Will there be weapon augmentations in Starfield?
Though this is not a confirmed component of gameplay yet, it’s a good bet that Augmentations will be an essential mechanic of the game. Let’s take a look at what Starfield Augmentations might look like, and how they could be used to improve gameplay.
The first new intellectual property developed by Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years, Starfield is a hotly anticipated AAA single player, action role playing game which takes place across the vastness of space. Originally scheduled for release in late 2022, Starfield’s new release date is now set for September 6, 2023!
Starfield Augmentations
Augmentations (or perhaps called modifications, we don’t yet know the exact term Starfield will use) are components which the player can use to enhance or change their gear and weapons in game. In some games, doing so can cause the change to be permanent, while other games have mechanics which allow the player to change their mind and switch out augmentations later on.
Augmentations should be available through purchase from merchants, as quest rewards, drops from enemies, and built through crafting. No specific details on any of the augmentations for Starfield have been released, but we’ll be updating this page with relevant information as soon as we have it.
