PvP Healer Build HERE

Objective

To create a simple, fun and effective healer for The Elder Scrolls Online.

Healing is still my favorite role in ESO and in large part because you don’t just ONLY heal. You do damage, execute the boss and defend your allies.  It’s active fun and truthfully, a lot easier than other MMO’s.  Why?  Well we as Templars can give back resources both stamina and magicka on demand AND we can heal without Line of Sight via Breath of Life.  Even though it only heals two players now, it’s still the most powerful heal in the game.

LET ME GIVE YOU MY TOP FIVE TIPS TO HEALING IN ESO

5. Pre-Fight Buffs – If you want to get a good leg up on the fight about to unfold, make sure you have a solid plan to buff your allies beforehand.  Meaning, get Heals over Time (HoTs) rolling via Rapid Regeneration, lay down your Extended Ritual for 25% more healing, fire up Proxy Det for massive AoE burst and hit Combat Pray right as your allies go into the fray.  Getting a good start, will help with a good finish.  Practice your pre-fight buff rotation.

4.  Position – Remember you’re the healer, AKA the Co-Captain of the defense.  Make sure you tell other players where to stand and why prior to fights.  Why?  Well when they stand in red and die, they will blame you anyways.  It’s my job to know the fights, tell people about it and what to avoid.  Less healing I’m doing, more damage I do, faster the fight goes.

3.  Communication – It’s perfectly okay to say “Jimmy, please don’t stand in red by that Gargoyle.”  EVERYONE has and will step in red or do something be accident, it just happens.  Most of the times, people just don’t know the mechanics of the fights and how to avoid damage.  You the healer need to tell them.  Also, if someone is taking an excessive amount of damage, find out why.  “John, you’re taking a lot of damage have you ate your food, repaired your gear, etc?”  I’d rather have an offended John then constantly wipe in the dungeon over and over.

2. Damage – This is ESO NOT another MMO, healers do damage.  Your goal as a healer is to do the most damage possible and heal secondarily.  People laugh when I say this, but it makes dungeons a breeze if you think offensively first.  No I’m not saying don’t heal, just realize that you should be providing damage in between buffs and heals.  That leads me into my last and favorite tip for new healers.

1. STOP OVER HEALING – STOP IT, if everyone is at 100% health, stop casting Breath of Life.  I’m okay with reapplying your buffs a little early, but there’s no need to constantly heal when everyone is alive and well, do damage instead.  YOU CANNOT HEAL A MOB TO DEATH though I’ve seen a great many healers try.  Constantly think “can I do damage right now instead of healing?”  If the answer is yes, do damage.  An example of this is let’s say my party is taking damage and 3 of us are at around 70% health. If my HoTs are up, Ritual is down, I don’t heal.  I use my next second to throw a Spear, recast Purifying Light or something offensive.  If their heal continues to drop, then I heal.  Why is this important?  Most builds have some type of healing already built into them so you don’t need to constantly top them off, HoTs will do that.  Burst heal with BoL when someone drops drastically then find out why.  If you make this one change, you’ll be the best healer in your group.

Skills

The Battery Skills for Thieves Guild

Dual Wield (Swords) – For extra spell power, our main bar for healing, damage and execute.

  1. Inner Light (morph of Mage light | Mages Guild skill line) – This is a must have due to the major critical bonus, max magicka and recovery.  Note, that this no longer needs to be double slotted and we put it on our primary bar only.  If you have extra magicka, you can toggle it once prior to a fight to get an Empower (20% more damage on the next attack) for a powerful Shooting Star.  Once cast, the Shooting Star will also proc another Empower which you can use on Blazing Spear.  This is for trash pulls (non boss pack of mobs) where you just need everyone to do damage up front.  Even as a healer, you’ll nuke stuff.
  2. Purifying Light (morph of Backlash | Dawn’s Wrath skill line) – A great damage tool that has can heal nearby targets for a good duration.  I constantly keep this active to proc more ultimate, more spell power and it can solely keep my tank and melee allies alive.  If you’re not using this, you need to.
  3. FLEX – Radiant Oppression (morph of Radiant Destruction | Dawn’s Wrath skill line) – One of the best finishers in the game though you should use it around 30% no higher.  I still use this as a healer, why?  Well things need to die and if my HoTs are rolling I’ll help burn the boss down.  Just make sure to block/cancel this if someone healths drops below 50%.  Practice clicking block during a beam so it becomes natural otherwise you’ll lose some allies during finishing phase.
    • Elemental Drain (morph of Weakness to Elemental | Destruction Staff skill line) – If you’re healing a Trial like AA, Hel Ra, or SO you’re probably going to be ask to run more buffs.  In this case, I carry a Destruction Staff on me for magicka users weaving in and out attacks.  It’s extra important in the latest Trial where fights last much longer.
  4. Blazing Spear (morph of Spear Shards | Aedric Spear skill line) – Monster AoE with a great synergy.  I prefer this morph over the added magicka bonus (more damage, less problems).  Puncturing Sweeps is more damage but the added utility is too much for me to pass up.  I even spam this in single target situations and my damage does fine.
  5. Breath of Life (morph of Rushed Ceremony | Restoring Light skill line) – The best healing ability in the game, period.  Make sure to not over use this, when allies are at 80% no need to BoL.  When someone drops low, say below %50 now BoL.  It’s an expensive heal, so when it doubt try to let your HoTs do the work over spamming this.
  6. Shooting Star (morph of Meteor | Mages Guild skill line) – I use this on my primary bar for extra magicka and regeneration.  You can even slot Barrier (Alliance War) for 10% more magicka recovery if you’re struggling.  I’ll use this in trash pulls but during boss fights, the damage reduction via Nova is too powerful to pass up.

