The new Enshrouded Wake of the Water update lets you unlock the mill, which unlocks new crafting options. With this new building, you unlock higher-tier armor sets and special materials like gold dust, aquamarine dust, and more. Needless to say, you will need to get the mill as soon as possible to make your base more efficient.

That said, here is a guide on how you can unlock the mill in the Enshrouded Wake of the Water update. We’ll do a breakdown on where to go, what to do, and how to activate the mill.

To craft the mill in Enshrouded Wake of the Water, you need to interact with the alchemist. Check the Production Place section and use the necessary materials to craft one. You will need a lot of resources, so make sure you farm beforehand. Here is a quick rundown of the recipe:

  • 30x Wooden Planks
  • 20x Stone
  • 10x Lump of Clay
  • 10x Iron Bars
  • 1x Improved MIllstone

The hardest to find out of all the resources is the Improved Millstone. This item requires you to solve a puzzle somewhere in the Veilwater Basin biome. Keep in mind that you need to power up your mill by building either a water wheel or windmill sails. This means you’ll need more than the materials required to make it functional.

To find the Improved Millstone in the Enshrouded Wake of the Water update, you need to head to Reverreach in Dragondream Lake. Find a sawmill area where enemies will be waiting for you. Clear the room so you won’t have any problems later on. Once you do, head outside through the southeast door.

Just below the door you exited, there will be a hole you can squeeze through. This will take you to the water mill, where you can grab the Improved Millstone in the middle of the room. However, you first need to stop the water from flowing to yank it out of the mechanism.

Head back to the sawmill above and exit through the west door. You will find a giant water wheel outside. Go around and head between the two water wheels. There will be a hole you can jump down. Go down to the water level and find two levers facing north of the map.

Activate two levers to stop the water from flowing. This will also stop the watermill above and let you grab the Improved Millstone. Head back to the watermill and press E to collect the item. While out exploring, perhaps you can find some good fishing spots. Keep an eye out for potential hotspots where you are more likely to catch rare fish that randomly spawn in bodies of water.

What the Mill Does in Enshrouded Wake of the Water

What the Mill Does in Enshrouded Wake of the Water

The mill grinds precious stones and minerals and turns them into dust. These can then be used as crafting materials for various items in the game. Here is a quick rundown of the items you can get:

  • Iron Bar = Iron Dust
  • Gold Bar = Gold Dust
  • Acquamarine = Aquamarine Dust
  • Pear = Mother-Of-Pearl

Once you finish grinding the previous stones and minerals into dust, you can head to various survivors to check out some new crafting options. For the Blacksmith, you can craft Level 43 armor sets. If you approach an Alchemist, you will be able to craft potions that can help you stay in the water for longer periods, like the Diver’s Endurance Flask.
