FYI, the video goes over everything covered in the written in much greater detail with examples of how to use it in combat. If you’re looking for a specific piece of information, please check the video and the table of contents in the description to fast forward to relevant parts. I spent a lot of time on the video and it serves a learning tool rather than text.

Burning Butcher WITH Maelstrom Weapons
Dual Wield (Daggers) – Damage dealing bar
- Burning Breath (morph of Fiery Breath | Ardent Flame skill line) – Armor debuff and a great 10 second damage over time (DoT). Keep this up, do a medium attack (slightly hold down attack) than cast the next ability.
- If you require range for a certain boss or situation, swap this out for Flying Dagger in the Dual Wield skill line (28 meter range).
- Unstable Flame (morph of Searing Strike | Ardent Flame skill line) – Our massive damage dealing ability that gets progressively stronger. Trick to this is NOT recasting until the DoT has expired completely.
- Flames of Oblivion (morph of Inferno | Ardent Flame skill line) – The first of our important buffs, Major Savagery or weapon critical. Basically keep this toggled on and don’t press it.
- Rapid Strikes (morph of Flurry | Dual Wield skill line) – This is our spammable attack that’s a channel which procs our Valkyn Skoria and hits very hard. If your DoTs are up, spam this sucker (make sure to medium weave after).
- Steel Tornado (morph of Whirlwind | Dual Wield skill line) – If the fighter requires AoE or multiple targets, don’t feel ashamed for smashing this button 10 times, it works.
- [Ultimate] Flawless Dawnbreaker (morph of Dawnbreaker | Fighters Guild skill line) – 8% weapon damage and a low cost ultimate if we run out of resources for Battle Roar, must have for stamina builds.
Two Handed (Sword) – Buffs and execution phase (25% health or lower)
- Razor Caltrops (morph of Caltrops | Alliance War Assault skill line) – A huge DoT AoE ability that last 30 seconds. I open up with this ability and do not recast it as it’s expensive.
- If you don’t have access to this PvP ability, use the Earthen Heart skill Eruption.
- Rally (morph of Momentum | Two-Handed skill line) – Major Brutality or 20% weapon power, a self heal and a must have for almost any stamina ability.
- Flames of Oblivion (morph of Inferno | Ardent Flame skill line) – Same as above, leave this on.
- Igneous Weapons (morph of Molten Weapons | Earthen Heart skill line) – I love casting this ability once all my buffs are up and opening with a fully charged heavy attack. With the right passives, this gives our party a 5% weapon damage increase as well.
- Executioner (morph of Reverse Slash | Two-Handed skill line) – Our spammable single target execution ability (only use when bosses at or below 25% health).
- [Ultimate] Standard of Might (morph of Dragonknight Standard | Ardent Flame skill line) – Still the juggernaut of ultimates, more damage, less damage taken this still melts everything.
- World, Undaunted, Undaunted Mettle – This gives us a major boost to max stamina and health with two points. You can level by complete Dungeon Achievements though it takes awhile.
- Class, Earthen Heart, Battle Roar – The reason I STILL love Dragonknights, the massive flood of resources it produces keeps us sustained.
- Class, Earthen Heart, Mountain’s Blessing – Gives us ultimate and 5% weapon damage or minor brutality. Try to use Igneous Weapons combined with a monster heavy attack for sustained and more weapon damage.
- Class, Earthen Heart, Helping Hands – Another amazing stamina DK tool, gives us 5% stamina for casting an Earthen Heart ability. Run out of resources? Spam cast Igneous Weapons or an ultimate.
- Weapon, Dual Wield, Twin Blade and Blunt – Gives us a massive boost to weapon critical for using Daggers with Precise trait. Why? Because NPCs do not have critical resistance so stack up on it!
- Crafting, Alchemy, Medicinal Use – This allows us to combine Rally with a VR15 potion of Weapon Damage for nearly 1 and 1/2 minutes without recasting our Major Brutality ability.
Option 1 – If you have Maelstrom Weapons
Option 2 – If you don’t have Maelstrom Weapons
- Hunding’s Rage – 6 trait craftable set that is the standard for stamina builds. Can be found AD Faction Reaper’s March Broken Arch, DC Bangkorai Wether’s Cleft, and EP The Rift Trollslayer Gully
- Night Mother’s Gaze – One, it’s a decent 2 piece set, two its a great 4 piece set IF you can’t use Valkyn Skoria (5 Hunding’s 4 Night Mothers). Can be found AD Reaper’s March Old Town Cavern, DC Bangkorai Silaseli Ruins and EPThe Rift Eldbjorg’s Hideaway
- Valkyn Skoria – Helm found in City of Ash drop from the last boss (higher chance on Hardmode allegedly) and shoulder through Undaunted Pledges. Lots of DoTs, massive AoE and carnage = a fun DoT build.