Restoration Staff – Meant for buffs and defensive ultimate.

  1. FLEX – Proximity Detonation (morph of Magicka Detention | Alliance War Assault skill line) – An absolute AoE juggernaut and good single target damage too.  I play more offensive so casting this prior to a pull ensures a good start to our teams damage.  I’ll recast this in between buff phases when everyone is topped off.  I consider this our flex spot on bar two so if you don’t have it, or want more utility swap it in and out.
    • Channeled Focus (morph of Rune Focus | Restoring Light skill line) – A massive boost to our sustained.  If you’re low in Champion Points or want more defense, use this skill.
  2. Extended Ritual (morph of Cleansing Ritual | Restoring Light skill line) – This ability got a massive boost in healing power due to the Focus Healing passive.  You get 25% more healing while staying in your Ritual and for 8 seconds after.  Plus it does a HoT which adds up to our overall healing power.  Lay this down prior to a major pull and keep it up 100%.  Major Mending is too good to pass up.
  3. Repentance (morph of Restoring Aura | Restoring Light skill line) – One of the best abilities in the game, making almost all PvE content require a Templar.  Give you a free heal, stamina for everyone and regeneration for having it slotted.  The way to use this is repent every 1-3 corpses.  On my build this can crit heal everyone for 8k with Major Mending up.  That is only with one corpse!  Now image two or more.  Don’t wait until the fight is over to use this, use it every body or so.
  4. Rapid Regeneration (morph of Regeneration | Restoration Staff skill line) –  A powerful 16 second HoT that can also give back magicka via the Maelstrom Staff.  Remember you’ll have to spam cast this 2 or more times depending on your parties size but make sure to get HoTs rolling pre and during fights.
  5. FLEX – Combat Pray (morph of Blessings of Protection | Restoration Staff skill line) – A decent heal with a monster damage boost though consider this your flex spot especially if your DPS are Nightblades are using Grim Focus (same buff).
    • Sipirt Siphon (morph of Force Siphon | Restoration Staff skill line) – Another major boost to magicka build sustained, this skill gives us magicka return off hit similar to Elemental Drain.  If both are up, magicka builds can sustained indefinitely with a  little regen and potions on cool down.  Consider using this when healing a Trial/Raid.
    • Harness Magicka (morph of Annulment | Light Armor skill line) – Useful flex spot for Imperial Prisons final boss or anything with massive magicka damage.
  6. [Ultimate] Solar Prison (morph of Nova | Dawn’s Wrath skill line) – A super powerful damage mitigation ultimate with a synergy that wrecks face for any Templar in my opinion.  If you need more healing or you’re running out of magicka constantly, flex in Remembrance on bar one, but you need Nova on bar two.

Important Passives

  • Burning Light and Piercing Spear (Aedric Spear) – Burning Light adds tons of damage to spears/sweeps and Piercing Spear even adds to our critical heals.
  • Prism and Illuminate (Dawn’s Wrath) – Faster ultimate generation is a must along with boosting allies spell power.
  • Mending (Restoring Light) – This gives bigger heals the lower our allies health making it optimal to only use BoL on low health friendlies.
  • Focused Healing (Restoring Light) – a must have due to Major Mending in combination with Ritual to make our healing insane.
  • Restoring Light — Take them all, it matters.
  • Light Armor — Take them all, again its helpful.

