The Mantis Shrimp’s ability triggers every 5 to 15 minutes, and the pet punches an object in your garden at random. The boost it provides depends on whether the object it punches is another pet, plant, egg, or your player character. The table below explains the Mantis Shrimp’s pet trait.

How To Get
Apart from trading, the only way to get a Mantis Shrimp is by reaching level 40 of the Season 2 Pass in Grow a Garden. You do not need the Premium Pass for it, but that also nets you a Giant version of the pet. Season 2 Pass ends on December 6, 2025, and you have till then to get the pet.
The best way to get to level 40 of the Season 2 Pass is to target the active quests in the Pass Menu. These refresh every 24 hours, and give you ample XP to reach not only the Mantis Shrimp but also other rewards in the past, which include other pets such as the Hydra. Harvesting plants also nets you XP, with rarer fruits such as Divine and Transcendent ones giving you more XP. After reaching level 40 in the Season 2 Pass, you can go to the Pass Menu and claim the Mantis Shrimp pet for your own. It will appear in your inventory.
