When will you post the new build?

    • Deltia on May 6, 2015 at 12:22 pm

      I’ll show you at VR5.

      • Leggendalex on May 7, 2015 at 12:05 pm

  37. Logan on May 7, 2015 at 9:25 pm

Dude thanks, this build looks awesome and cannot wait to try it. Thanks for the idea and keep cranking out them sick videos 😀

  38. Danny on May 10, 2015 at 12:06 am

hey great build as always question I have is how do you keep your mama sustain up? Is it solely from the heavy resto attacks?

    • Deltia on May 11, 2015 at 1:07 pm

Ultimates restore tons of magicka combined with potions. If it’s a fight over two minutes I’ll use Spell Symmetry.

  39. phil on May 11, 2015 at 9:15 am

Hi Deltia, nice build, any chance of a new dk build for 1.6 for those of us that want to use 2h? I tried the bloody butcher build and it’s okay. I wonder what the dps comparison is of this build vs a 2 hander/ dual weild.

    Thank you

    • Deltia on May 11, 2015 at 1:24 pm

Yeah I need to redo the blood butcher on my Nord.

  40. Leggendalex on May 11, 2015 at 2:28 pm

i love the last pve build, its possible to play pvp with it ? cause i want to play a ranged fire dk like in the pve

    • Leggendalex on May 11, 2015 at 6:20 pm

and can you write the pve rotation please 🙂 ?

      • Deltia on May 12, 2015 at 6:27 pm

I explain one in great detail in the video.

  41. rootsoflife on May 12, 2015 at 11:42 am

….so… as V14 can you solo craglorn with this build (i mean the end build with the dustruction staffs)? or you we must change some skills\ultimate (to “corrosive armor” for example)?

    • Deltia on May 12, 2015 at 6:28 pm

      I don’t know haven’t tried.

  42. Dustin on May 14, 2015 at 2:50 pm

Great build man, one quick question on undaunted gear. Would you recommend Valkyn Skoria or Engine Guardian for PVP? It is nice having the meteor proc, but it is random, while the Engine Guardian gives you sustain. Thoughts?

    • Deltia on May 15, 2015 at 6:55 pm

Engine Guardian for survivability or Blood Spawn for bat bombs.

  43. matt on May 14, 2015 at 5:33 pm

I have a question about weapon Attacks. In a build like that when do you do weapon attacks? I’m newer to eso and adding in weapon attacks is a little confusing. How important is attacking with the sword and shield vs the staff. Also does the damage of the sword scale with your higher stat or only stam or nothing?

    • Deltia on May 15, 2015 at 6:56 pm

Well you’ll get less damage considering a magicka build uses that to do damage vs weapon power/crit.

      • Krazer on June 28, 2015 at 2:05 am

Hey so how do you get the gear do u have to craft them ? So I should put my skill points on tailoring or metalworking cuz I’m confused about the craft points I should put on. I thought u only recommended alchemy. Sry I’m just a noob.

        • Deltia on June 29, 2015 at 12:26 pm

Combination of drops and craftable gear that I talk about in the video.

  44. Desolationz on May 14, 2015 at 10:26 pm

Hey Deltia it’s Maryx enjoying the build so far in both PvE and PvP, I was wondering did you put any Attribute Points into health whilst levelling or did they all go straight into Magicka?

    • Deltia on May 15, 2015 at 6:56 pm

All magicka while leveling. Not that important honestly.

  45. HeroKell on May 18, 2015 at 5:23 am

So 5 light 2 heavy v 7 light…what’s the big difference cause I was looking at the buffs and it seems like you only get a little more spell resist, max magicka and regen from 5 to 7 plus then the 2 heavy give a little more armor. Opinion?

    • Deltia on May 18, 2015 at 12:50 pm

2 heavy gives you some useful passives like self healing, resource on attack not to mention spell resist and armor. Basically enough to prevent you from being one shoot while holding block.

      • HeroKell on May 18, 2015 at 12:58 pm

Would you then recommend the 5 light 2 heavy combo or just practice awareness so that you aren’t practically killed in one shot? Plus been leveling with this build…not the 1-50 version but the vr1-5 version and I’m level 25 right now and it is absolutely awesome been able to maintain 2k dps and get bursts up to 3k. So amazing.

        • Deltia on May 19, 2015 at 7:23 pm

I’ve never really been one shot besides soloing DSA.

        • BuC on June 28, 2015 at 1:43 pm

Which two pieces should be heavy armor?

  46. Lukens on May 21, 2015 at 2:04 am

Hey are you going to be doing the laceration for pvp? If not can you tell me what abilities to swap and what armor sets to use

    • Deltia on May 23, 2015 at 8:28 pm

The Yoloknight is what I’d use for PvP on a magicka DK.

  47. BuC on May 24, 2015 at 9:18 am

I’m looking to follow this build. At what level do you think is best I should begin the vampirism?

  48. willbo on May 27, 2015 at 11:24 am

hi deltia and thank you again for a cracking build. I had a dk something like this, I admit more like this now lol. I use it for pvp and it’s amazing. you can see mobs of 5 actually stop and start running from me in fights. thank you again

  49. Speny300 on May 31, 2015 at 6:45 pm

Just wanted to show my support and say thanks for the great builds. Will be using this when i finally get it for xbox one. Feel like im a pro and i havnt got the game yet after watching you for the last couple of months. Keep it up..ecspecially like timeout from tamriel videos too

  50. Fluffy The Horrible on June 1, 2015 at 10:46 am

    Hi Deltia,

The build is absolutely great for DPS, but I ran VDSA yesterday evening with this char for the first time, and it really lacks survivability. I’m a glass cannon with this one, I died a lot and frustrated our healer endlessly.
I wear the light armor Silks of the Sun, and the Valkyn Scoria head and shoulders, I have 25k health but squishy as hell. I had to change some spells to include armor and dragon blood, but nevertheless I was more occupied with keeping myself alive then doing DPS. I even swapped my Spell Power potions with Health potions to keep me up.
Any advise on this? Are you only using this char when you’re sure you have a kickass healer with you?

    • HeroKell on June 1, 2015 at 9:24 pm

A lot of the time it is dps awareness. If you can stay out of shit then you are good with glass cannon, but if you have trouble staying out of it then having a survivability like gdb or igneous shield is good plus adding 2 pieces of heavy to your gear.

  51. yDockal on June 1, 2015 at 8:50 pm

Anyway you can make this more newb friendly, like while leveling 1-25 what attribute points you put where what your bar looks like per level. Where exactly your skill points are going per level?

  52. bum75 on June 4, 2015 at 12:20 am

    Hey Deltia,
I love this guide and look forward to using it to level on the one. A question I had was, would it be stupid to put attributes in health if my main goal is to tank end game after leveling with this build? Or do you still recommend putting all points in magika like you said earlier and pay to reset later? I plan on using your dk tank guide and it has all attributes in health and I worried about having to change the points around. Thanks!

    • bum75 on June 4, 2015 at 12:28 am

Oh, I also planned on playing dunmer, for the all around effect. I figured that would be important due to the stamina and magika passive buff.

    • bum75 on June 5, 2015 at 12:41 pm

Never mind! Just found your yoloknight build based off your dunmer so I’ll use that to tank, if you can solo endgame with it in sure I can use it to tank to start! Thanks for all your hard work!

  53. Concerned Dunmer on June 4, 2015 at 10:47 pm

I’ve been trying to follow your builds since I’m restarting and it’s the only website that has any builds whatsoever, and I can’t understand them. You need to go more in depth, not everybody wants to watch a video that’s 20 minutes long. Preferably a level by level stat/skill allocation list, trust me. It will bring more people if you evaluate your build step by step..

    • bum75 on June 5, 2015 at 2:20 pm

You’re really dumb and expect too much. Stop complaining. It’s not his job to save you time when he’s helping a large number of people and you’re just one complainer asking for more. The games about taking a build and going ways you want to, that’s why he leaves it open for interpretation. Pick up and play wow if you want everything given to you and only one way to play….

Trust me… At the very least learn to ask nicer.

  54. Chris on June 8, 2015 at 6:33 am

i’m wondering if there is any insight on whether dunmer DK could modify that first set a bit to make a magicka tank.

i played 1.6 a bit as Imp DK stam tank, but starting over to play with friends on console, going dunmer. i figure there will be a shortage of good heals and tanks for the first months, so i want to have that kind of versatility while my friends go through the ropes with DPS-heavy levelling builds.

    basically, would this work?

1h+s: invasion, whip (for dd during tank downtime), taunt, str entropy, burning ember
resto: talons, GDB, regen, igneous, ??? (healing spring, chains depending on group)

(obv swap out taunt for dragon scale when we mess around in pvp, as well as any other obvious pickups like meteor)

what would i be looking at for res management (never played a magicka build) as dunmer DK?

  55. Covar on June 10, 2015 at 5:29 pm

Dang..I rolled an Orc DK… but i’m still going to try!

  56. Knightz on June 11, 2015 at 3:22 pm

So I just started playing on the Xbox one. I decided to go Dunmer DK after watching some of your videos. I’ve noticed that the names of the skills on Xbox are different than PC so it makes your guide a little confusing…… No idea why they did this.

  57. Mighty Memnon on June 22, 2015 at 6:51 pm

    Hi Deltia

    Love the guides!

I’ve been using a stamina build based around the butcher with a red guard, which I’ve loved, I’m now VR2 and I’m wondering whether I should change to laceration to speed up the levelling or stick with a stamina build?

    • Deltia on June 22, 2015 at 7:42 pm

If you like stamina stick with it, I prefer magicka DKS.

  58. Mighty Memnon on June 22, 2015 at 8:52 pm

Thanks for quick reply, I enjoy both play styles and have destro and light armor near 50, so would be quick switch, really looking for fasted solo pve build to smash VR Levels asap!

  59. Jonas on June 23, 2015 at 2:13 am

Hey deltia and thanks for this awesome build! I just wanna ask one question, im going to reroll my dk. And make an drumner dk and im just going to play pve so my question is can I use destro staff all the way to 50 and skip sword and shield or is that an bad idea?

    • Deltia on June 23, 2015 at 6:39 pm

Yeah but I do use resto starting off before I get Green Dragon Blood. But if you nuke stuff fast enough doesnt matter.

  60. LoGiiKz on June 23, 2015 at 3:23 am

What if I go with the PVE build and I want to go to PVP will the build for PVE be good enough for PVP?

    • Deltia on June 23, 2015 at 6:40 pm

In my humble (not really) opinion, you should probably fully to commit to one build with morphs over another. I focus on PvP now so I changed morphs. Could it work? Yes, will be the best possible? No.

  61. Four Legs on June 23, 2015 at 1:45 pm

Hey Deltia, I’ve started this build and in the meantime I’m researching on my crafting alt. I see in this build only some of the gear is crafted, do you have any recommendations for a fully crafted gear setup that I can use until I get myself the other gear? Would be well appreciated, thanks!