Gear The Battery Gear chart for Thieves GuildThe Battery Gear Picture for Thieves GuildOption 1

  • Worm’s Raiment Set (AKA Worm Cult)- We can now obtain VR16 version of this set via Maw of Lorkhaj on normal mode.  This is the uber set for group utility, 5% reduced magicka for everyone (including you).  It’s expensive and hard to get but worth it if you want Best in Slot (BiS) healer gear.  Go with all divines traits if you can and I like one regeneration on my jewelry and two spell damage.
  • Spell Power Cure – The second BiS setup due to its duration (now 10 seconds) and damage increase to your party.  With these two sets combined, you will provide an absolute monster boost to your parties DPS and sustained giving you the name Battery.
  • Torug’s Pact – Go with double swords for more spell damage alone with Precise traits for healing only (Nirn if you want to do DPS too).
  • Maelstrom Staff – I like precise as well, just make sure you charge this a lot prior to each dungeon run as Rapid Regeneration will proc it a lot.

Option 2

  • Engine Guardian – Sustained and stamina matter greatly in Update 7 and I highly recommend considering Engine Guardian.  Not only does it flood you with resources, but you can use the corpses as a free Repentance heal. Obtained by completing Darkshade Cavern Veteran mode final boss, and Shoulders through Undaunted pledges.
  • Kagrenac’s Hope – 8 trait craftable set found in Fighter’s Guild Earth Forge (after completing story).  This is soooo helpful I cannot begin to tell you the power that in IC, you get spell power for the five piece.  I even use this as a DPS set and enjoy it’s benefits.
  • Willpower Set – Monster magicka and spell damage comes from this set though it can be hard to find.  Obtained through Veteran Dungeons and Treasure Vaults.

Champion Points

Blue

I do a four way split between Elf Born (spell crit strength), Thuamaturge (DoT damage), Elemental Expert (flame and magic damage) and Blessed (healing).  I do not go hog wild into Blessed and Elfborn because I’m offensive minded.  Yes you can get 40k Breath of Lifes, but does anyone really have 40k health anyways?  You have to kill bosses, not heal them.

Red

I do 40/40/40 in Hardy, Elemental Defender and Thick Skinned with the left over points 47 into Quick Recovery.  Is this the best setup? No idea but it works for me.

Green

I do an even split between reduced cost and recovery (83/84).  Some say to go heavy into reduced cost but when I try I don’t have the same sustained.  This works for me.

Misc

  • Race Choice – 1) Breton for reduced cost and max magicka 2) High Elf for max magicka and recovery 3) Dunmer for max magicka and flexibility if you wanted to play something else.
  • Werewolf or Vampire – I don’t see a point for either with this build, could you? Sure, but I don’t mess with it now.
  • Attributes – Since our gear doesn’t have any added health, I put 10 points into health and the rest magicka with magicka glyphs.  I like around 18k health or 20k but remember, more health you have, the less damage and healing you’ll do.  There’s no point in a 40k health healer.
  • Mundus Stone – I prefer the Thief for extra criticals.  This works well if I switch to DPS as well.  For pure healing potential, the Ritual is a great choice but it doesn’t effect our damage.  Those struggling with resources should try the Atronach or the Mage.
  • Food and Drink – Go bi-stat to get the most magicka as possible.

Deltia, on console if you do not double bar inner light/mage light you will not receive bonus. Same goes for repentance. I’ve tested this repeatedly.

The effect is applied to the bar you are currently on, regardless of being on console or PC (I am on XB1). Your HoT crits will be calculated based on the character stats at the time of the tick, not from the stats at the time of casting. This is the same mechanic as DoT abilities. Instant abilities will obviously be calculated based on the character stats at the time of casting. As it is a baseline game mechanic, platform will have no effect on the use of these abilities whatsoever.

Yes but you don’t benefit from repentance added regen on both bars. So it makes sense to double bar it. Repentance gives you a bonus just from having it slotted. As does inner light. I double bar repentance but I don’t inner light.

The way I read it is Repentance was only meant to be on one bar and was not being used for the slotting passive. The slotting bonus was only a perk. The free heal and instant Stamina for stam deeps is the only reason I use it.

The reason I said this is deltia says you do no need to double bar these.. is he saying this because active effects do not disappear if you weapon swap now?

He said you dont need to slot light twice because its no longer a toggle pre patch on swap toggles needed to be recasted not the case for light any more as the crit is a sloted passave and repentance is not being used for its sloting passave it is being used for free stam and heals

    Hey Deltia,
I’m not sure I understand why you chose dual wield, especially since i don’t see you using any of the skills for dual wield on your bar? I have a vr7 templar and I use destro and resto, but mainly want to focus on healing. Can you tell me why you chose that?
Thanks so much, already using two of your builds now, stam sorc, and the specter, you are freakin awesome!!!

