Dune Awakening’s Arrakis is a desert planet full of danger. There are enemy camps all over the map, sandworms all underground, and relentless scorching you from above. Despite all the dangers, most players still push on to explore the map due to its vast secrets, resources, and, most importantly, buried treasures.
There are dozens of buried treasures all over Arrakis, lying in wait deep under the sand. The game introduces you to the concept of buried treasure in the appropriately titled “Buried Treasure” quest. In this quest, you have to unbury a treasure, but before you do so, you need the right tools.

How To Find and Unbury Buried Treasure in Dune Awakening

To obtain buried treasure, you first need to find it. The sands of Arrakis are vast, and finding a treasure here is far worse than finding a needle in a haystack. To find a buried treasure, you need the Handheld Resource Scanner Tool. You can research and acquire a schematic for this tool with 5x Intel Points. Once you have the schematic, you can craft it using the Fabricator with the following ingredients:
- 9x Iron Ingot
- 6x EMF Generator
To unbury the treasure you find, you’ll need the Static Compactor. You unlock this schematic by simply progressing through the game, and you can then craft it at the Fabricator using:
- 10x Iron Ingot
- 7x EMF Generator x7
With both tools in hand, head over to the desert. Equip your Handheld Resource Scanner and use it to scan the ground. The device will send out an electromagnetic wave, which will also scan for buried treasure. Eventually, the device will find a buried treasure and mark it for you. Head over to the marker and pull out the Static Compactor. Aim the device at the marker and pull the buried treasure off the ground.