- Agility – Found from treasure vaults in Imperial City. It’s top of the line, so if you don’t have this you can always go with Shadow Walkers for jewelry or buy robust non set from Fighters Guild.
- WW/Vamp – You know me….love Vampire for PvP and don’t like WW that much and I don’t think it fits the build. If you only plan on playing this build, stay all natural.
- Mundus Stone – Warrior for maximum damage or Serpent for sustained.
- Armor – 5 medium, 1 heavy and 1 light if you lack 10% racial bonus for maximum stats. If you’re running into sustained issues, all medium.
- Food – Go with bi-stat health and stamina at max level.
- Race – “Can X race work with Y class.” Yes, but in game with no soft caps, you’re hurting yourself if you do not go with maximum stat builds e.g. for stamina Redguard, Imperial, or Orc (weapon damage). I’m a Dunmer and still do good damage, but a Breton? Probably not.
- 501 Champion Point setup
Update Six Version
The basic idea behind this build is making something easy to understand, fun but deadly. You won’t have a complex series of rotations cool downs and spells. Just rambo in apply some damage over time effects and spam attack to wreck havoc. This is primarily for DPS characters that want to compete in dungeons, trials and also want something a little more tanky than a typical melee build.
The build has great damage, feels sturdy and isn’t complex. It sacrifices range at the expense of a powerful execute finisher. Additionally, it’s made for end-game players or those close to reach Veteran Rank 14. If you’re feeling lack luster DPS or squishy in update six, try this DPS build out, it works great.
I’m going to spend less time writing, so I can focus on explaining each ability in the video. I highly recommend watching the video for actual demonstration.
Bar One – Dual Wield (Primary Bar can do both AoE or single target)
- Burning Breath
- Unstable Flame
- Igneous Weapons
- Rapid Strikes
- Steel Tornado
- Flawless Dawnbreaker [Ultimate]
The idea here is to fire up Igneous Weapons to get the minor weapon damage via Mountain’s Blessing passive, slam a weapon power potions for major savagery and brutality giving you 10% weapon critical and 25% weapon power for 40 seconds (with Medicinal Use alchemy passive). As you close the distance, apply Burning Breath, reducing armor and damage over time (Dot) the target for 10 seconds. Get into melee range and apply another DoT with Engulfing Flame while using medium attack weave in between. A medium weave is simply holding down the left mouse for .5 seconds so it registers as a heavy attack. Now do 2-3 Rapid Strikes, rinse and repeat.
In multiple mob situations, spam Steel Tornado after you apply the Burning Breath debuff. Make sure to keep minor brutality with Igneous Weapons every 20 seconds. Also use potions on cool down as this is the most important part of your DPS. Only use Flawless ultimate in emergency situations for extra resource via Battle Roar passive. Swap to bar two as the boss reach 25% health for an ultimate and finisher and it’s that simple.
Bar Two – Two Handed (or bow for range) used for buffs and finisher
The reason for two hander is the finisher via Executioner. You sacrifice range for a big time damage dealer on bosses. If you’re in range, pop your Corrosive Armor for 11 seconds of 100% armor penetration and making you nearly unkillable. Do a normal medium weave in between Executioner abilities. Use Green Dragon Blood for stamina regeneration or a self heal. If you’re out of magic, pop Rally for extra healing. Throw down Caltrops on a long boss fight or AoE situation for massive damage over time.
The damage is very simple because you’re only using three abilities with single target and two with area damage. You can sustain your stamina via Igneous Weapons and Green Dragon Blood. When things get rough or during finisher, pop Corrosive for protection. The build shines because it’s simple and you can run your major buffs via potions rather than skills. Keeping it simple and easy to execute. Let me show you the gear setup so you can understand how this works.
- Hunding’s Rage – A six trait craft-able set which can easily be obtained. This is still one of the best sets in the game making it easy for everyone to access. You can also go with something more exotic like Vicious Ophidian.