If you read well that post he says that it’s not only if you have 40000+ magicka, if you do that math, you will find that could be more viable also if you don’t have that amount of magicka. Read also the answer that he gave to me. 😉
Ty again for your reply, I really like what you do! 🙂
p.s. I’m planning to run magicka NB with Julianos+torugs, when dlc comes out.. I jusy wonder how could I do with no magicka regen on any gear piece.. how would you solve this problem? Bye mate!

          • Sam says

            October 13, 2015 at 5:55 PM

The author details a 4-step process to determine whether using a 2H Sword or DW 1H Swords is more beneficial. I added the steps and equation below, but I am thinking that the 40k Magicka is an over-simplification that does not take any buffs or passives into account. The author also notes that this only applies for damaging abilities and not straight healing abilities (besides the healing-for-damage-done abilities like Puncturing Sweep).

            1. Unequip your weapon(s) and apply buffs (food, potions, skills, etc.)
            2. Open Character sheet and record Magicka and Spell Damage
            3. Calculate (0.05 * Magicka) + (0.525 * Spell Damage)
            4. If result of calculation is greater than 2035 use 2H Sword, else use DW 1H Swords.

I see this as a topic much like how we both feel about attribute points, Deltia. Simplifications just don’t work all the time as there are a lot of factors involved.

I was using the Rage glyph on one of my DW, and it wasn’t doing much in the way of improving anything regarding spell power. I decided to go with a shield glyph instead since I tend to solo play or roll with players with less knowledge or skill (tanks running with 2H and werewolf, or DPS rolling non-crit builds with DW daggers and resto staff….wtf??) and the shield gives me much more survivability coupled with points in Bastion. I can solo most 3rd tier elites in upper craglorn with full set of light armor and a broomstick backup on the xb1.

They say use dual wields when healing because your spell damage goes up, therefore healing and doing damage more than you would with a staff, Ex my current spell damage is 5500 with a resto staff, but once i switch bars to my dual wield my spell damage increases by roughly 300-500 so it gives you an extra boost, Nobody knows if that was intended when the game launched but they never changed it so we assume it was put there for a reason. I currently use it with my Vet Healer and it really is helpful in that last ditch effort for magic

He used dual wield because with dual wield you get more spell damage. The higher your spell damage is the better your heals are. if you want to heal for an insane amount more and be more significant as a healer to other players then I recommend this build

So, I’m trying out your build and it looks pretty effective. But I went to make glyphs and I don’t think you’re able to make a glyph for spell power for weapons? I was wondering if that was a typo? Please advise.

Is it the Glyph of Rage? I’ve seen a couple discussions where it was proposed that the Rage glyph increases both weapon and spell damage by [x] amount for [y] time.

If not a typo then what is the glyph? There’s not a spell power glyph for weapons. I spent about an hour confused out of my mind, searching the internet and asking guildies.

Your video says no enchants on the swords. Why not put that instead of spell power (which doesn’t exist).

After looking around the past couple days, I am thinking it IS the Glyph of Rage. Reports I am seeing (albeit, from year old posts) show that:
          1) Healing spell “damage” is based off Weapon Damage and Magicka, not spell power.
          2) “Power” in the Rage enchant may apply to both Spell Power and Weapon Power at the same time.

Seeing conflicting reports, combined with my inability to test the ideas (console user), is very confusing… which forces me to rely on reports from my favorite twitch/youtuber for answers.

Yes it does increase power but still requires you to use a melee attack to get the benefit from the glyph if using it on duel wield swords.

            September 29, 2015 at 8:05 PM

Even if it does require a melee attack to procc, weaving in light attacks and it activating on two weapons…. that’s beast mode right there.

How the heck do you get your spell power so high? I have enchanted ring set and Torugs pact swords and I am just at 2400… Add in the 200 for kagrenacs and you get 2600… What sort of magic do you wield?

I also got problems with sustain so far with this build. I am planning to place magicka drain on my dual wield in case I am forced to swing at it. Good idea or better to just swap bar and start normal attacks?

No because the tooltip of the passive states that you must use a duel wield ability to get the benefits from the passive. The only passive you should use is twin blade cause that does give a boost to spell dmg and controlled fury if you are using quick cloak in pvp/some pve fights.

There are no spell power glyphs for weapons since with the swords because you won’t be using melee attacks against enemies and only magicka attacks so you won’t recieve any benefit from the glyph.

What he means by side bar is that skills he would swap onto his bar depending on what type of fight. For example, magicka heavy fights will call for using annulment over another skill on your bar.

I dont mean to accuse you of hacking or anything, but your non buffed spell damage with you resto staff equipped is way higher than it should be. I get the extra spell damage from dual wielding and its passives, but in the video you switch back to resto staff and your spell damage is 2446.