    • Deltia on June 23, 2015 at 6:43 pm

I talk about the options in the video as well as linking some craftable sets in the bottom of the post.

  62. Four Legs on June 23, 2015 at 1:54 pm

Nevermind I’m an idiot, didnt see the first part. Also probably a dumb question but wouldnt the seducer 5 items be better than the arena 5 items?

    • Deltia on June 23, 2015 at 6:43 pm

Depends, if you’re up in front running out of stam, arena, if you can’t cast any spells, magnus over seducers.

  63. LoGiiKz on June 23, 2015 at 6:05 pm

If I use the PVE build can we still use it to play PVP?

    • Deltia on June 23, 2015 at 6:44 pm

      • LoGiiKz on June 23, 2015 at 10:46 pm

Ok yeah since I see you use a morph for PVE for a skill and for PVP you use the same skill but the other morph. Thanks for replying.

  64. Caesar on June 24, 2015 at 4:39 am

Hey I’m playin on console so I’m confused in the end I only get to choose one of your builds like pve build and pvp build You can’t have enough skill points to have all the pve and pvp skills together? Because my goal is to be Beast Mode at both! And last question witch crafting should I work on as I level?thx.

    • Deltia on June 24, 2015 at 5:28 pm

You can have enough to do both, but might have to swap out morphs here and there. I do alchemy for all my characters.

      • Caesar on June 28, 2015 at 9:13 pm

To get the gear I need to put points on tailoring or metalworking? or did you just find them from drops?

  65. iDimi3 on June 24, 2015 at 8:24 am

Thanks for sharing your profound knowledge of this game.
Great site for orienting and comparing what character to roll with.
You’ve convienced me to go Dunmer DK 😉

Will check back on these guides as I progress.
    Once again, job well done!

  66. Logan on June 24, 2015 at 5:49 pm

Hey deltias, you should do a video/ guide explaining how to get the laceration gear. That would be very helpful,
Due to me being a new player to ESO. Thank you for doing this build! It’s great!!

  67. Brantley on June 25, 2015 at 3:21 am

What up Deltia I just hit vet with this build and its a freakin beast. Big question being on tamrielfoundry, i see another build by some dude in Hodor that uses both sea of flames and inner light……is that worth it? or is just SoF sufficient?

    • Deltia on June 25, 2015 at 7:17 pm

Yeah for top end damage for max magicka.

  68. David on June 25, 2015 at 10:51 am

first off thanks for doing this man. i was using my skills way too wrong and paying for it now trying to catch up as I reach VR1. I had a question as to why you dont use coagulating blood in VR 1-5 seeing as I am always in need of health. my first bar is purely flame abilites (except inferno) with fire talons. second i have 3 slottted for health buffs (igneous shield, volatile, and coagulating blood), the other 2 right now are for obsidian shard and petrify as im trying to increase that skill line. eventually Im going to take them out and put impulse or eruption. For UA i run standard depending what the situation is but mostly its magma armor with dragons leap for the shield bonus. I dont like having so many slots for health even though i dont mind because it gets the job done and i would rather not be all over the place with 8 different damage abilities. so essentially i dont understand how you only run green drag blood seeing as i am always in need of health if not i die quickly. any tips you have? i plan on becoming a vamp but the fact that each stage reduces health recovery has me verry worried. Also how did you manage to get mages guild to 10 i really want meteor. im reading books like crazy and just hit lvl 6 for fire rune which was kind of a let down for now.

    • Deltia on June 25, 2015 at 7:14 pm

Coagulating blood is great for self healing but I prefer more stamina regen for blocking. I picked up lore books in Cyrodiil to get mages guild high.

  69. HyperTraceur on June 25, 2015 at 12:09 pm

Is the 1-25 build okay for veteran 1-15? I also don’t know the best way about leveling skills up. I’m already veteran 1.

    • HyperTraceur on June 27, 2015 at 12:22 am

The veteran 1-5 build doesn’t seem as solo able as the before 1-25 or I’m just not getting it wasn’t made for solo?

  70. LillyAngel on June 26, 2015 at 10:26 am

Great guides, loving them. Anyway, I’ve seen so many negative posts about being a Vampire in the end game because of the extra fire damage they receive and low health regen especially in the vet dungeons where you could get one shotted by some mobs , now my question is, how do you go about being one as well? Are you having problems doing some of the vet dungeons or how do you like being one in general? I am also a Dunmer DK myself and just think that being a vampire fits dark elfs just perfectly and they also have some cool abilities.

Thanks a bunch for your help

    • Deltia on June 29, 2015 at 11:43 am

There are real downsides but a lot of it can be countered with champion points. At low levels, with low CP, Vamp is miserable. At VR14 Dunmer DK with 360 champ points, it’s amazing.

      • LillyAngel on June 29, 2015 at 11:54 am

LOL, just became a Vamp at 43 and freaking loving it but i did notice my health bar going down faster when killing some certain mobs which use fire but nothing that could kill me so far. It also seems like i am blasting through enemies by being a Vamp 🙂 . Anyway, since i am not even a Vet level yet and don’t have any CP points (and it seems like a long way to achieve anything close to 360CP points) do you think it’s better just to get cured and get it later, at VR14 for example? It’s great to be a Vamp but don’t want to frustrate healers in dungeons or myself by being a one-shot target. I guess there is no real way to mitigate that extra damage in lower levels right? Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work!

  71. Opcf_nightmare on June 26, 2015 at 10:50 pm

dude i don’t get it i just got to VR 1 ,but I’m wearing 7 light 5 piece seducer and 2 piece syrabane rings but I’m super weak i barely have 5000 spell res and 3000 phy res i have 15k max magika and 16k max life with 1450 magika recovery my spell dmg is at 820 for both with 20% crit i don’t know what to do to get better…… help if could could give some pointers that would be great btw I’m on console

    • Deltia on June 29, 2015 at 12:23 pm

Its because I have 13 more vet levels than you, just keep leveling.

  72. Opcf_nightmare on June 27, 2015 at 5:20 am

if u could reply on this comment it would be helpful for some reason i can’t see my other 1

    • Deltia on June 29, 2015 at 12:24 pm

I just replied to all pending comments.

  73. Deltia is awesome on June 27, 2015 at 3:28 pm

Alright so I’m still a level 28 noob how am I suppose to obtain the gear do u find them from just drops or do I have to work on my clothing tailoring or blacksmith metalworking. Because I thought u only recommended alchemy.

    • Deltia on June 29, 2015 at 11:56 am

I talk about the gear and how to get it in the video.

  74. Anthony C on June 29, 2015 at 7:01 am

    Hi Deltia,

I just got ESO when it launched for Xboxone. I’ve been playing mmos for quite some time, but this one is very unique. Thanks for the builds and videos. I went ahead and rolled a dark elf DK because your build looked fun. My question is though… Each one of your videos on this page looks like completely different builds, is that just how it is in ESO with things changing so much as you level ? I’m only to level 20 at the moment so I’m unsure. I just like to play a build as long as possible to get used to it, so it left me wondering if we’re intended to just pick one or keep switching between the different ones?

    • Deltia on June 29, 2015 at 12:17 pm

Yeah things change that much as you level up.

      • Anthony C on June 29, 2015 at 1:22 pm

So then, noob question, does that mean you reallocate skill points at certain points? I.e. at maybe 50 or after VR 5 to accomodate the new play style or do you just have all of these skills and just not use some of them?

  75. Xthasys on June 29, 2015 at 7:17 pm

Man thx a lot im from Argentina so english is not my mother tongue so im going to do my best writing, i made the one shield/resto staff build i change only one skill because i dont have it yest (purge) and put another heal skill, tonight i went to RvR with my DK dunmer lvl 30 and i was inmortal i can fight and dont die vs 2 with goods ranks, and was pretty fun to run vs a lot of people doing focus on me and being SO hard to kill…
I cant understand what i need to do when i finally be lvl 50, i love using one hand shield and resto staff, but using destru staff for more damage sounds pretty amazing, how about suvirving without healings?

    • Xthasys on June 29, 2015 at 7:25 pm

i have a question about the game, the skill progresion of the weapons is only for unlock new skills or is for more damage too?
for example a two handed sword with 10 in their skill hit the same if u have 30 in the two handed skill ? Is hard to notice because in the console edition we dont have any numbers (experiencie, damage doing or receiving) I hope u can understand because my english is like a monkey with a banana in their ass

      • Deltia on July 1, 2015 at 10:19 pm

They do more damage as they increase in rank.

    • Deltia on July 1, 2015 at 10:19 pm

You can just need Green Dragon Blood for sure.

  76. LoGiiKz on June 29, 2015 at 11:43 pm

Hey Deltia. On your final build video you have 40 points into magicka and I think 20 into health but in the screenshot where you show all the abilities and passive a you have 31 magicka and 31 health. I currently have the atronach boon. My question is should I go 40 magicka and 20 health or 31 magicka and 31 health like the screenshot.

  77. Ryan on June 30, 2015 at 8:56 pm

While leveing laceration DK are you using 5 light armor and 2 medium? And then at higher levels you go 7 light? Also which passives for medium if any did you take? Thanks in advance÷

    • Deltia on July 1, 2015 at 10:38 pm

I take passives for reduce dodge cost.

      • Xthays on July 3, 2015 at 11:45 am

        bash = dodge ?

  78. Clint on July 1, 2015 at 12:30 am

Deltia, I’m so confused. I’m new here. Why all the stamina and medium armor if you’re casting for dps? Where is the magicka coming from? I feel stupid for asking this. I must be missing something. I want to make this build but I don’t get it.

    • Deltia on July 1, 2015 at 10:39 pm

What medium armor? I’m not using a ton but it’s for stamina regeneration and reduce dodge roll cost.

  79. Chris on July 1, 2015 at 2:27 am

I’ve been looking through your site, and firstly, I want to say thanks! You clearly put a lot of work into this.

I’m trying to decide which of your magika dk builds to use for PvP. Any suggestions? I’ve been looking at this and the Yoloknight. I’m a Dunmer if that helps.

    • Deltia on July 1, 2015 at 10:29 pm

This build and Omega are my strongest. Omega has more group utility this is survivable.

  80. Ataniphor on July 1, 2015 at 7:58 am

Hello Deltia, would you recommend taking vampire early on to train it or wait until later when Dunmer passives are on and with champion points? I’m a bit worried that I will get destroyed early on with the vampire weakness to fire.

    • Deltia on July 1, 2015 at 10:32 pm

I wait until Veteran ranks but people have success in lower levels.

  81. Ludde on July 1, 2015 at 10:46 am

Does the “cc lockdown” with invasion + flame lash really work since the taget will be cc immune after the invasion?

