Building a Water Cistern expands your water storage capacity and allows you to seamlessly store water from Windtraps in Dune Awakening.

Obtaining and managing water effectively is crucial to survive the harsh lands of Arrakis. After collecting water through various means, such as the Blood Purifier or Windtraps, you need a reliable way to store it for later use. Although Literjons let you store and carry water on the go, the Water Cistern offers a large storage solution. Water Cisterns are fragile containers that can be placed at your base to hold a significant amount of water.

How To Build Water Cistern in Dune Awakening

To craft a Water Cistern, you will need to first research its schematics in the Research tab. You can find the Water Cistern schematic under the Copper products section in the Water Discipline category. Once you have unlocked the schematics, you can then use the Construction Tool to build a Water Cistern at your base.

With the Construction Tool equipped, aim the Water Cistern hologram from the build menu and place it at the desired position. You need 20x Copper Ingot, which can be smelted from Copper ore at the Small Ore Refinery.

After building a Water Cistern, interact with the container to deposit or extract water. You can also monitor the current water capacity stored in the container. Constructing multiple Water Cisterns allows you to seamlessly collect and store water from Windtraps, streamlining the automated water farming process.

The Water Cistern can store up to 5000 ml of water. As you progress, you can unlock the schematics for the Medium Water Cistern and Large Water Cistern, which offer even greater storage capacity.