To put that in perspective, I have the exact same gear as you – only its V16 and gold and my resto staff spell damage is nowhere near that much. Something is wrong here.

Okay, so in your build you run engine guardian helm and shoulders. After finally getting the helmet, I’ve realized it’s just not as helpful as everyone makes it out to be. With my vet 16 Breton Templar I run everything the same but I wear molag kenas shoulders for spell power and a torugs pact hat. I run torugs dual wield swords and torugs resto staff as well. So when I switch I keep the spell damage buff. While in dps mode, I gain 1k health. The engine guardian set just doesn’t do anything for those that don’t have problems with resource management. Running 2803 spell damage I buffed, 32k Magic and 25k health is much better for pve and pvp than what the engine guardian set offers. This is just my opinion though. Play style is a big consideration on it too I guess.

I hear what you’re saying. I just finished the entire gear set by completing Engine Guardian and swapping out my Torugs. It actually nerfed my spell power when I am on staff quite a bit at the same time I cant run my dual wield bar too long for lack of sustain.

In PvP impen is really nice against critical hits but infused and divines will give you more of a magicka pool and or spell damage to hit those higher heals. Plus constantly reapply channeled focus/combat prayer for major resolve and major ward. Plus with combat prayer you and your allies will gain minor berserk which increases damage by 8%.

Along the way i have tried different magicka builds with light & heavy armor, with infused & impenetrable traits, so i have a notion. But with veteran 16 “somewhat rare drops” mats, i obviously want to study the best possible combination, because collecting 150mats per piece is …. uff :p I hope Orsinium have a better drop rate in that matter …

Great site! Thanks for breaking every thing down and explaining it all.

In champion points under the Lord you have 80 points in bastion for damage absorption, what exactly does this help? Don’t see any shields in this build so I must be missing something.

Also, could you clarify which is better, spell cost reduction or magika recovery, saw you split your points between the two.

Barrier if you use it, mostly for the passives.

Two splits because of diminishing returns, meaning you’re most likely to get more benefit with a 50/50% rather than 100% in cost reduction.

Even if not primarily PVP, it’s impossible to do sewers or ic without any pvp in mind.

I’m a bit confused by the weapon enchantments. For Weapon 1, it says “Spell Power” but I don’t think there are spell power enchs for weapons. For Weapon 2, it says “Magicka Return” but I think that should only proc when you attack with the weapon, and you’re never attacking with your swords, right?

Hey Deltia, I love this build.

When IC was dropped I immediately constructed this and I love it. I have made a couple minor changes that I thought I would share.

First: Dropped Engine Guardian set in place of Molag Kena helm. The extra spell damage was worth it IMO.

Second: I dropped Dual Wield for 2 handed Great Sword. With this gear, the calculations worked and damage skills like puncturing sweeps hits much harder.

I have found that I do rely more on potions for regen and resource management (Alchemy skill at 50 with Medicinal Use) since getting rid of the engine guardian, but honestly Tony (my engine guardian sphere) isn’t really missed.

I also find this build a bit more versatile for moving into PVP.

    Cheers,
    Swagger

I was under the impression that a 2 handed sword did not increase healing but damaging spells as opposed to dual wield swords that apply their damage and sp buffs to healing spells. For DPS it is better but the research I have seen shows 2h is not for healing.

Hey Deltia, I was hoping to get your opinion on swapping any of those abilities with Lingering Ritual. With Breath of Life ready for emergencies, wouldn’t the less magicka cost and more heal be worth the cast time of lingering ritual used in conjunction with Clensing Ritual?

I don’t use clap heal a lot but I know others like it. If it works for you, use it. I don’t like that it’s not instant.

    Hey Deltia,
(If you have Support Level 6) I really recommend using Barrier. This way you dont need to heal for a while and you can still do heavy attacks and keep your teams buffs up. Helped me out a lot more than Remembrance. Barrier costs a lot more ultimate but I noticed that I was saving up Remembrance anyway for the right time to use it.

Hey Deltia! Love your builds, I was just wondering if your current “The Battery” build for a templar healer is current for the upcoming Orsinium DLC? I imagine it will still be very similar, but I was wondering if there were any changes you were going to make.

He Deltia, I was wondering if much will change for the battery in the orsinium update.
And I’m playing this build right now, but I’m only level 15 what means I just unlocked my second ability bar. Many of your skills are very high level so I can’t use them yet. What skills should I use fill up the spaces until I unlock them? I really want to heal already instead of making a levelling character and switch it to healer, since I tend to play with my friends a lot.

