Banette is great Ghost-type Pokemon to use in Legends Z-A. Although it does not have access to a large variety of moves, you can still get a large amount of coverage with the right choices.
This guide will show you how to build the best Banette, including its moveset, nature, and how to utilize its Mega Evolution.
Best Banette Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A
- Phantom Force
- Gunk Shot
- Will-o-Wisp/Knock Off
- Curse
Banette doesn’t have the most impressive stats. However, despite this, you can definitely utilize its Attack stat to deal good damage. This goes even more so during its Mega Evolution.
Phantom Force is a hard-to-avoid Ghost-type Physical attack. This move not only gains Same Type Attack Boost (STAB) from Banette’s Ghost-typing, but it also has a high base power on its own. On top of this, the move makes your Pokemon briefly invulnerable (or targetable), which will waste some of your opponent’s time.
Gunk Shot is a Poison-type move with extremely high power and a good chance to poison the foe as well. Poison is one of the most useful status effects in the game, and even more so in ranked matches. On top of that, this will let you hit the weakness of many common Fairy-type Pokemon as well.
Will-o-Wisp or Knock Off can be your third pick. The choice is yours, and it will depend on what type of Pokemon you encounter in ranked battles more. Knock Off will be great if you are encountering lots of Pokemon with Held Items (excluding items like Mega Stones). However, if you are instead matched up against Mega Evolutions with high stats, then Will-o-Wisp will let you apply Burn on them.
Lastly, Curse will be your finishing move with Banette. Once you get low to the point of defeat, you can choose to use Curse and sacrifice your Pokemon. This will reduce your opponent’s HP over time or force them into immediately switching. This move is best saved for later, once they have used up their switches.
Best Banette Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
You should focus on increasing three stats predominantly for Banette. The first two would be its Defense and Special Defense, while the last would be its Attack. So, you can use a Nature Mint to change the Nature into:
- Adamant (+Atk/-SpA)
- Careful (+SpD/-SpA)
- Impish(+Def/-SpA)
If you want more damage, go with Adamant. The other two Natures will help in surviving.
Banette Stats and Location
You can evolve Shuppet into Banette at level 37. You can get Shuppet in Wild Zone 7 and 15 at night. Alternatively, you can straightaway find an Alpha Banette in Wild Zone 15. Banette’s stats are as follows:
- HP: 64
- Attack: 115
- Defense: 65
- Special Attack: 83
- Special Defense: 63
- Speed: 65
You can Mega Evolve Banette after defeating Rogue Mega Banette. The stats for this Pokemon are:
- HP: 64
- Attack: 165
- Defense: 75
- Special Attack: 93
- Special Defense: 83
- Speed: 75
