Everything you need to know about the Premetamorphic Green Hunter in Lies of P Overture, its weaknesses, how to defeat it, and more.

The Premetamorphic Green Hunter is among the very few bosses in Lies of P Overture that are on the lower end of the difficulty scale. As is the case with most souls-like DLCs, Overture comes with a substantial increase in difficulty, whether in the form of regular enemy encounters or boss fights. Although the DLC is accessible fairly early in the game’s main story progression, it is meant to be tackled as an endgame quest.
Most of the bosses in Overture are scaled for the endgame, with some even surpassing the base game’s final boss in terms of difficulty. Although the Premetamorphic Green Hunter is not as difficult as its base game counterpart, it is still a challenging boss.
Here is everything you need to know about the Premetamorphic Green Hunter in Lies of P Overture and how to easily defeat it.
Overview of the Premetamorphic Green Hunter in Lies of P Overture

The Premetamorphic Green Hunter is essentially a younger version of the Green Monster of the Swamp boss from the base game. As such, it exhibits more or less the same movesets as its base game counterpart, with a few key differences. First, the Premetamorphic Green Hunter has only one phase in its boss fight. It is a simple and short encounter, which you can wrap up in under a minute if you play your cards right.
Second, the Premetamorphic Green Hunter has a very limited arsenal of combos. The boss has two primary attacks that you need to be mindful of. Additionally, it has the ability to inflict Decay.
Much like the Green Monster of the Swamp, the Premetamorphic Green Hunter can burrow into the ground. It then follows up with an unblockable attack, which you can dodge, but it is best to perfect block it. The timing for parrying this combo is quite generous. If you succeed in parrying the unblockable attack, you will be rewarded with a brief window to deal damage. Additionally, if you are using Motivity weapons, you can practically keep the boss stun-locked after every other combo.
It is a fairly easy boss fight that provides more context on the Green Monster and how it made its way to Krat.
Recommended Build Types for the Premetamorphic Green Hunter
For the Premetamorphic Green Hunter, we highly recommend using an Advance build. Since Fire is the boss’s primary weakness, you can melt its HP bar in no time with Fire weapons. Additionally, this is one of the very few encounters in Lies of P that work really well with the Royal Horn Bow.
The Premetamorphic Green Hunter is not as agile as its base game counterpart. This gives you enough room to shoot the boss with the Bow’s Fabled Art and stagger it. You can also imbue the Bow with Fire and deal bonus damage to the boss and its posture.
Tips To Easily Defeat the Premetamorphic Green Hunter

Here are some tips that should help you easily defeat the Prematamorphic Green Hunter:
- At the start of the boss fight, the Premetamorphic Green Hunter will always lunge at you with a rush attack, followed by a 4-hit combo. Make sure you have Acid Resistance armor equipped to prevent Decay buildup. We recommend trying to parry the initial onslaught of attacks, as that can open the boss up for a brutal attack.
- While Fire is very useful during this encounter, you can also use Shock to deal extra damage to the boss. Note that Acid will not have any effect on the Premetamorphic Green Hunter. If you are using a Technique build, we highly recommend switching to Proof of Humanity or Seven-Coil Spring Sword for this boss fight.
- Make sure to use charged heavy attacks instead of light attack combos, as that will deplete the boss’s poise much faster. You can stick to the boss’s hind limbs to stay away from its scream and tentacle combos. Note that once the Premetamorphic Green Hunter starts digging, the game will unlock your camera.
- Lastly, if you are having trouble defeating the boss, remember that you can always return to it later. The Premetamorphic Green Hunter is an optional boss and can be tackled even after finishing the DLC.