      My current fave is:

      5 light armor sets Seducer
2 light armor sets Turogs pact
2 swords (DW) sets for turogs pact:

      5/5 seducer
      4/5 turog

You get lots of mag regen, max magicka, and 8% cost reduction, all with seducer. With Turog, you get some spell damage, max health, and another boost in your spell resistance! Granted, you will only get the 4/5 in Turog while on the attack bar only, however, you will get the constant Spell Damage due to the two light armors, on BOTH bars, which feeds BoL and Combat Prayer on your resto bar! This is my 2 cents, at least while vet leveling and until you can aquire the more legendary vet 16 gear from Arena, and level 9 crafting sets. 🙂

Channeled Focus (morph of Rune Focus | Restoration Staff skill line) – Managing magicka becomes a non issue if you continually maintain focus plus massive mitigation.

    WRONG!!
This skill is in the Restoring Light Skill Line.

Hi Deltia! I just wanted to pass on my appreciation for this build, and I have a suggestion on skills to use till you are in groups (and will even work if in one, but I’ll show why).

I pretty much am setup like it shows, DW bar 1, resto bar 2. I was using what you’ve shown:

    DW
    1-Radiant Op
    2-Inner light
    3-BoL
    4-Pure light
    5-Blazing shards
    -Ult Solar prison

    Resto
    1-Repentance
    2-Inner light
    3-BoL
    4-Channeled focus
    5-Combat prayer
    -Ult Rememberance

Now, this was doing really well, but mostly when with someone else. I made a few tweaks that have worked with me both by myself and even in a group.

Both weapon choices are the same, just these are the differences and why:

    DW
*1-Punct Sweeps- I realised having both Rad Op and Pure light on both bars was kinda slow. When enemies begin to close in, PS will help handle the mobs, deal great damage AND restore my health. I alternate between mostly Pure light and blaze shards till they get close.
    2-Inner light
    3-BoL
    4-*Radiant Op- Because, finnisher.
    5-Blaze shards
    -Ult Solar Prison

    Resto
1-*Chan focus- i moved this to the square button, so switching will immediately lead right into PS, giving me defenses and dmg/health when combat gets close.
    2-Inner light
    3-BoL
4-Pure light- i moved this to resources for a few reasons; first, i felt it was too slow on the main attack bar, second, I open with it along with chan focus and combat prayer, third, its on the same button (L1) as the other single target killer, Radiant Op. I just switch to this bar quickly to recast if needed and also popping down chan focus/combat prayer.
    5-Combat prayer
    -Ult Rememberance

Repentance? AMAZING skill, LOVE it! However, unless we are doing a Dolman or mob dungeon, i dont larticularly use it, and would rather keep up puncturing sweeps for CC situations. Plus, I have to give it to PS that I’ve lived through 99% of fights where my DPS friends have died.

If people end up finding The Battery being slower than needed, just switch up the bars to reflect what is needed for YOU. The way I do this is with Dolmans, run into one on your own and take it all on, see what you spam and what keeps you alive. I found Pure Light was just an opener and when I had time, which was hard being swarmed, thats why i moved it to the back. This works prettt smoothly and has made jealous friends in veteran content areas, “Why is our healer kicking TOO much ass?!” XD

Thanks again for the build, Deltia. This helped my game immensely. 🙂

    IN re to PVP

im finding such a huge disparity in damage done due to champion points.
I only have 12…… as I just started playing again and Im seeing that even in GOOD GEAR– I am hitting people for approximately 2-5k LESS than I am getting hit for with the same skill.– And this is in non vet pvp.
I put every class in there and as am example I will funnel health for… 400 lol, concealed weapon for 1k, and implale for at most 2k……
while I get nailed by 1800 funnles–3800 concealed weapons, and 12k impales.
Is there a way to pvp and still do good damage without the cps? or do I need to PVE to farm CP before I pvp?

Bi-Stat means two, so max health/magicka is the best for this build. You gather materials and level up your provisioning which allows you to make food and drinks.

    Deltia,

First time caller, long time listener. Good build as always. Only question though is why the 100 CP into bastion? Where is your damage absorbing ability? Channelled focus buffs resistance, so it doesn’t help there at all… is it just for when you swap in harness magicka? Couldn’t those points be better spent equally distributed amongst the 4 Lady buffs??? Thanks and I’ll hang up and listen

Hey these builds are awesome and I am currently following Ignition, Frag out, and Omega. I just want thoughts on putting most cp into light armor focus and some into elemental defender in the lady constellation instead of the warrior. My rationale for this is that as a healer you need to stay alive so that your group survives as well because if the healer dies everyone else is usually dead soon after. Going with the lady constellation along with using harness magicka seem like a great way to increase survivability. All of the passives help with survivability and the last one unchained is great for fights where you get trapped in place. Getting trapped with a major boss AOE can be a death sentence. Plus in my opinion, other people in the group besides the healer should be the ones reviving so that the healer can continue keeping them alive. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Deltias, as we know that few Templar abilities are getting nerfed in 2.3 such as Breath of Life heals fewer targets, Healing ritual cast time reduced by 25% and heal reduced by 25% (Basically cost went up by 25%). etc. Will you be making any changes to the build?