- Ravager – This can be obtain in PvP only though it’s bind on equip. You can buy, sell or trade this gear making it possible for anyone to access. Without soft caps, the extra damage proc for melee attacks makes this build nearly hit 4,000 weapon power! With a good mix of critical, health and weapon damage I love the Ravager set.
- Night Mother – Another simple crafted set that everyone can access. Now I added something to pump up max critical using daggers, however you could use swords if you think 70% critical is over kill 🙂
What makes the gear and skills work together is the one potion reduce time glyph on the necklace. Essentially with potions, you have zero down time in between using the next one. Making it a great substitute for using two abilities to give you two vital buffs; major brutality and savagery.
- Priority Numbers 20,000 health > 20,000 stamina > 3000 buff weapon damage > 50%+ weapon critical
- Mundus – The Warrior for added weapon power.
- Attributes – Depends…..I went all stamina since I have plenty of health 62 stamina.
- Racial – I’m playing a Nord though I’d go with Redguard or Imperial if I could reroll for this build.
- Food – Bi-stat food when in Pve and tri-stat for PvP.
The Champion Points doesn’t vary between the Blazing Harvester build minus the Warrior tree I went with the Lord for extra heavy armor. Otherwise go Thief and the Ritual. I spent about 20 hours grinding to reach the 90 CP mark which gives the 12% weapon bonus adding a lot to your damage.
I highly recommend watching the video because its much easier for me to explain and show than write it out. Plus it saves me a ton of time so I probably slim down these guides like this in the future. Or at least until I get some more updated. I hope you enjoyed this one, it’s powerful and fun!
When is your Tank build getting done?? I cant wait to see it
DUDE!!!! I’ll start tanking after my NB is done.
Tank builds are desperate and struggling to survive lol but Deltia, to confirm, is reduced stamina cost more effective than increase stamina regeneration?
Nergal Blackmar says
Yeah, the rise of the new T3!
What makes you say mundus stone of weapon damage. I tried that and then I tried the weapon critical one. So my weapon critical is at 85% with vr14 gear. I switched it back and forth many times between that and weapon damage and i swear the extra weapon critical seems to be way more effective. Can you comment on this please?
So if I swap between PvE and PvP i don’t have to change. Shadow and Thief are probably better options for pure min/maxing, however.
Hey Deltia, couple of questions on pvp. I roll with a group and i am currently using a stam DK. They want me to run nados. Would 5pc Medium hundings still be the go to? Or would 5pc heavy hundings rage be the go to? I use corrosive plus molag kena proc when using steel nado and its NUTZ! On my other bar i have SnB.
Look at the passives in heavy, to they add any benefit to damage? Yes, go medium.
So glad u updated this build. I’ve been playing my Orc butcher since March 2015. Just got vigor tonight. Everything else is the same except maelstrom weapons. Hopefully this helps me get through it. Can’t beat it on bet not even close yet. For pvp I switch it a little. I do evil hunter, precise strikes, dragon armor, vigor, and petrify. Back bar dragon blood, snipe, poison injection, dragon fire scale, and ingenious shield. Works pretty well. Just petrify and spam precise strikes. Any advice on this front would be much appreciated. Awesome build as usual.
I don’t know what ability you mean by Precise Strikes, do you mean Rapid Strikes?
Yeah. My fault.
Forgot extended chains pvp gap closer. Thanks.
just to let u know the Unstable Flame is wrong in the link on mine anyways for the Nord one.
Hi mate, just curious why you went with medium chest instead of heavy?
Something to this I am not aware of?
Dude I’m really gonna try this! But isn’t engulfing flame and burning breath from the morph of the same skill? Did you mean unstable flame? And also I would love to see a melee sorc 1.6 build updated. I loved your last one and kinda been discouraged with the update on my sorc.
No it’s the two DoTs from Ardent Flame skill tree.
Awesome Build Deltia! If I wanted to swap out a bow for range, what skills would be a must have for that bar?
Yeah def could swap out a bow just missing out on boss execute.
Great build Deltia, I will definitely be using it for PvE 🙂
For people who don’t have enough alliance points to get the ravager set a great craftable set to use in the meantime is Night’s silence for weapons and 2 armor pieces. This will give you stamina and stamina recovery while using the two hander and an additional 648 crit while using dual wield. It is only a two trait set so acquiring the items is very easy.
If you do not have caltrops available what would you use as an alternative?
Would Valkyn Skoria helm / shoulders be a workable alternative, for those without access to the ravaged set?
