The first new intellectual property developed by Bethesda Game Studios in 25 years, Starfield is a hotly anticipated AAA single player, action role playing game which takes place across the vastness of space. Originally scheduled for release in November of 2022, the game had been delayed to an unspecified date sometime in the first half of 2023. This space exploration game will have many of the typical Bethesda game hallmarks – a robust main story and side quests, elaborate character creation, and an extraordinary amount of exploration.
Starfield Release Date
A surprise announcement today dropped the exciting news that Starfield’s new release date is now set for September 6, 2023!
In addition, in the video above, game director Todd Howard says Bethesda and Microsoft will now hold a Starfield direct event on June 11th to detail the game.
“This June, we’re going to bring you into the studio and give you a deep dive in the game at our Starfield direct,” says Howard. “There’s so much that we still have to show you.”
This direct event will follow Microsoft’s annual Xbox showcase on Sunday June 11th.
Starfield will release exclusively to Xbox Series X|S and on Microsoft Windows PCs. As of the time of this video Bethesda has not released any information on pre-orders or the potential various game editions which will become available for purchase. As soon as more information drops about this game we’ll be sure to update the information here!
