The Third Trial of Aql is one of the shortest quests in Dune Awakening. The essence of this mission lies in the exploration rather than the objectives. Furthermore, all of the missions in this particular storyline work as a path to learn more about the Fremen and their culture. In return, players get various schematics for new tools and mechanics in their research trees as a reward.

Now, the game won’t tell you the pinpoint location of the Third Trial of Aql. Instead, it will give you the description of the region the cave is in. These hints are vague at best, and they incentivize exploration instead of following objective markers. However, it is alright if you get confused and cannot find the point of interest. To find the cave in question, you will have to travel to the Western Vermillius Gap. Once there, go towards the mountain on the western edge of the area. The place you are looking for is named the Cave of the Lost Pilgrim. The entrance of said cave will be sealed to block out any moisture going out. So, after finding it, you can cut the seal with your knife.

Also, you might encounter Drumsand and Quicksand for the very first time near the Cave of the Lost Pilgrim. All of the areas with these different kinds of sands will be marked with giant red circles so you can easily identify them. Carefully navigate through these areas to reach the cave safely.

Once inside, follow the linear path. On your way, you will have to defeat various enemies. After that, keep going forward to find yet another sealed door. Move past it and keep walking. Eventually, you will come across the altar. However, this time, the altar will be destroyed, and you won’t find any spice to inhale. So, simply listen to the audio recording there to complete the Third Trial of Aql in Dune Awakening.