I know these measures may detract from the efficiency of the build from a min/maxer perspective, but I hope to make it work with what I have while grinding dsa/trials.
Also, your efforts are appreciated. However when you’ve finished with the builds you’re already working on, I’d love to see a DK magicka DPS build. Though it may be the Dawn of the New Age of stamina builds, it would be great to have a choice, and see what could be done with magicka builds in 1.6.
Without Caltrops you can use Brawler as an AoE DoT and protection.
Skoria is probably better than Ravager though a lot of builds have this and people don’t have it.
Magicka DK is pretty sick and would be more damage, remember this is mainly a starting point and more tanky than a traditional DPS setup.
It’s time for a magicka Dragonknight build. Especially with the changes this update. I know the changes are not official but since you have been playing around on the PTS maybe you can have it all ready and then tweak it right after its official, and release the build.
Michael Ramm says
This is just the build I have been looking and waiting for! Thanks so much Deltia for all the work that you do, and especially the Streamer Weekend. My slow internet HATES twitch streams, but I should have it upgraded by the time the next streamer weekend happen!!
Hey Deltia you think a Dunmer would be a good choice to?
Oh yeah, better than my Nord 🙂 Two of the DoTs apply fire damage which would get a boost from the Dunmer passives.
I was wondering if I could use 2 swords rather than daggers with my butcher?
Yeah if it works for you!
Thanks. Looking forward to trying it out – although it feels naked with DW as main. Fyi, typo in text: bar one, slot two should be unstable flame and not engulfing flame. Maybe you just wanted us to watch the vid 😉
Cant wait for the PVP version!
Thanks just changed it. It’s just so much easier for me to do a video. And I was in a rush with stream event, grinding, blah blah blah. Got it fixed 🙂
For the people that can’t afford the potions, I would recommend putting evil hunter on your toolbar because it grants major savagery. Move igneous to the second toolbar and swap back and forth-possibly in place of caltrops.
That’s a good choice or Flames of Oblivion.
The good thing about evil hunter is it makes savagery a passive. Is Flames of Oblivion still a toggle skill with no duration? If so, in 1.6 would it keep its application when using toolbar 1 if it is slotted on toolbar 2? I don’t have access to game right now so I can’t test.
Stunning Blog but this time I’m confused…
Bar One – Dual Wield (Primary Bar can do both AoE or single target)
Both Morphs of Fiery breath.. is this possible?
Video seems to show a Morph of Momentum which is a Two-Handed Skill not Dual-Wield
I had a typo, should be Burning Breath than Unstable Flame. And Rally is the morph for Two-Hander.
In one of deltias videos he states he prefers stamina regen over cost reduction.
And I was completely wrong. I admit this in the video 🙂
You owe me gold lol was all proud and made my cp regen lol
Tried this build at level 30, I know I didn’t have everything unlocked or the gear, and im sure that why it seemed super weak for me. But I can’t wait to try it at VR 14. But other than that im using your pre 1.6 butcher build with the greatsword as front bar and its working very well even at level 30! So I’ll stick to that until I feel like I’m ready to use this build. From a new player trying to learn how to make a viable character in this games deep customization, thanks man.
Im lvl 45 , used this build from the first time i started , works awesome , cant wait to get bigger !
Hello agen, minor guestion.. what is that addon.. that shows you the prices on items? I have watched your addon video, but didnt see that there? Thanks already
man, that was exactly my hope for this build, using two hander without missing steel tornado! I dont need the bow for every build, DK with two hander just feels right! Again a fine build and thank you so much for the work again!!
After playing Phazius’s DW crit build for a while, this is a joy after feeling like DW is dead in 1.6. I Just need to level up my 2H now :/
I guess there is an error since they changed the icons…the second skill is supposingly ” instable flame”… although is is possible that mighty deltia can use burnig breath and engulfing flame at the same time ?
I screwed up, fixed it should be Burning Breath and Unstable Flame.
Please correct me if I am wrong but where you say the bar one skills it says the second skill is engulfing flame. By chance did you mean Unstable Flame?
Yes, typo in a hurry.
I think the ravagers set is buggy. I can only get it to proc on one ability.
Really? I get it to proc all the time with light attacks.
20 CP’s in just 20 hours…someone has been making the most of the exploit then.
Oh Deltia how could you?…it will hit you hard if they roll back everyone to 70 CP’s due to this.