    • Deltia on July 1, 2015 at 10:33 pm

There immune once they break it, that’s why you have to be quick.

  82. Drakeos on July 1, 2015 at 3:29 pm

Im having trouble choosing whats skills to pickup while leveling from 1-15 for this lateration build and also use sword/shield first or what ???

  83. Anthony C on July 1, 2015 at 11:05 pm

Hey Deltia, again thanks for the build and the replies to everyone! Just a quick question, do you respec at certain levels or do you eventually have enough skill points that it doesn’t matter in ESO

    • Deltia on July 2, 2015 at 4:18 pm

      I respect at 15 and vr1 usually.

  84. Kai on July 2, 2015 at 5:11 am

Why are all the abilities named differently on here than they are on the ps4 version of the game ? I tried following your build some what but that names dont even match and some dont even look the same. I con that is.

  85. Kai on July 2, 2015 at 5:21 am

nevermind i just realized why it is. Thank you

  86. Nelson on July 2, 2015 at 6:17 pm

Hey Deltia. I really like your videos but have you tried this build on the PS4 version of ESO? I’m finding it quite difficult to try this laceration build there. Thanks.

    • Deltia on July 3, 2015 at 9:07 pm

I played it day one on console release. It will get better as you learn more and more about the game.

      • Nelson on July 7, 2015 at 12:50 pm

Do you think they did a good job porting this game from PC to the consoles? I mean, would you rather play it on the PC or Xone/PS4? Thanks.

        • Deltia on July 8, 2015 at 7:22 pm

I think it works better as a console game than PC in terms of server performance. So yes, it works great on consoles.

  87. Falados on July 3, 2015 at 3:35 am

What did you use @ level 15 to 25+ ?

    • Deltia on July 3, 2015 at 9:10 pm

The same skills and started unlocking new ones to replace old build.

  88. Hexipox on July 3, 2015 at 7:56 pm

I’ve just started a char to try this out, it seems like a whole lot of fun!

But i have an issue – Kindle passive – it is suppose to give ALL my fires spells no matter if they are not Ardent Flame +66% burn damage? Well my Burning Ember does not get any bonus on its burn from this? why is that? am i not understanding the passive?

I tried with burning ember at level 10 – burns for 230, then i put in 2 points in kindle to gain +66% .. still burns for 230 a tick?

    Please explain to me 🙂

    • Deltia on July 3, 2015 at 9:16 pm

Hm, I honestly don’t know. I don’t have a solution for that to be honest.

  89. Hexipox on July 4, 2015 at 1:08 am

You should try see if it actually works for you .. respec .. check the dmg .. i just did it again now .. respeced and damage just dont increase on any fire burning dots..

It should affect all fire spell right like the last aoe in destruction tree..

  90. John on July 4, 2015 at 2:32 am

Would DK be the best as a tank role? Should pure tank even be played or should I do a DK with this set up? PvE*btw

  91. Drakeos on July 4, 2015 at 5:35 am

Would Enflaming Breath, Burning Talon, Pulse Force, Green Dragon Blood and Mage Light be any good to use to level ? (with banner) ?

  92. Falados on July 5, 2015 at 3:15 am

So my AOE bar is setup as Fiery Breath, Burning Talon, Impulse, Green Dragon Blood with Inner Light and my ulimate is Banner (Might) so trying to setup a single target bar (using destruction staff atm) for world bosses/boss in main story (guild stories) aswell

  93. Nick on July 5, 2015 at 7:06 am

Hey is the PVP laceration Dragonknight build tanky at all? I was looking at some other builds like the Bloody Butcher, Umbra Nightblade and Templar Sheddar build…. Idk I want something high dps but yet not Squishy I think I like this build the best my question is this tanky enough or would one of the other builds i liked be more tankier….

  94. Nick on July 5, 2015 at 7:21 am

also is the pvp of the Laceration DK any good in pve

  95. Ger on July 6, 2015 at 3:05 am

so u do sword and shield till lvl 15?

  96. Dansk on July 7, 2015 at 9:35 am

Great Build – as allways. Haven’t seen the vid yet but will after getting home. Honestly i hate using my dk tank as vampire. But i will revamp for this build. Do you switch vamp on / off when going pvp/pve? Or what skills would you recommend instead of mist and swarm? Thx alot for the great work

  97. mike on July 7, 2015 at 3:50 pm

Since I am not Veteran Rank yet, what armor would you recommended for a level 32 for pvp? Should I use any gear and not sets? Or should I look for sets and just change their glyphs to magic?

    • Deltia on July 8, 2015 at 7:23 pm

I mention that in the post and video some good alternatives.

  98. Marty on July 7, 2015 at 4:33 pm

i have a level 36 altmer DK, do you think i should restart and choose the dunmer race?

    • Deltia on July 8, 2015 at 7:24 pm

High Elf is a great choice as well.

  99. Dave on July 9, 2015 at 1:32 am

Will this build work for leveling an imperial Dk? What would you change for a stamina based leveling build?

    Thank you.

    • Deltia on July 10, 2015 at 6:16 pm

The build is meant for magickal races, but yes Imperial would work. I don’t change my builds around races so you can adjust how you see fit.

    • BuC on July 10, 2015 at 7:07 pm

I want to take this build into pvp levels 30-50 pre-veteran ranks. What’s the attribute point breakdown and do you still suggest 5 light 2 medium for armor? Or something different. Thank you!

  100. Angelo on July 9, 2015 at 9:28 am

Im on VR2 now but I just keep dying… Turns out this build isn’t right for me I guess.

    • Deltia on July 10, 2015 at 6:18 pm

Sometimes it’s not, maybe try something else.

  101. BearClau on July 9, 2015 at 5:23 pm

What do you think about this build as a tank build it seems so survivable that in dungeons I would think this would be great as a main tank build as well considering you will have a main healer.

    • BearClau on July 9, 2015 at 5:40 pm

I guess I failed to realize the whole build was revamped after getting to vet 14. what about the 50 build though expanding on that for pve/pvp main tank.

  102. Serrin on July 12, 2015 at 4:41 pm

Have they changed the names of the abilities or am I not understanding my class because under ardent flame i have fiery grip IV not lashing strike. alot of the skill’s are different names on mine.?

    • Deltia on July 13, 2015 at 11:37 pm

      Different or unmoprhed.

  103. Sandy on July 13, 2015 at 10:07 pm

Deltia, I don’t understand. You make a great, logical argument for using sword and shield on bar 1 and destro staff for things that can’t be stunned yet you completely change to both destro staff in your v1-V5
Discussion. I don’t understand. Moreover, if we focus primarily on sword and board, we don’t have destro staff skill maxed out . If we switch at v1, we are at a disavantage?

    • Deltia on July 13, 2015 at 11:43 pm

      For PvE leveling much faster.

  104. Sandy on July 15, 2015 at 1:30 pm

Deltia, I didn’t understand your last comment about “for PvE” leveling. Won’t we be PVE all the way for V1 -through v V14? If destro staff is good for both bars for PVE, won’t it be good for levels 25-50?

  105. Tony on July 16, 2015 at 12:12 am

All the videos are exactly the same not describing the level 1-25 build or any of the builds why is this

  106. Aimon on July 17, 2015 at 1:17 am

Hey there, I was just wondering if you could recommend what I should do here: I only want to use destro staffs, I’m a dk dunmer, but I also want to play pvp and pve, plus I want to be able to use devouring swarm and elusive mist. So I was thinking a combo of the PVP laceration with a bar from the level 50 laceration bar? Please any help would be fantastic and appreciated.

    • Deltia on July 17, 2015 at 7:18 pm

I posted what I thought was best for me. If something else works for you, stick with it.

  107. Aimon on July 17, 2015 at 10:41 am

Hey there I have a little problem: I am a DK Dunmer and I want to play both PVP and PVE plus I really only want to use inferno destro staffs and be able to incorporate Elusive Mist and Devouring Swarm. What should I do. Also if no one can think of a suggestion can you just recommended the best build on this page for PVP and PVE please. Any help will be appreciated thanks.

  108. Sven on July 18, 2015 at 6:16 pm

Running a Dunmer DK mainly in PVP, I am running into a dilemma. Just starting ESO on console, I’m not that aware of the changes to the system. What I’m getting at is that I would like to slot another active ability, but not sure if the ability has been nerfd . With the dunmer passive ‘flame talent’, Inferno, Ash Cloud, and Fire Rune look promising. Look is the key word due to chatter on forums saying the devs patched those. Are any of those abilities worth the skill point and out of those choices, is there a recommendation?
Another question about the build; the morph of Impulse. Would Pulsar be beneficial in PVP over Elemental Ring due to the lowering of enemy’s max health?
Like I mentioned, theres a lot of chatter on the forums. Sometimes its best to ask advise from someone who has been dealing with the topic. So if there’s any input you could provide, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for providing a useful information regarding ESO.

    • Deltia on July 20, 2015 at 11:25 am

Yes they still proc skoria often.

  109. Kenny on July 19, 2015 at 1:55 am

Im having so much trouble making a build for dragon knight and i dont see what i want anywere could you please give me some idea what to do what i really want to do is be all 7 heavy armor use sword and shield on bar 1 and two hander for bar 2 tank for dungeons and be a beast leveling what i mean by being a beast is be tanky but also use ardent flame abilities have some dps on the sword and shield and use the werewolf ultimate for everything on atleast one bar and for pvp i would want to be hard as hell to kill and slowly kill my opponents

    • Deltia on July 21, 2015 at 6:51 pm

Well don’t use heavy armor. If you follow my build, with the gear like I posted, you won’t have problems. All the material is there and seven pieces of heavy armor isn’t what I used.

  110. n0phearz on July 20, 2015 at 1:35 am

I still have no idea what to do, to be able to craft all the gear you use. I’m playing on PS4, and just got my Dunmer DK to Lvl30. That’s when I noticed you’ve been using crafted gear. I haven’t even touched any crafting stuff since I started, so I have absolutely nothing leveled (except for bookshelves that leveled them up) or any “researching” done on any gear.

When talking about researching a piece of gear, for this instance let’s say the Seducer Head armor and Shield. What I had just done a few moments ago was, choose the helmet trait line, picked a random green helmet I had, that was available, and than chose the Infused trait on the bottom, since I only have that and the Reinforced “Trait Progress” available. Do I just do the same thing again after the 5 hours have passed with another helmet? Or am I missing something entirely that I have no heard. I’ve done the same with the Shield as well but just choosing a random green one that was available to research on and picking a random trait.

      • n0phearz on July 25, 2015 at 6:38 pm

You’re awesome dude. I apologize for the late reply but thank you for the video. Im at 3 traits on gear for light and medium, starting to take a while to research so I’ve been trying to power level clothing to get that passive. I can’t wait to start making gear, ive watched all of your videos so i have to start making gear for them all now lol

  111. Jack on July 21, 2015 at 4:24 am

Great guide, I’ve just hit vet ranks on my DK DPS and this is really helpful. Not sure if this has been asked, but how important is vamp to this build?

