Goodbye, Gengar in Pokemon Legends Z-A is a side quest about finding a lost Gengar around Bleu Sector 9. This quest also requires you to finish another side quest before you can start it. Goodbye, Gengar takes you on a journey to four different locations, looking after the lost Gengar. Here’s a brief guide on how to complete the Goodbye, Gengar side quest.
Goodbye, Gengar Side Quest Walkthrough in Pokemon Legends Z-A
1. Reach Main Story Mission 39
Before you can start the Gengar side quest, you need to reach Main Story Mission 39, finish it and talk to Vinnie and Jett. They can be found at Quasartico Inc., in Lumiose City’s Magenta District.
2. Finish Side Mission 117
After you complete the main mission, you have another side quest to complete. Josee’s Training (Side Mission 117) has to be completed at the Justice Dojo.
3. Find Ganger
After completing the requirements, you can proceed to do the Goodbye, Gengar Side Quest. Head to the Old Building in Bleu Sector 9. The fastest way to travel there is through the Cafe Soleil Fast Travel location. You’ll meet Ganger there, where you have to interact with him to start the quest.
4. Go to Justice Dojo
After talking to Ganger, head to the Justice Dojo again. But this time, you’ll be battling Gwynn, a Ghost-Type specialist. All her Pokemon are weak against Dark-Type moves, so make sure to get as many Dark-Type-Pokemon as you can. After beating her, she will talk with you and travel to a different location.
5. Travel to Hotel Richissime
After defeating Gywnn, you can find her and Ganger at the front of Hotel Richissime. You’ll be treated to a small cutscene and directed to head to another location. The cutscene explains that there are clues about spotting the missing Gengar in different locations.
6. Go to Vert Sector 9
Locate the next quest marker on your map inside Vert Sector 9, and go there. You’ll reach a waterway in the sector, where Gwynn will be waiting for you. The area is full of rocks, so make sure to hold a Pokemon that has Rock Smash.
7. Travel to Galerie de la Lune
The final spot is in the middle of Galerie de la Lune. Speak to Gywnn to trigger the final cutscene for the quest. This completes the side mission 118 Goodbye, Gengar in Pokemon Legends Z-A.
