Everything you need to know about Stellar Blade’s PC optimization, including the best settings to use for optimal performance and visuals.

Stellar Blade is just a few hours away from making its debut on PC. The former PlayStation exclusive was easily one of the biggest releases of last year, garnering overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and players alike. The game also came as a surprise to many, considering it was the very first foray into the Triple-A gaming scene for developer Shift Up.
However, with its jaw-dropping visuals, compelling narrative, and above all, an excellent combat system, Stellar Blade ended up being one of the most memorable games of 2024. Now, the game is finally making its way to PC. Surprisingly enough, despite being built using Unreal Engine 4, Stellar Blade is incredibly well-optimized on PC.
Even if you’re planning to play the game on an older system with limited VRAM, you can still easily hit 60fps with minimal graphical compromise. However, to do so, you will need to make some tweaks in the game’s graphics settings. To help with that, here’s a comprehensive PC optimization guide for Stellar Blade.
Note: This guide is based on the Stellar Blade demo, which uses the same core functionality and settings as the final release version. We will update this guide once we get our hands on the retail version of Stellar Blade.

Best Settings for Stellar Blade PC

Much like any other Unreal Engine 4 title, Stellar Blade is mostly GPU-bound, with very little impact on the CPU. As such, you can easily get the game running at 60fps or above, as long as you have a decent 4-core or higher CPU. However, the game does use a lot of VRAM, even at 1080p. In the demo, we easily went well past the 8 GB limit on an RTX 3070 using the Ultra preset.
Lowering Environment Textures to High helped keep VRAM usage in check. If you’re using a 6 GB VRAM GPU, we highly recommend keeping Environment and Character Textures set to Medium. Apart from that, the game isn’t very demanding.
Here are the optimized and recommended settings to use for Stellar Blade PC:
Graphics Settings | Low | Recommended | Ultra |
---|---|---|---|
Anti-Aliasing | TAA | Upscaling (DLAA or FSR Native) | Upscaling (DLAA or FSR Native) |
Environment Texture | Medium | High | Very High |
Character Texture | High | Very High | Very High |
Shadow Quality | Medium | High | Very High |
Volumetric Fog | Medium | High | Very High |
Ambient Occlusion | Medium | Very High | Very High |
Depth of Field | Off | On (can affect performance in cutscenes) | On |
