Crimson Desert is easily one of the biggest releases of 2026, simply due to the pedigree of its developers. Coming from the South Korea-based studio, Pearl Abyss, Crimson Desert is a spiritual follow up to the smash-hit MMORPG, Black Desert Online. However, instead of being another MMO, akin to Black Desert, Crimson Desert is the studio’s very first foray into the single-player RPG genre.
Although the game was announced back in 2020, a confirmed release date for Crimson Desert was revealed quite recently. Furthermore, the game is currently available for pre-order on all platforms. When Can You Pre-Load Crimson Desert?
Crimson Desert is scheduled to be released on March 19, 2026. Although the game’s marketing has mostly been on the PlayStation side, it’s a multi-platform release. In fact, the game is getting a simultaneous release on MacOS alongside other platforms. Developed using the same in-house BlackSpace engine, Crimson Desert is coming to all current-gen systems, i.e., PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
That said, according to the game’s listing on PlayStation Store, pre-load for Crimson Desert is expected to go live on March 17, 2026. Essentially, players are getting roughly 48 hours to pre-load the game and keep it ready for release. As for Xbox, the pre-load schedule has not been announced, yet. However, for third-party games, Xbox usually follows a similar schedule as PS5.
On PC, however, players will have to wait for an official statement from Pearl Abyss. Steam usually allows pre-loads roughly 24 hours prior to a game’s launch. However, some developers tend to skip the pre-load step for the PC version of their games.
What Is The File Size For Crimson Desert?
According to the official PC system requirements, Crimson Desert requires roughly 100 GB of SSD storage. That said, system requirements usually tend to exaggerate the actual file size of a game. However, the game’s actual download and file size will be somewhere between the ballpark of 70-90 GB.
What Are The Pre-Order Bonuses For Crimson Desert?
The pre-order bonuses for Crimson Desert includes two things – the Khaled Shield and the Grotevant Plate set. However, the latter is a PS5 exclusive, and cannot be obtained on other platforms.