So my understanding for having duel wield is just souly for the 5% weapon damage increase. So I gues my question is why wouldn’t I rather use sword and shield for the sword and board passive for 5% weapon damage and 20% blocking plus the extra armor from having the shield? Just wondering because I feel that you have an answer for that I just don’t know what it is.

Doesnt Reflective lights and its morphs give the same critical rating boost as Inner light. With only difference on a very short duration but with having a dot up and using it in between other attacks. I could see 5 % magicka as a bonus though. Maybe in some situations having that other Dawns wrath ability with 20 % dmg increase on most attacks forgot the name. Will be helpfull in aoe situations. What inner light gives a downside for me is that it makes occupy more slots and feels as if we limit ourselves to other abilitys i felt the same playing sorcerer. Not that you can help that becuz its due to the way Zenimax designed magelight.

Scaring off someone close with an attack with dot that can be morped into an aoe spell up close and 20 % increase on next ability with the skill below reflective may come in handy though to keep distance or cause confusion and small pressure as healer a lil. Or finish off some low health adds especially on the dual wield bar since it adds to close situations.

This build is solid and does not need huge changes for Thieves guild. BoL only hits 2, so with teams who cannot handle damage you may see it auto hitting players other than you, which can cause issues, but for the most part it is not a huge deal. It makes this move more of a correction ability rather than a spam (for PVP and PVE.)
To correct, just add an AOE heal or some over-time heals on your staff and you’ll be fine.
Champion points I went with lady over lord w/ thieves update as the direct mitigation seemed more efficient to me. (Updates from thieves are not yet built into his tool so you will have to check patch notes or actually read the tips in game to know what I mean. )
One other big change is the nerf to resurrection boosts. ZOS flipped them to be multiplicative rather than additive. (IE 20% and 40% boosts now yield a 52% total reduction rather than a 60%)
I would curious what Deltia suggests, but I think you will see Templar heals branch away from Kagrenac’s now as the set is redundant, and fold back to spell power/regen sets.

Downloaded in one minute… I’m jealous.
Deltia posted https://t.co/0DykrFLtg6 last week. He varies slightly from the post here, and I still like AOE heals over pure BOL for large group (like PVP) but he still looks very competitive to me.
I run more of a DPS Templar but often end up healing a fair amount, so I use Juliano’s w/ Shadow Mundus (in place of Kag, throw on 2-3 impenetrable traits too)
Utilizing spell power pots (power+regen+crit) frees up a lot of room on your bar and with that triple running in tandem with the set you should have room and power to hit hard with both heals and damage.
Every build and every day is different, but what Deltia wrote here is solid and still very feasible.

Deltia, congrats on Maximus! He is lucky to have an intelligent father who cares for him. You’ll be an amazing dad.

Would it be a good idea to switch to a restro staff on 1 bar now to get that leveled, and slot in the abilities as I get them, or won’t this build do enough DPS for leveling?

Hello Deltias, I have been a long time fan of all of your videos in Elder Scrolls. When I need to learn something, you are the guy I go to watch. Unfortunately, the one thing I truly need is a detailed step by step battery healer build. I’m talking about what to put in each level. Like your Omega Templar build. This is the one build lacking on YouTube and would make the game better as a whole considering that people will almost always have a great healer build. I doubt you will read this, but this would truly make my year.

I read this Trevor and thanks for your comment. The problem with leveling as a healer is you have no one to heal the majority of your time playing. When you do play group dungeons, often times you can heal that just with Breath of Life alone. So that’s why I haven’t invested in making a full on build about it. But I will update the Battery today.

Hey deltia I was going to come and ask about this today.

A quick question, is the TG update the end for the imperial Templar healer? I mean the main “get out of jail free card” breath of life has been nurfed and if you had a bad group you can’t heal fast unless you have lingering ritual or a resto staff. I currently have a v16 imperial temp that is just sat as my crafter purely because I run with a group of sorcs and nightblades and being a sorc on my alt there isn’t a need for it in pve. Would this build still be viable in pvp/e after you update it?