    • Deltia on July 21, 2015 at 6:48 pm

      Not make or break.

      • Jack on July 21, 2015 at 8:46 pm

Okay thanks, I might still give it a try for a while but I’ve just never been that into vamp. Also what is your reasoning behind choosing sea of flames over flames of oblivion? I feel like the magic returned is fairly negligible especially since it only pops when the fireball itself kills an enemy. I’ve been running with flames of oblivion because I feel the extra weapon crit is more useful. Does it make more of a difference at end game?

  112. Steven on July 21, 2015 at 8:36 pm

Hey great build and informative videos. I tried reading through and watching video and apologize if I missed but if focused only on PVE what should the Bar 2 Abilities be with a Destruction Staff?

  113. Gamer-J on July 22, 2015 at 3:36 pm

Hey Deltia, I’m new to the game and have one big question. What do you do when you have to kill enemies who have a flame resistance? Does this build work against these cause of magic penetration?

    • Deltia on July 22, 2015 at 9:43 pm

Um, use fire damage. I haven’t encounter many PvE mobs with flame resist.

  114. scott on July 25, 2015 at 4:26 pm

im new to ESO and abit confused. Your first build says one hand and shield and all points into magica. but after vet level 1 the stats change and weapon types. do you reset stats?

    • Deltia on July 27, 2015 at 6:13 pm

Attributes? Or what do you mean by stats?

  115. Phoenix on July 25, 2015 at 5:16 pm

which is the better dps and easier to play this build or the Bloody Butcher for PVE?

  116. Aimon on July 26, 2015 at 8:43 pm

What build on this page would you say is best for PVE and PVP together? Your PVP build or one from the PVE levelling guide?

  117. Trey on July 27, 2015 at 2:23 am

So for the PVP Build could you tell us how many you perk into Magic aswell as health. Also You are wearing mostly heavy armor for it, do you perk into any heavy, or light/medium? Specifics please?

  118. Vyuf on July 27, 2015 at 8:32 am

Hello Deltia, first off very nice build. Appreciate the time you put in helping new gamers as well as other players wanting this same experience. I have a question however. Do you think it would work if I played with the PVE Laceration setup, gear and all in PVE then for PVP still use the full light armor except swap to the PVP Laceration Bars using Shield/Sword as bar 1 and Destruct. Staff with bar 2? So pretty much both builds just full light. I realize it wouldn’t be as tanky I really love both styles.

    • Deltia on July 27, 2015 at 6:18 pm

Probably not, but you can try. If it doesn’t just change.

  119. Will on July 27, 2015 at 7:22 pm

Wow, I’ve got to say this build is pretty amazing. I originally was playing in a Khajiit Nightblade. I wanted to start a new character after I reached end game with that character and I thought that a DragonKnight build would be fun to try. I followed this build and it’s my favorite character now! Thanks for all your hard work Deltias!

  120. n0phearz on July 28, 2015 at 9:18 pm

I just noticed on your VR1-5 video that you use Mage’s guild skills and passives. I’m only at rank 6 at VR1. Is there a setup you would recommend using until I can get to Rank 10 with Mages guild?

  121. Gh0st on July 29, 2015 at 3:52 am

What stats do you go into? mostly HP and magikca with some stam?

  122. Sisk on July 29, 2015 at 7:58 pm

Hello, what would be the changes you would make if you had to go more like a solo PVP combat style?

  123. Dylan on July 30, 2015 at 2:18 am

For final pve build: Can you explain why you choose bar1 destruction staff over dual weild, i feel like the bar 1 is where most of your dps comes from and dual weilding would be increasing dps by a lot. Also, what are your thoughts on burning talons over elemental ring? I am vet 6 btw so I do have all these, just theorizing here

    • Dylan on August 6, 2015 at 12:59 am

Was hoping for a reply here if you can, and if not dual wield, then maybe restoration staff for extra magicka?

  124. Mrisco23 on July 31, 2015 at 8:59 am

Yaw deltia, should i keep vampirerism after the update ?

    • Deltia on August 1, 2015 at 12:16 am

I’m dropping mine as I don’t see much of an advantage.

  125. Ssalaar on August 1, 2015 at 2:04 pm

Deltia, I noticed on your “final build” area for the skill bar one and two destro staff skills are the same. is this by design or a copy/paste flaw?

  126. David on August 3, 2015 at 1:57 am

Hey Deltia, I have a Dunmer DK level 25, been going for a mage kind of build. However, I do not know what to do, cause I would like to follow your build and once I get to veteran have a build like your “Final Build” where it’s light armor and destruction staffs. What do you recommend?

    • Deltia on August 3, 2015 at 7:20 pm

Work your way towards the new skills and abilities while leveling, it’s what I did.

  127. Dave on August 3, 2015 at 5:04 am

    Hey Deltia,
Thank you so much for this build! It is great! I focused my characted since the very beginning to be a Mage DK (sort of like your “Final Build”). It is now a Dunmer level 25, and I was wondering if I should go the sword and shield and once I get to veteran go with your Final Build. Or what do you recommend? I know in the end it is up to me, but I would just LOVE your recommendation. Thank you so much Deltia! You’re the best

  128. Handawwwg on August 5, 2015 at 7:13 am

Hi Deltia, just wanted to say first off I love your videos. Been playing ESO for a month on the console now and cant get off it and I really like your videos they really explain well what it is to be a top end gamer.

This isn’t your typical attributes question. I’m around VR2 at the moment on the Dunmer DK. I have 20 into health and 30 into magicka. So my stats are roughly 16.5k max magic and 12.5 max health and i’ll be honest I die alot. I’ve seen you say at end game that you respec making your max health around 18k and pump everything else into magic. So my question is.. where should I go from here.. i’m coming up to VR3 very soon. Should I pump my glyphs into health because I find I die alot even with Green Dragons Blood on the bar (my glyphs are currently all into Magicka other than my rings). I feel like 18k health is very unachievable for my guy at this stage of the game or am I not seeing something?

    • Deltia on August 5, 2015 at 10:01 pm

Attributes probably have little to do with you dying. What weapons are you using? Try Burning Talons with Elemental Blockade from a distance so mobs can’t touch you. 100 more health won’t do much for you, controlling NPCs will.

  129. koopahtroop on August 5, 2015 at 11:27 am

Hey Deltia, wondering what a good bar/rotation would be without valkyn set. Trying to save keys for next patch, so i’d really like to maximize in another way. Really just questioning certain dots without the meteor proc really being effective. Such as, scalding rune.

    • Deltia on August 5, 2015 at 7:03 pm

Probably just Fiery Breath and whip honestly.

  130. Tim on August 7, 2015 at 1:54 pm

Hey Deltia, Xbox user here, and having tons of fun with the game. So is my wife, she rolled with a High Elf Dragonknight LOL I know not to much synergy is going on in there. She’s a little down that she isn’t that great, should I consider rebuilding her character this way? Make it purely magic based Dragonknight, I know the Dunmers passives will always make them stronger with fire, but was wondering about this? Thanks. PLEASE help !!!!!

    • Deltia on August 8, 2015 at 12:49 pm

It’s still good but Dunmer is powerful because you can do magicka or stamina at any point plus fire damage. I’d reroll and check my Wayrest grind, 9 hours to VR1.

      • Tim on August 10, 2015 at 12:35 pm

Hey thanks again, Also thanks for the whole Umbra build, that is the most fun I have had pvp’n so far. The ability to just disappear in a fight must frustrate the enemy so much. With my Sroc, if I saw three guys I wouldn’t even dare to dive in alone. With this guy, you can dive in if it gets crazy I cripple – Healing ward – some refreshing paths, and dark cloak out of everything. Really awesome stuff.

I think my wife is rerolling a Stamina build Night blade now, something with the Bow, so I figure specter. LOL

  131. TayDibiase on August 7, 2015 at 11:23 pm

Hey Deltias thanks for the hardwork putting together your ver detailed and amazing builds. I have a question though. Why did you choose the silks of the sun set instead of martial or burning spellweaver?

    • Deltia on August 8, 2015 at 12:59 pm

It’s more damage with medium weaving though it’s getting patched. Also have a YT video testing them too.

  132. TayDibiase on August 8, 2015 at 3:13 am

Hey Deltias thanks for the hardwork putting together your very detailed and amazing builds. I have a question though. Why did you choose the silks of the sun set instead of martial destruction mastery or burning spellweaver?

    • Deltia on August 8, 2015 at 12:59 pm

      Both aren’t near the DPS.

  133. Braxus on August 8, 2015 at 4:29 pm

    Hey Deltia,

Great stuff on here. I was wondering if you would have any suggestions on a Duel weild DK for PvE content. Im not a fan of running around with staff’s or S/B. I did not see any of your builds as such.
Anyway keep up the great work!!

  134. HyperTraceur on August 9, 2015 at 6:55 am

Does molten armaments work as a finisher of some sorts? Does it work with destro staff heavy attacks?

  135. Jess on August 10, 2015 at 3:35 am

Hey man thanks for the video, would you recommend this build for pvp in the new update coming out or are you planning on making a new one??

  136. Kyle on August 10, 2015 at 10:52 pm

Hey deltia been following your laceration build just hit vr1. I’m a vampire as well do you suggest using all the points in the red champion points to reduce the fire damage I take? Like should I only focus on that one til I get it capped or spread it out in others in that tree? Thanks for all your advice been really helping me out so far

    • HyperTraceur on August 13, 2015 at 3:16 am

In my opinion, you should put in at least 30 then go ahead and put in 1 for hardy then keep on going for the fire resistance.

  137. ryan on August 11, 2015 at 7:02 am

Would this build still work well in update 7? I was reading your most recent build but it relies on champion points which i don’t have sadly.

  138. Apav on August 13, 2015 at 4:12 am

Hey Deltia. Love the guide but I’m wondering something. You said in your level 1-25 video that once you get Dragon’s Blood you dropped the Resto staff because now you have self healing. So then why did you decide to go with a resto staff on your backbar in the level 26-50 video? (I’m guessing because you wanted to be able to heal in PvP?)

I just hit level 26 myself, I am using 1h and shield with the same exact abilties you are using on your front bar. But if I wanted to use a destruction staff on my backbar, what abilities would you recommend I use? I mainly level by questing, I don’t want to PvP yet because I’m not all that good and VR characters still have many advantages even though we are scaled to the same level.

  139. Jess on August 13, 2015 at 8:05 am

    Awesome guide! Thanks!

  140. Ryan on August 13, 2015 at 6:13 pm

Hey Deltia thanks for all your hard work!! wondering if you have a build for new characters, one that doesn’t rely on crafted set gear and champion points. any help is much appreciated!

