Welcome to the ESO Upper Craglorn Grind guide. Want a quick, fun way to reach Veteran Rank 14? Well I got a guide for you! There’s a group of bosses in Upper Craglorn that have high Veteran Points rewards and no this is not an exploit. I’ll show you the loop in order to get the most XP possible so let’s get started!

The Math
This loop is known as the Upper Craglorn grind. One of the best ESO grinds or experience spots in the game. Before we discuss the loop, I want to talk about the math behind leveling this way. For whatever reason, you get more Veteran Points (VP) once you reach Veteran Rank (VR) eight than you do below. No idea why, but it really speeds up after that point.
- NOTE: Appears VR ranks 1-2 only award 8,000 VP points.
- VR 3– 7 earn 22,000 VP each boss kill
- 1 loop has 9 bosses for a total of 198,000 VP per run
- In my video, we ran the loop in 7 minutes
- You can do 8.5 loops per hour
- So you’re looking at 1.68 million per hour in these level ranges
- VR 8 – 14 earn 37,000 VP each boss kill
- 1 loop has 9 bosses for a total of 333,000 VP per run
- In my video, we ran the loop in 7 minutes
- You can do 8.5 loops per hour
- So you’re looking at 2.83 million per hour in these level ranges
NOTE: If this is your first character, I recommend seeing the full story and completing quest. But if you’re like me and play 3 alts, I just want to get to end game. The advantage of this run is one, it’s not an exploit, two it’s fun, and three the bosses drop good loot. Now let’s go over the exact loop.
The Loop
- First Boss – Wolf Timberfang
- Has a few adds and will enrage if not downed quickly. Just AoE Damage the boss along with any nearby mobs to prevent the enrage timer.
- Second Boss – Skarath of the Many
- This boss is a simple tank and spank with a few adds. Interesting part is once near death, you’ll see a large group of adds appear. Make sure to just DPS down the boss then finish the adds.
- Third Boss – Vazzanipiz the Queen
- Easy wasp boss that has some small adds. Just tank and spank her down and make sure to clear all the mobs in the area.
- Fourth and Fifth Bosses – Regent Soteras (caster) and Mazaluhad (melee)
- Have a tank pull the melee boss away from the caster. DPS down the back archers or they’ll hit you hard. Have someone constantly interrupt the caster and down her first. Once she’s down, and the archers, go back to the melee boss and finish him.
- Now we back track and reverse the loop the let the bosses respawn.
- Sixth Boss – Kharg of the Stone
- He’s a Dragonknight type boss and drops the powerful Standard at the beginning of the fight. Just make sure to roll or move out of the big red circle of death and nuke him down.
- Seventh and Eighth Bosses – Zymel Ozarus (Storm Atronach) and Anyaq (Caster)
- These are the hardest bosses you’ll encounter. Don’t die like me J First a tank should take the Atronach away from the group. His red circle has about a 20 meter radius and hits very hard so keep your distance. Second someone with a ranged interrupt should be on the caster. All the DPS focus down Zymel while one person interrupts the caster and this fight isn’t bad.
- Back to the first boss Timberfang who’s already respawned.
So that’s the loop. You can do the math behind the run and calculate the exact time it would take for your character. That’s a little too much for me. Honestly, experience the story and the game first. If you have and just want to reach end-game, then this loop might be for you. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy!
This still viable deltia
dose this still work before i try it
hey Deltia your video seems to be gone???
Yes I removed it as it doesn’t work.
Deltia do I need a group to grind this loop?
Srry stoopid question deltia
So, whats a good place for VR grinding then at this point? VR7 at the moment, orsinium hasnt hit PS4 yet
My ESO Power Leveling video series is still showing every spot that I use to get to VR16.
