There is no shortage of powerful characters in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment. Every playable hero in Ancient Hyrule has brought their A-game to fend off Ganondorf and his forces from taking over. While each of them are effective in their own right, not all are created equally or balanced. Most players may rely on one hero throughout their playthrough for certain reasons.

A-TierYou can count on these characters in a skirmish.
B-TierEveryone listed here can manage in a fight, but will require effort to deal with powerful attacks.
C-TierThese characters do not offer the best benefits or have more useful abilities than those listed above.

It is worth noting that most of the lower-tier characters, under the C-tier, were a few of the early playable characters. You will unlock more of them, and most will have better stats and abilities. There will be little to no reason to go back to using these characters, knowing you have better options.