  141. Arne on August 14, 2015 at 9:47 am

    Hi Deltia,
thanks for all the hard work to publish all these builds.
Can you explain ehy the end game PvE Build sets more points in health then the PvP build?

    Sorry for my english

  142. Daniel on August 15, 2015 at 11:27 am

Will this build work in 1.7?

  143. T-Money357 on August 15, 2015 at 7:30 pm

Hey Deltia, huge fan. Watched most of your vids for every class. In your opinion, is your final build still going to be viable in Imperial City? I really don’t want to go a Stamina based dragonknight. Your reassurance would make me feel better as I’ve been using your laceration build all the way through VR14.

    • Deltia on August 16, 2015 at 10:27 pm

      Oh it’ll be just fine.

  144. unholy killer on August 17, 2015 at 5:33 am

I was wondering about staying vamp thru veteran levels. Currently I’m a redguard (i know i picked wrong) dk using this build. I seem to have some issues around taking more damage in veteran dungeons as a vamp. Did you have many issues or did you not even worry about dauntless dailies?

  145. Kingshysterio on August 18, 2015 at 11:46 pm

This was mega helpful. You’re my hero.

  146. Ri ronin on August 20, 2015 at 2:09 am

First off awesome build and thanks for the hard work. Went through 1-50 no problem. I’m working my way through vr1 now. My question is when you respec at vr1, what skills do you usually drop? I neglected to put points into destroy staff and mages guild. I have points into provisioning and clothing which is takeing up some. I know I can catch up with sky shards also.

  147. tuan on August 21, 2015 at 3:44 pm

    can imperials rock this build?

  148. Anthony on August 22, 2015 at 10:32 pm

I enjoy your videos and Ive been rocking this build. I cant find any Sun gear for legs or boots. I been checking every guild trader for a week and no luck.

  149. Anthony on August 22, 2015 at 10:47 pm

Also, I am VR14, been using your build since day 1. Just cant find the boots and legs VR12 sun set.

  150. Kevin on August 23, 2015 at 2:29 pm

Hey, why dont you use Sword and Shield anymore as soon as you hit VR? doesnt that cost you alot of survivabilty?

    • Deltia on August 23, 2015 at 7:25 pm

Its just faster to level through VR levels.

  151. Skav on August 24, 2015 at 3:01 pm

Is Vamp basically useless for pvp now?

    • Deltia on August 25, 2015 at 2:42 pm

No mist form for slow characters still viable

  152. Kelvin on August 25, 2015 at 6:41 am

Hey deltia really like this build and what it has to offer I rolled a orc dk stamina build but love this build would I be able to make it work as an orc do you think?

    Many regards

  153. Thomas on August 27, 2015 at 11:37 am

Hi Deltia. Thanks for this amazing build, it’s absolutely great.

I really like your ‘DK Tank for update 7’ aswell. I can’t choose between these two builds when keeping end game PvE in mind. It looks like DK Tank is pure PvE and Laceration is pure PvP/leveling, so I HAVE to make a choice. Or am I wrong?

I know you said that DK Tank won’t rock the world in PvP, but how does it hold up while leveling?
What’s your role in (end game) PvE with Laceration? Should I focus on doing DPS there aswell? I think sorc’s and NB will always beat me on that and that I should be a healer in PvE, but I would really like to know your thoughts on that.

Cheers mate, keep up the good work!

  154. Dami77 on September 1, 2015 at 7:36 am

Ello, now that supernatural recovery only works with vampire ability slotted what should I do?

    • Deltia on September 3, 2015 at 12:25 am

      Slot something or drop vamp.

  155. Jason on September 1, 2015 at 2:58 pm

    Laceration Dragonknight Leveling Build
Started the Dark Elf 1-25 Laceration that you made I was understanding it with no issues until next part.

I was into this but then you mostly talked about PVP when looking at video 25-50 .
Not having a full understanding of what I will be using etc you go into PVP which yes later I would be interested in but PVE for now.
Can you please explain also if the changes just made yesterday will effect this build now ?

    Thank You,

    • Deltia on September 3, 2015 at 1:19 am

What changes do you mean? The patch, if so yes greatly.

  156. Jason on September 1, 2015 at 3:01 pm

    updated e-mail

  157. Jin on September 5, 2015 at 6:50 pm

Hey Deltia, I am a console player and I really like your DragonKnight Laceration build. I even rolled a Dark elf dragon knight, because of it. I have a question about the Imperial City update when it comes to the consoles. Since, you are already knowledge on the sets in IC. Would a Dragon Knight DPS build do more dps with the Overwhelming surge set than the Dragon Knight Lacreation build with Silks of the Sun set?

  158. Kronvict on September 6, 2015 at 9:20 am

Will you be updating this guide to reflect the new class changes?

    • Deltia on September 6, 2015 at 11:07 pm

Once I figure it out, or I’ll make another post with a link to it.

Deltia, A Group of mine (3) Where doing a Dungeon together in The Alikir Desert (Cant Remember the name) Anyways i was level 45. The Mobs level 46. We got to the last boss which where 3 Huge Dwemer Constructs. Not 3 Seconds into the fight both my Comrades are Dead. Using a combo of the Laceration Knight and the Infernal Warden, i Soloed the Three bosses. Thank you so much for these builds, Without them id never have won that battle haha It was the greatest feeling EVER!

  160. Voldarious on September 9, 2015 at 2:54 pm

So i started off as an imperial to do the tank build but decided i want to DPS. would an imperial still be able to rock this build but just be a little less efficient than a dark elf?

  161. Tnarius on September 9, 2015 at 10:21 pm

I’m returning to the game after playing at the initial launch and have a Lvl 14 Dark Elf Dragonknight that I need to rebuild. Is it worth following this build for now or look for something else/wait for an update given the changes since this was written?

    • Deltia on September 10, 2015 at 10:41 pm

Follow this while leveling, it still works.

  162. Erik D on September 15, 2015 at 5:20 pm

Is is still worth it to become a vamp now with the cyrodiil patch?

    • Deltia on September 16, 2015 at 12:12 pm

For this build, yeah though its for a very specific purpose.

  164. Arne on September 16, 2015 at 9:34 am

    Hi Deltia,

I usually play my DK like you told in this build. But does it works with the same set up in IC / Update 7?
Or would another set replace the Silks of the Sun Set?

Thanks for all the hard work, keep on watching your vids 🙂

  165. Rezz on September 17, 2015 at 1:09 am

Deltia, i love ur laceration build but how about after the patch and some nerfs in imperial city update? Is this build still a really good DPS?

    • specsniper on September 17, 2015 at 5:56 pm

rezz i still use it on ps4 in ic with not the pvp skills and set on but with the pve style with the sun set and im killing everything :p

      • Rezz on September 18, 2015 at 7:42 pm

Ah really? But with the sun set Vr12? And whats the armor for the Vr16 then? U know that? I mean mb to replace the old laceration armor set.
Are u NA server and EP?
Fyi i never finish city of ash because i have no good group to do that dungeon lol
Really want the monster set from there

  166. Anthony on September 18, 2015 at 5:29 pm

Are you going to do an update for the pvp build of this cause of IC?

  167. Rhonn on September 19, 2015 at 2:37 am

I really appreciate your builds. I just started leveling up this one. As a beginning player, I have a suggestion. I think Regeneration is a better choice for healing, than Grand Healing. At lvl. 4, Regen gives 825 health over 20 seconds for 300 Magica. Grand Healing only gives 312 health (104 every 3 seconds) for 481 Magica. And, you have to use Grand Healing in the middle of a fight; if you’re out of Magica, you’re screwed. You can use Regen at the beginning of a fight, when you have plenty of Magica, and let it heal you all through the fight. Much easier, IMHO.

  168. beowoolf on September 20, 2015 at 5:58 am

hey i was wondering could u explain puporse of vamp your final to builds include no vamp skills so ur not getting the benefit of any of the passives so right now all im getting is the debuffs with no real good benefit

thanks in advanced loved this build made me really enjoy coming back to eso

    • Deltia on September 22, 2015 at 1:01 pm

That build was made before update 7, once its update I will no longer be vampire.

  169. beowoolf on September 21, 2015 at 5:41 am

hey I was wondering if you could help me understand why vamp and specially you say run it at 4. In most of your build you do not run any vamp ability especially in your final build so you are not getting any benefit from passives so why have vamp.

thank you really appreciated this build made me love my dk

    • Ri ronin on September 22, 2015 at 1:31 pm

He uses vamp in pvp. Most form, bat swarm. Stage 4 is for the reduced vampire ability costs. I believe he is going to drop vamp though

  170. Thiago Roese, on September 24, 2015 at 11:00 pm

Hey deltias, im from xbox, i have a dk with silks/skoria and torugs….but now with the update 7 i m lost….im using 4 magnus , 2 skoria , 3 willpower and 2 torugs … v16…. can i replace something ? im kind lost because i lost the 5% of fire dmg from silks…sorry about my english btw….great job with the builds, i love your site…thanks !

    • Deltia on September 26, 2015 at 12:36 am

I’m trying my magicka DK with little success as well. It’ll take time to figure out all the tricks in Update 7 as I only focus on one build a week.

  171. J on September 25, 2015 at 3:28 pm

If this is so good then why do I keep dying? Its getting to the point where I just want to quit ESO.

  173. Nephilim_NL on September 27, 2015 at 3:23 pm

Hello there Deltia, thank you for your hard work and dedication! You’ve helped me out loads with your build videos and stuff!

I do have to ask.. Will you be updating this here badboy? I’m really enjoying my Dunmer DK Firemage and I’m at VR11 now. I’m wondering if the gear or skill set up has changed in any way for endgame =)

    Thanks in advance! <3

    • Kfro on September 28, 2015 at 9:39 pm

His laceration is in the works, either already has the gear for it or still needs to get it, but don’t worry laceration love will be here soon!

  174. Britishvampire on September 28, 2015 at 7:21 pm

This build looks quite fun, but is it still viable? and what is the fastest way to level up your skills?

    • Kfro on September 28, 2015 at 9:37 pm

Yes this build is still viable, there are
some changes with gear since Silks of the Sun is v12. But I believe that laceration is still the highest trials dps.

  175. Rothilion on September 30, 2015 at 2:31 am

hey deltia pls write after update gear for pvp

  176. Ken on September 30, 2015 at 9:52 pm

hi, Deltia i was just wondering whether or not you should use Overwhelming Surge set. i brought that up to my guild and at least one person was using it for their dk fire mage and others commented it was like martial knowledge on steroids.

Another thing is how do you make up for the lack of range on a standard dk fire mage because all i can think of is using master inferno staff followed by destructive clench and possibly force pulse from time to time but i’m not sure how effective that is.