Hey deltia ive taken a likeing to the healing that combat prayers provides along with its buff as when i refresh it it gets people out of the danger zone sorta a mini bol what do you think of it? I think its nice since i no longer double bar bol in tg

Channeled focus grants major mending now since TG update. It was not included in patch notes nor tool tip. Major mending + mitigation + magicka regen (with its reduced cost) makes it one of the very best Templar moves IMO now. A Templar sweeping on a rune can solo half the non-vet dungeons now. Sad to see it not included on this build anymore.
Molten weapons now grant major sorc to the whole team now as well? Odds of getting an NB running grim and/or a DK running molten seem high enough these days that combat pray feels redundant.
Can you post your unboosted (or boosted with note) final stats on this? I follow the current trend of nirning an item or two (typically belt) to increase resistance as losing one divine for huge mitigation seems beneficial at lower resistances. Thoughts?
This looks like another incredible build, nice job.

I agree and would like to bump this comment. Channeled Focus has been a regen/survivability must for a while. I’ve been watching the video and didn’t notice an explanation for its absence. If you would include it, what would we swap for? Flex spot? Thanks, Deltia.

I think so, Healing Springs is great for sustained but often times its overkill to have someone just sit there and spam it. Try different combinations.

Why u have no real magika support in ur build? Allways drain ( not only in raids) and mystic Orbs . I think ur magika DD s will lack sustain when their equip is build on full damage…

      No magicka support?
      1) Rapid Regeneration returns magicka
      2) I talked about Elemental Drain being swapped in for Trials
      3) I talked about Siphoning Spirit being swapped in on the backbar as well.
      4) Worm Cult gives everyone 5% less magicka cost.

Mystic Orbs I think is a waste in terms of sustained and space on your bar. Four things to optimize magicka is plenty for a normal healer.

The Maelstrom staff’s magicka return is only to the caster–i.e., to the healer. It offers no sustain for the rest of the group.

Orbs are nice, but I agree that they are situational. There are some places (vMoL, some of the really big vICP pulls) where I’d use them, though. I usually ask the DPS what they need and if they’re having sustain issues.

Where did you (can I) get the necklace of the worm? I have been running MOL since thieves guild came out, talked with dozens of people bout it, and no one has one, seen one, knows anyone who has one or has even heard of one. I know it is supposed to drop in MOL. I have 2 rings of the worm VR16 but can’t find the necklace any where. Have been checking guild traders for as long as thieves guild has been out and can’t even find any level Worm necklace. I’m beginning to think they don’t exist, but you have one. Any help would be appreciated

How does twice born star stack up with say atronarch and the thief stones? Or does the spell power of kag’s hope stronger? Looks for a more flexible set and tbs seems to fit the bill.

No Magicka recovery, No Spell Power? And while the healer should not be rezzing, the 5 piece of Kags is situationally awesome. TBS would cause deficits in stats like SP/ recovery for a healer, though you may be able to partially make up for them in Jewelry, your racial passives and CP bonuses are reliant upon stats such as Spell Power and Magicka Recovery which are found in your gear/jewelry. I suppose it would have to be a crit healing build but TBS is more appropriate to DPS builds that are reliant heavily upon crit dmg.

So first off delta, you got me hooked on healing Im loving it but i think i have a problem. When i first made my main character it was based on a different build The Harvester. So as of right now im an Imperial templar. Is this a bad race to try to use this build? Ive pull all my attributes into magicka to balance it out. Should i just make a new character and change this back? Because of this i consider myself a dps more than a healer. I feel like a tanky dps/healer but im still very inexperienced. Only just got this game 6 months ago.

Also being a little lower in Champion points, I was wondering if you would suggest investing more in curtain areas before others or balancing them out at first?

I have not completed the required dungeons, arena’s etc in order to acquire items that make this build so strong. This is a list of craftable items, that can be used as a transitory set until you can farm these items. It is based on gleanings from Deltias’ many pages. I hope its approved and useful by others as well.

    ITEM, WEIGHT, SET, TRAIT, GLYPH
    Head, Light, Magnus, Divines, Magicka
    Shoulders, Light, Magnus, Divines, Magicka
Chest, Light, Kagrenac’s Hope, Divines, Magicka
Legs, Light, Kagrenac’s Hope, Divines, Magicka
Gloves, Light, Kagrenac’s Hope, Divines, Magicka
Boots, Light, Kagrenac’s Hope, Divines, Magicka
Belt, Light, Kagrenac’s Hope, Divines, Magicka
Wep 1, Sword, Torug’s Pact, Precise, Majicka return
Wep 2, Sword, Torug’s Pact, Precise, Shield
Wep 3, Restoration, Torug’s Pact, Precise, Default
    Necklace, Arcane, Magnus, Spell Damage