    • Kfro on September 30, 2015 at 10:06 pm

Normally what most dk mages would use is force pulse because it deals more damage and a dot.

  177. InPhamouZ on October 1, 2015 at 3:38 pm

    Hi Deltia,

1st of all, great builds and amazing explanation on all of them.
    Now question time, lol.
I understand you are working on this build, trying to make it work with Update 7, do you have an ETA?
I’m also debating between this Build and the Bloody Butcher.

Which one do you think you will publish first for Update 7?

    Thank You!

    • Kfro on October 1, 2015 at 3:56 pm

Both are in the works currently, there is just the problem of gear! Missing a few pieces of things for Laceration and Blood Butcher’s dps is still being worked out. So hold

  178. InPhamouZ on October 1, 2015 at 4:00 pm

    Thanks Kfro.
Now I need to pick a class and stick with it, haha.

    Appreciate the answer.

    • Kfro on October 1, 2015 at 5:28 pm

I go by the rule, play what you like!

      • InPhamouZ on October 1, 2015 at 5:33 pm

haha that’s a good rule, i tend to follow it in other MMORPG, but right now I like too many classes, lol.

I need to make a decision by tonight so I can start on it, haha.

  179. […] Dunmer […]

  180. sebs on October 10, 2015 at 2:46 am

Would it work for a redguard dragon Knight im planning to change from stamina to magicka

    • Kfro on October 10, 2015 at 8:29 pm

Ultimately yes, redguard dk using magicka works. But it isn’t as good if it was a magicka class. Personally I would say play what you like.

Hi I’m having somwhat of a sucsses in 1v1 with my laceration build but getting owened at 1vX, currently vr 10 and was loving this build untill the update, my first is the same but with the removal of GDB for engulfing flames for the 7% fire damage on my whip then back bar restro, with healing ward, ignious shiled, comabt prayer, and atm mutegen but thinking rapid regen may be better, so back bar pop healing ward at low health followed buy ignious then rapid regen or mutegen the combat prayer for healing and damage buff, swithch back to main bar, invasion talons, engulfing flames then whip

armour as i have no new sets yet are 5 seducer 2 turogs for first bar and 2 hist bark for physical resistance.
Any feed back on improving this for 1vX as i’m low on aoe?

  182. Luke on October 15, 2015 at 12:08 pm

oh reflective scales on restro bar too

  183. John on October 25, 2015 at 11:47 am

Is this still a valid build, or heavily nerfed?

    • Kfro on October 26, 2015 at 6:45 am

It is still valid! But required gear has changed. Something like a 5 scathing or 5 twice born with shadow and thief stone, 2 nerien’eth or skoria, 3 willpower, and inferno staves works.

  184. Garrett on October 28, 2015 at 9:08 pm

This build is still working for me so far. Im running 5 piece juggernaut, 5 piece warlock and 3 piece will power.

  185. Matthew on October 29, 2015 at 4:49 pm

Can you list the important passives for (1-25) and (25-VR1). Thanks love your Harvester build… And the format you wrote that guide is awesome. Thanks again

  186. Zack on November 2, 2015 at 6:30 pm

Is there a good substitute for the arena set if I can’t obtain it yet?

    • Deltia on November 3, 2015 at 2:31 pm

      Willows for great regen.

  187. tankelf on November 4, 2015 at 10:41 pm

hey deltia congrats for baby mate 🙂
now i am using 2 part engine guardian, 4 part elfbane, 3 part willpower and 3 part torug pact is it good ?
or am i use 2 part engine guardian, 5 part julianos, 3 part willpower and 2 part torug pact?

    • Deltia on November 5, 2015 at 11:57 am

Yeah sounds very good. I’d probably go with Julianos since you can craft all divines traits if you have the money/mats to do it. I still think Twice Born Star is the best as I’ve tested both.

      • tankelf on November 6, 2015 at 4:16 pm

thnx for reply mate. i ll create twice born star then. which mundus stones ? atronach and mage?

  188. Spikefan74 on November 12, 2015 at 4:43 pm

I am currently level 15 with my DK and I keep doing worse the higher I level. Are DK supposed to be able to handle mobs of 3 or more? I always seem to die. Maybe its my fighting style I don’t know.

    • Deltia on November 16, 2015 at 1:35 am

      Yes any class can.

  189. Ray on November 16, 2015 at 8:20 pm

Would you recommend Julianos 5 piece with Overwhelming 4 piece sword and board or Julianos 5 piece with 3 piece Torug’s, keeping with staves with this build? I don’t have money or 8 traits for Twice born yet.

  190. Rico on November 23, 2015 at 9:16 pm

    Hey Deltia,
Thanks for all the hard work and information about eso. I have been following this build as a new player and just reached VR1. I would like to know if there is any changes you would make towards the build since the new update?

    • Deltia on November 24, 2015 at 11:47 pm

Still playing it in Maelstrom but it’s still relevant.

      • Rico on November 24, 2015 at 11:48 pm

        Thanks for the reply.

  191. Chris on November 24, 2015 at 3:45 am

Hey Deltia, I swear by you in this game lol, I’ve only ever used this build. Its my eso life! Was just wondering now the vamps been nerfed we should just drop it? Really struggling without constant blocking :S, I’ve dropped the mundus stone for magicka in favor of upping crit chance (when it does proc nothing lives lol) its at about 52% (might be slightly higher) I was the major dps of my team but its gotten real tough, I find I’m always running out of magicka now. Atm I’m still vamp, use devouring swarm on front bar (for survivability mainly and I never got on with the chains so I’ve popped mist form their) pve mainly would love it if you revisited this build and get to your creative work and help stay ahead of the game 🙂 #thisbuildisboss:) lol many thanks! Chris

    • Deltia on November 26, 2015 at 12:46 am

I only like my Vampire for PvP. For PvP, great, but you can use Ferocious Leap for a small cost big burst ulty. I’d drop it unless you just PvP.

  192. Ross on November 25, 2015 at 5:50 pm

    HI Deltia,
I second the comments from Chris on the 24th. I would really appreciate if you could update the laceration build for v16. Thanks Deltia!

    • Deltia on November 26, 2015 at 1:10 am

      Just did, and check YT.

      • Ross on November 27, 2015 at 7:15 am

        Thanks Deltia Really appreciate it.

  193. Gamer-J on November 27, 2015 at 12:02 am

Hey Deltia 🙂 I really like your Maelstrom Arena Setup and i will test it as soon as i have the Material for VR16..
    Just two questions..
1.: Which Armor Style do you have and what awesome Colours do you have there *_*?
2.: Will you update Laceration for Group Content like White-Gold-Tower?
    Thanks Deltia!

    • Gamer-J on November 27, 2015 at 12:06 am

Or is the Maelstrom Build viable for Group Content?

  194. Bahadır Eren on December 1, 2015 at 2:13 pm

Hello whats if i am going to this build with my nord dk ? should i go with dunmer is that realy important ?

    • Deltia on December 3, 2015 at 2:45 pm

I would, I rerolled a character I spent 500 hours and it was worth it totally.

  195. ri ronin on December 2, 2015 at 3:26 am

I’ve been using this build since I’ve started playing, it’s awesome. I have a few questions though. I’m vet 16, have willpower with max spell dmg glyphs, 5 piece julionas vet 16 with max enchants also. I’m wearing a two piece tourgs pact that’s vet 15 purple. Apprentice Mundas stone. I’m pushing 2454 spell damage. Tonight I was told that I was low on dmg and that someone this kid knows that has a magicka DK has 3900 spell dmg. Does magicka attribute points raise DK spell dmg? I raised mine and nothing happens. What is the amount of spell dmg I should have? I know if I could get the maelstrom arena inferno staff I that would add more spell dmg. Does putting champion points into tharmatuage raise your character sheet spell dmg? I know it doesn’t for elemental expert.

    • Deltia on December 3, 2015 at 2:47 pm

CP does not raise damage but yes it does rate your overall magicka. When I had 700 CP, I was around 45,000 magicka. If you’re using Julianos you should be around 3,000 buffed and that’s plenty.

      • Ri ronin on December 3, 2015 at 3:30 pm

Should I have all devines on my gear, currently I have 2 and the rest is infused. I’m also running the apprentice mundus stone.

        • Deltia on December 4, 2015 at 12:40 am

          I do with Thief mundus.

  196. Dansk on December 5, 2015 at 10:05 am

In yourMArena build description you say “If you like to do PvP, or swap mundus stones a good substitute is Julianos.” Why is jullianos better vor pvp or did i misunderstand that comment? Thx

  197. Dutch on December 7, 2015 at 11:50 am

Hey deltias, im new to the gameand wgaswondering if mage light could replaced by inferno? Also im a dark elf is vampire still a thing?

    • Deltia on December 7, 2015 at 12:21 pm

Yes but it’s not as good, yes.

  198. Kevin on December 14, 2015 at 2:18 pm

Is this the latest DK build?

  199. S7ewie on December 17, 2015 at 10:20 am

Is this build good for general PvE (the updated one)? If not what would you recommend?

  200. Daniel on December 18, 2015 at 5:35 am

Can I sub in valkyn skoria for pve?

    • Deltia on December 19, 2015 at 8:56 pm

      Yeah it still works well.

  201. Pablo on December 18, 2015 at 7:29 pm

First at all , sorry for my bad english. But i just wanted to tell you Deltia, how awesome is your work. I,m playing for a couple of weeks, and following 2 of your builds (sorcerer pvp and laceration dk) and your explain method in videos are f*kng perfect. Just Thank you!

Read about your new incoming real life state, and have to say congrats. But been egoist, hope you will be back soon !!! .

A small question if is possible, i wanted to do the DK as vampire, with this build, lvl40 right now, is worth it? i listen some ppl complaining about vampire is nerfed and is not worth it..

Again thank you! Regard from Spain

    • Deltia on December 19, 2015 at 8:58 pm

I love it for leveling and group PvP but it has downsides. Lower CP players will deal with higher fire damage but when you get Devouring Swarms on a DK it’s easy mode for leveling. Your choice, try it, but level it up completely before you get rid.

  202. Ryan on January 5, 2016 at 6:27 pm

Hey I was wondering about recent gameplay. Is the willpower set better for jewelry? Is julianos Better than the sun set? Any input considering recent updates would be greatly appreciated.

    • Deltia on January 8, 2016 at 2:33 pm

Yes to both, they are a lot more damage than the old setup.

  203. Guillaume on January 9, 2016 at 1:08 pm

Thank you fo all your builds, they are awsome! Your website is my bible for TESO :p

I would like to know if a set with 5 julianos and 3 torug is really good for this build? I would like to recraft my stuff and I have to be sure 🙂

    • Deltia on January 11, 2016 at 5:44 pm

      Yes it’d work great.

  204. Topithus on January 12, 2016 at 8:05 pm

First off, I have to thank you for all your hard work. I can only guess how much time and effort it takes, and you’ve done a fantastic job. I’ve followed this DK build ever since I started playing ESO on Xbox One. My DPS has been praised by many, and I owe it all to you.

Question. Why is TBS better than Julianos? From what I’ve been reading, at 360+ champion points, you’ll get more of a benefit from Julianos than TBS. Is that factual? Would this only be true for magicaka sorcs, and not magicka DKs? But I know you’re at 501, and swear by TBS — as do I since I’m wearing it. 🙂

Also, is TBS for magicka DK viable in pvp? I’m good about not switching mundus stones but I do enjoy pvp…

Any help on this, man? Thank you for your time.

    • Deltia on January 18, 2016 at 7:57 pm

TBS turns out isn’t better than Julianos. After more testing, I’d go with Julinaos and thief mundus stone.

TBS isn’t your best bet for DK PvP. I like going Atro, 5 pc heavy armor using Elf Bane and recovery jewelry. I hope this helps.

      • Topithus on January 21, 2016 at 4:43 pm

Thanks for the response. Too bad about TBS. I’ll go with Julianos, and see how I like it. At least I can switch sets again. Ha. Would you go with infused on the helm, chest and legs? Or stick with all divines?

And thanks for the input on pvp. This has been a struggling factor for me. I have a few Elf bane pieces, so I’ll look into that. Still using Blood Spawn or Engine Guardian? I’m guessing 2 light Seducer for recovery would be good…

        • Deltia on January 22, 2016 at 8:55 pm

I do all divines with Thief mundus

          Both sets are very good

  205. Topithus on January 13, 2016 at 5:52 pm

Damn. Sorry for the double post. Thought my previous one never got posted…

    • Deltia on January 18, 2016 at 7:59 pm

Took me a min to approve I responded.

  206. Lorry on January 28, 2016 at 6:25 pm

I’m now playing with your NB khajit spectre build. This is a weapon based (stamina) class. I really love it. I also want to make a sorcerer’s (Magicka) class for that i’ll probably use a high elf. I always aim to make the most out of the classes that I choose. So for the DK, which of your builds do you think is the best in DPS and the most fun to play? these can be 2 different builds if you think that one build is more fun than the build that has the heighest DPS.

    • Deltia on January 29, 2016 at 3:15 pm

Best damage in the current meta with BiS gear is Burning Butcher, my favorite is still Laceration though solo PvP Brutal Butcher. If I had to pick one, it’d be Laceration Magicka DK.

  207. Peter on January 31, 2016 at 8:02 pm

    Hello Deltia,

I would like to know why are you using the destruction staff and not dualwield ?? It seems everyone is running DW for more spell damage.
And i mean the DK does a lot of dmg in melee range anyway, so why not DW ?

    • Deltia on February 1, 2016 at 1:15 pm

Because the DK specifically benefits from Heavy Attack weaving due to Igneous Weapons. Your heavy attacks can alone hit for 30k.

      • RI ronin on February 26, 2016 at 5:32 pm

Here I’ve been weaving light attacks between my molten whip. Looks like I should back bar ingenious for boss fights and heavy weave In between

  208. Irwin Adarve on January 31, 2016 at 10:04 pm

Is this build still viable in the current meta? Or should I just make a stamina DK? and which is more fun? Thanks!

    • Deltia on February 1, 2016 at 1:17 pm

Yes it still works great, depending if you like stamina or magicka.

  209. Zeke on February 3, 2016 at 8:46 am

Hey, Deltia, thanks for this build, really, I love the whole idea of being a fire mage and just got back into ESO! Really looking forward to it this year, and your guides for all the classes have been a huge help for a starter.

  210. Trav Nasty on February 4, 2016 at 3:50 am

I’m just curious if this build is still effective currently, I’m a vampire dunmer. I’ve been following this build and am currently VR2, thus far it’s been VERY effective. But I don’t seem to hit like a truck, as you say in other videos. Is this due to changes in the game or my play-style?

    • Deltia on February 4, 2016 at 4:10 am

Well it’s about to change with the Thieves Guild update 🙂

  211. Matthew on February 6, 2016 at 4:19 am

I was wondering which set to use for my destro staff. I primarily use sword and board with 4 pc Seducer’s but when I swap to destro staff, I’m down to 2 pc Also was wondering what I could use besides Way of the Arena.

  212. Gnox on February 9, 2016 at 9:54 am

Thanks for all your awesome builds. Do you have any updates for the Thieves Guild Patch? A new PVE/PVP build based on Fiery Grip / Igneous Weapons?

    • Deltia on February 9, 2016 at 5:16 pm

Yes but I’ll need time to test and theorycraft and collect additional info from other great DKs like Swag and Vokul.

  213. Jay on February 9, 2016 at 5:04 pm

First LOVE THIS GUIDE! great work!

I have a Dark Elf DK and am using DW (currently lvl 13). I just like the look aesthetically. I simply do not like S/S but will have to swap I’m assuming because of end game content. I’m currently spreading my skill points on heath/stamina and 1/3 to Magika just to PvE.

Does S/B level faster at higher levels due to more XP? Ie I can just put the icon on my bar and let it level post 30? or should I add it now? my DW is 20+ AF 20+ and DP are 18 or so. Should I add Earthen Heart and S/S on my bar just to level them up? or wait until lvl 15 when the 2nd bar opens up for me!

    • Deltia on February 10, 2016 at 2:50 pm

Yes, skills lines level based on amount of xp. Add it now so they all level up.

  214. Dylan on February 14, 2016 at 4:12 am

When is this build going to be updated?

  215. Ozzy on February 17, 2016 at 12:09 pm

Hey deltia, I play on ps4 and I’ve got a v4 dunmer dk and I was wondering if the pvp build is still good to go and would you still choose vampirism?
Also I can only craft up to six traits so I don’t really know what sets to use..
5p seducers combined with Torug’s Pact maybe?
I do have a necklace and 2 rings of the warlock although they’re v1 but I don’t think that matters much as I still get the set bonus.

  216. holybible on February 19, 2016 at 11:44 pm

what is better to use right now for the gear 5 piece julianos or 5 piece sun

  217. Matthew on February 20, 2016 at 7:16 pm

I’m still leveling my dk. She’s a level 32 redguard. I understand I don’t have the same passives as a dark elf, but I feel like I’m struggling at times. I’m not sure if it’s my bar loadout, gear, or what. I have both Seducer and Torug’s Pact as gear. I use sword and shield for main bar and resto staff as backup. I haven’t done any pvp. So, I don’t have access to alliance war abilities. Any help from anyone would be great.

  218. Tom on February 21, 2016 at 4:56 am

hey deltia why no dual wield for more spell damage in laceration?

    • Deltia on February 21, 2016 at 7:39 pm

Because heavy attack damage with staff.

  219. Luke on February 22, 2016 at 1:47 pm

I really hope mag dk is viable in pvp again, hopefully with the changes to champion points stacking in to elemental expert and thaumaterge will see my damage raise, I can imagine empowering chains then dawnbreaker being a thing lol.

Anyway here’s the question do you think s+b for physical resistance and empowering chains for gap closer or dual wield for spell damage, would you still use invasion?
I’m thinking talons, chains embers, whip, scales and dawn breaker on bar 1, then if we still require restro it will be healing ward, spiked armour for healing revived and major resists with blessing of restoration for min resists scales and draw essence, I want to use ignious for mending but it breaks too quick imo. Would love to use destro on the back bar again.

Also in pvp would you recommend Kag/mag or Julianos?

Hope this is readable I’m typing on phone at work haha

  220. Adil on February 27, 2016 at 12:09 am

I really need help building my magicka DK. I was hoping for some that makes me a tank on PVP as well as PVE. I’m new to the game so this my only character and, I levelled it up to VR1. I’m on PS4 so I can’t be as good as you PC guys at there. 😛

  221. NaPoLieoN on March 1, 2016 at 10:22 pm

For which update/vrank/date is this build updated for?
Because I have a Dragonknight Vampire Dunmer, that could really use a respec for a better build 🙂

    • NaPoLieoN on March 1, 2016 at 10:24 pm

Also, is there a place I can see at which date the individual posts have been posted/edited/updated? If not that would be a nice feature!
And thank for the nice guides @Deltia ! 🙂

      • Deltia on March 2, 2016 at 2:44 pm

Yes I’ll start adding that to each guide.

    • Deltia on March 2, 2016 at 2:44 pm

I’ll update it in Thieves Guild but works fine now.

  222. Andrew on March 3, 2016 at 1:25 pm

  223. Blair C on March 3, 2016 at 7:23 pm

  226. Slade on March 13, 2016 at 6:16 pm

Hey deltia, I’m just wondering if this build and guide is still Viable to follow currently? I know it is a bit old and things get changed around with patches and what not. I’ve just started playing in December but I am a long time gamer of many of mmos. But I really want to and have been following your guide. Any feedback is much appreciated

  227. Mosher on March 17, 2016 at 7:11 am

How do you play (specifically vMA) without structured entropy? Are all your skills on your bars worth sacrificing 20% spell damage + 8% max health?

    • Mosawer Sabur on April 3, 2016 at 10:54 pm

Please reply I need to know 🙂
      Sorry to bother you.
And I know you use Molten weapons as buff nowadays.

      • holybible on April 4, 2016 at 7:00 pm

        spellpower potions
and you dont need the 8% max health cuz youve already reached the 20k mark plus the potions give you additional spell crit

  228. Lost on March 27, 2016 at 11:19 pm

Hey how are you? Anyway to update this build for us after thieves guild just need to know if it’s still viable best set to use etc. Any help would be great.

    • Deltia on March 28, 2016 at 12:39 pm

Yes I’m working on it and Specter first.

      • Ri ronin on March 28, 2016 at 2:21 pm

I’m guessing it will include elemental blockade. Man it’s a beast on a dunmer DK

  229. Derek on April 1, 2016 at 12:32 pm

Good substitute for engine guardian? Have twice born star but are there an non monster helms that can somewhat help out?

    • Deltia on April 3, 2016 at 3:50 pm

Plenty, Ner’enith is good for damage, Skoria or Seducers 2pc for more regen.

  230. An Evil Puppy on April 5, 2016 at 6:27 pm

Hello again. I was wondering if I could get your take on the revamped thumaturge. Sorry about the spelling. How would you distribute your points between that and elemental expert. As a lover of this build just want to know what the best use would be of both. Thanks in advance.

  231. Mike on April 7, 2016 at 1:14 am

Thanks Deltia for all the hard work and great builds, I really enjoy magicika DK, but being new to the game i get really concerned with no ranged abilities in pvp. In my head i visualize lots of ranged combat. Even tho most people post videos of them stomping some small group with proxy det. is force shock ability strong enuff to use as range? Anyone who could assist with clarification of needing range or not i guess could help id appreciate it.

    • Deltia on April 7, 2016 at 3:16 pm

FS is good, just not great. The DKs strengths is getting in their, talons, proxy and boom. You can make it work, but you have nothing else but Chains to go with it. Honestly try the new morphs of chains Unrelenting. Just spam it on people for a range attack, it’s hilarious.

      • Mike on April 7, 2016 at 3:36 pm

Thanks! I may just switch to templar for a healthy mix between range and melee

      • Mike on April 9, 2016 at 10:55 pm

One more dumb question why not use destruction touch as a filler range ability

        • Deltia on April 10, 2016 at 3:54 pm

Because it cost a lot of magicka and is not as effect as Whip or Force Pulse.

  232. Japheth on April 9, 2016 at 11:32 am

Could I jut run destruction staff and restostaff or do I need to have sword and board

    • Deltia on April 9, 2016 at 3:27 pm

Yeah if that works better for you.

  233. Freeman on April 11, 2016 at 8:49 pm

Deltia, just wondering, are you planning to post/make a DK Healer. I have a VR16 one who works really well and if you want advice, I’de be willing to help.

  234. Sharpfangjr on April 15, 2016 at 2:33 pm

Since I don’t PvP, what would be a good restoration staff loadout for PvE?

    • Deltia on April 15, 2016 at 9:42 pm

I’m updating it today and will use double Destruction Staffs if you’re refering to the end game PVE build.

      • Ron Goodrich on April 19, 2016 at 12:51 pm

So with that in mind would you still dip into sword & board at low level or just power through with destro/resto or destro/destro?

        • Deltia on April 19, 2016 at 1:29 pm

It’s nice for block reduction and you’re so hard to kill. But you could always just do double Destro if you don’t want to respec.

      • Sharpfangjr on April 20, 2016 at 1:44 am

Apologies. I’m referring to the pre-Vet leveling.

        • Deltia on April 20, 2016 at 8:02 pm

Reduced cost like Seducers or Magnus.

  235. Alex on April 15, 2016 at 8:17 pm

Deltia you are such a legend mate !! Love your vids fella just wanted to ask would you agree stamina builds are rubbish now compare to magic ??

    • Deltia on April 15, 2016 at 9:42 pm

Absolutely not, I do just as much damage on my Stamina DK/Templar as I do on magicka.

  236. Ross on April 16, 2016 at 10:48 am

Can’t wait to see the no death run! I can’t get past stage 3 on my magicka dk, I get CC’d to death. I really want to see how you did it.

    • Deltia on April 16, 2016 at 7:17 pm

It’s up now and was probably one of the hardest. I just spent a lot of time (2 days) practicing and about 10 runs in total to get it.

  237. GamersKong on April 17, 2016 at 8:21 pm

Deltia, I love the build (Magicka DK) and I did a few changes to suit my needs. I just have one question. Why did you decide to remove the draw essence skill? Is it still a viable skill to use with the updated Maelstrom build? I feel like it is a great combination with Proximity Detention plus the healing is a nice bonus.

    • Deltia on April 17, 2016 at 9:06 pm

Yes but it becomes expensive in later rounds when I can just use Blockade and have enough AoE. If you like it, try it just high magicka cost.

  238. Northonegamer on April 21, 2016 at 9:47 am

If I was to go all light Armor what changes should I be considering using this buildeal? PVP would be my end goal. Appreciate any response 🙂

    • Deltia on April 21, 2016 at 7:12 pm

I use Kag all Impenetrable and that works.

  239. xNo1s-Perfectx on April 22, 2016 at 10:58 pm

Delta where’s your newest laceration build, I’d much like to give it a try

    • xNo1s-Perfectx on April 22, 2016 at 10:59 pm

I mean the written build for it, not the video

    • Deltia on April 23, 2016 at 12:46 pm

It’s in here PvE with link.

  240. Ryan on April 23, 2016 at 5:01 pm

Hey Deltia thanks for the build update. My question is why cant we use dual swords like sorcs on lave whip bar. Wouldnt extra spell power and damage be better than weaving for damage? I play with many sorcs who say I should. Trying to show guild mates magika dk is as good as dps as any. Do sorcs out perform with an end game build?

    • Deltia on April 23, 2016 at 6:46 pm

You can but you’ll miss out on a lot of damage from weaving and regeneration. I tried it and I blow through magicka way to fast. From what I’m told, Sorcs are considered the lowest sustained DPS. They can pull massive DPS using Overload, but other than that, not as much as other classes. That being said, I’m sure their are really good Sorcs that can out DPS my DK 🙂

      • Ryan on April 23, 2016 at 6:50 pm

Sounds good. Thanks for your help. Honestly I love my magika DK. How are magika templars doing these days? Need to decide on a second build.

  241. Skyhawk760 on May 2, 2016 at 8:10 am

Why heavy so much heavy armor for the PvP gear? If I do 5pc light, 1pc med, and 1pc heavy, will it ruin the PvPness?

    • Skyhawk760 on May 2, 2016 at 8:23 am

Why so much heavy armor, rather.

  242. Thedoctor421 on May 2, 2016 at 3:41 pm

I’m a veteran level 16 dk dark elf. I need to finish cyrodil, cragLorn, thieves guild maelstrom arena. What order should I beat em in and what build should I use to get started. Cause I was gonna do one of your builds but the armor you need to get you have to do other stuff. So is there any build used to work up to getting where I need to be to get said armor. I need a step by step. I guess I need someone to hold my hand lol.

    • Thedoctor421 on May 2, 2016 at 3:57 pm

      Also need to finish undaunted

  243. truls on May 3, 2016 at 10:17 pm

I have made a brethon laceration dk, and leveled it all the way to vt1 now. have i made a huge mistake?? or is it close to the dunmer in race-pick ?

    • Deltia on May 4, 2016 at 10:41 am

Breton is still very good plus spell resist is great when playing a vamp. It’s not the “best” choice but it’s a close second.

  244. Trepidation on May 4, 2016 at 11:39 am

Deltia – What do you recommend for an easy to play DK build?

  245. Thedoctor421 on May 4, 2016 at 5:35 pm

Which one of these builds should I use? Are there any that are universal? I need to beat undaunted, cyrodil alliance, Imperial city maelstrom, thieves guild, dark brotherhood. Please help. If it’s too much detail to get into let me know I’ll give my email and you could help me and I’ll make it worth your while

    • Deltia on May 6, 2016 at 1:06 pm

Laceration S/B build can do IC, PvP and semi tank dungeons.

  246. Ryan on May 6, 2016 at 9:47 pm

Hey Deltia. Wondering if you would mind sharing the race you would pick for the future poison stam dk build. Went with redgaurd but still low level so could reroll.

    • Deltia on May 7, 2016 at 9:30 am

That’s the best for PvE DPS for sure. I personally love my Orc for solo PvP.

  247. iarao on May 7, 2016 at 10:03 pm

hi deltia. i am a bit confused on the PvP Laceration build. the gear setup on the website (hvy / light) is not the same as the pdf (light / med ). the staves are not the same either. the pdf says it is pve/pvp. i dont see anything on the website that says this online build is updated. the pdf is from 2015. which do i use for pvp endgame pls?

    • Deltia on May 9, 2016 at 10:06 am

PvP end game I’d go with heavy armor. I’ll do an update once heavy armor gets changed in Dark Brotherhood.

  248. dook on May 12, 2016 at 2:12 pm

As a new player this is pretty confusing, why is there no passives? I still have no clue how to build this.

  249. Kahsa on May 13, 2016 at 5:44 pm

Hi Deltia! With improvements to Stam damage (which I don’t understand but have heard about) coming in DB, do you still think PvP DK/DPS should go Magika as optimum, or is Stam build an option. I made a Dark Elf DK, but am torm between working toward Magika or Stam? Wondering if I shoulda made Imperial instead too? Any help appreciated!

  250. Sean on May 20, 2016 at 5:49 pm

Hey delta, how do I increase spell power further? I have all the gear above (5 julianos, 2 engine guardian, 3 willpower) and unbuffed my spell power is 2190.

    • Kfro on May 20, 2016 at 11:18 pm

Well having gold gear is one way, the second is your glyphs on your jewelry should be spell power, the third is trying to get two vma/vdsa pyro staves and finally cp in elemental expert won’t increase spell power but will cause you to do more damage than the spell power shows.

    • Ri ronin on June 12, 2016 at 2:32 am

You can go 5 Julianos, 1 kena 2 torgues, spell power on your jewelry. Currently I sit at around 2600 unbuffed, which is more than enough for a dk

  251. Isaiah on June 11, 2016 at 5:25 pm

I’ve been keeping an eye on this build while playing my magicka DK, and am curious what it would look like during Dark Brotherhood. When you have the chance, would you mind looking iinto what changes would need to happen to make this excellent for the update, considwering all the DK changes. Thank you for your time in advance!

  252. Ri ronin on June 12, 2016 at 2:37 am

I’m curious to what the best staff is going to be for db. I have the vet mal Fire staff. Are the updated enchants and nirnhoned going to make it obsolete. I was thinking spell dmg increase/sharpened on A torgues staff. Wish I played on a pc, so I could test all stuff.

  253. Josefandersen7 on June 16, 2016 at 11:04 pm

Hey Deltia, I’m currently running this build, almost at least. I’m running 5x Julianos and 3x Magnus’ and 3x Bahraha’s on jewelry. I’m trying to get Valkyn Skoria, and then I’ll try to get the Maelstrom staves, and in time I’ll get the Willpower set too.
But I’m wondering if I should be looking for other stuff/is this build still optimal/what changes should there be done to it now that the Dark Brotherhood DLC is out.
Or simply put, when will you update this build? 🙂
Thank you for your time and effort ^_^

    • Deltia on June 19, 2016 at 6:29 pm

The PvE DPS is current, I just need to test out Burning Embers DPS then I’ll update.

  254. Bubbliest on August 9, 2016 at 2:33 am

this still good for shadow of the hist?

    • Deltia on August 10, 2016 at 8:31 pm

Yes minus some of the latest gear like Infal where you sit with Moltan Arm and just heavy attack. Really fun gameplay….

  255. Ryan on September 12, 2016 at 6:59 pm

Hey Deltia. If you don’t mind could I get your opinion on current bis gear setup for mag dk (2.5)? Running 5 silks of the sun 5 Juliannos and 1 kena. Any advice is appreciated.

  256. SkipQ on September 21, 2016 at 4:57 am

On one of you posts on Youtube you mentioned you would be scaling back on the builds you would update, sticking mostly to your Templar builds. (And I understand, your Family should always come before a game.) I was wondering if you had any suggestions for someone/somewhere to look up for Magika DK builds?

  257. old bat on September 21, 2016 at 10:59 am

i have been led to believe that a magicka dk is not a really viable build since db came out?