They did say they wanted 1 CP an hour. I may have taken advantage of a grind 🙂
HOWEVER I did email them with a video so they could fix it. Some of these things people don’t see me doing suggest that I don’t give them feedback which isn’t true. I just do it privately.
Just pulling your leg.
But it does seem like you must have had the “permanently enlightened bug” to be able to achieve this.
More power to ya….keep up the good support of the game and the community
Great build! I haven’t tried rapid strikes since I first started playing. I am pretty much using this build only I added flames of oblivion. Somehow with 30 pt passive I’m up to 75% spell crit without alliance bonuses or pots.
PS I saw you grinding and whispd you, you said theyd Nerf it Monday, turns out it was Saturday
I was close though right?
Deltia, I didn’t have time to read everyone’s comments but a few quick questions:
1) Did you mean for the second dagger to be Night Mothers vs. Night Silence?
2) How do you feel about Ashen Grip if I do not have Ravaging yet?
3) Will you be utilizing the Chef or Blacksmithing costumes once they are available and to give it that “Butcher” look? I know I will!!
Overall great build and cannot wait to set this up tonight after work!
1 Both are good options
2) Ashen is good though you can’t use jewelry with it thus wasting slots
3) oh yeah gotta rock the Chef costume
For the daggers, should you split them between the two sets? Or pick one or the other?
haven’t had time to update this, but should be Hundings/ravager Master Daggers.
hey deltia love all the builds you doing everything u do is brill i got everyone in my guild on eu watching your vids through word of mouth from me 🙂 just wondering can u explain what skills you have on for your bow plz 🙂 thankyou so much keep up the good work buddy 🙂
Yeah gonna have a Nightblade Bow build coming soon though its mainly Venom Arrow DoT and Focus Aim spam. Plus or minus a buff/debuff and that’s it.
Are you still planning a NB Bow build? Or did it turn into Umbra?
Delta, would brawler and malubeth helm and arm cops be good for pvp? Could you also make a two handed or 1 hand and shield pvp build?
Love this. My nord dk will definitely be trying this out. Great site and appreciate all the time you have put into it.
if your mid vr lvl what would work in place of ravage set?
Ravager set comes in VR1, VR 10 or 11 (i think) and VR 14. The first 2 cost 30k and 36k AP aprox, 248k for the vr14. You can buy these from PvPers at a trade for 10ap to 1 gold. So for vr 14 if you had to buy it all 125k gold. For ravager jewellery it only comes in vr1 and vr14. AP is easy to save now and shouldnt take too long to earn – even for the high stuff. Or you could go farm mats for a day or so and just sell it then buy all the armor.
Oh, and if you mix and match a set ie vr 1 jewellery and vr14 armor, for the bonuses it takes an average of the pieces so you don’t get screwed and can actually upgrade one piece at a time and still make it worth it.
Do suggest werewolf with this build? I noticed the buff in the screenshot above but not in the video is why I ask or in the article.
Yeah for the extra stamina regen in combat.
How big of a deal is it in PvP? I have never used werewolf and was wondering in 1.6 if it’s a noticeable disadvantage against lethal arrow and others like it.
well im only vr5. is it worth it to equip vr1 tell i get to vr11 or whatever or is there a set thats cheaper to craft for a fill in tell then?\
It is only for 2 armor pieces, I think it should work fine. They are already purple so either make them yellow (if you want). the jewellery – vr1 is good enough.
Yeah VR 5 is still gonna give you good stats and the powerful set bonus. If you have tons of AP buy it at that level if you don’t probably wait until VR 11.
I have running a lower level of this 25-30 and completely dominating the poor npc’s . only problem is they are not close enough together I decimate then have to run off to find more. Need some tank loveins though king foltest called and he is enjoying the time off.
LOL King Foltest is coming back hard today!
What’s your ui addon you’re using delta? I want it so bad.
FTC and Cloud Combat mainly.
Oreyn Bearclaw says
What is the proper way to weave rapid strikes? Are you medium weaving in front of it, or are you holding LMB during the skill and releasing on final hit? Not going to lie, I have struggled with the later.
It’s hard to get the hang of. I press my 4 key to activate Rapid Strikes then immediately hold my left mouse. As soon as the ability goes through full animation, I left go registering a heavy attack. Just run around fighting mobs practicing for hours, that’s what I did.
Oreyn Bearclaw says
That’s what I figured. I admittedly haven’t done a ton of practice with it. I think I am probably trying to cut it too close. I am guessing that making sure both hit is more important than clipping the final animation of RS. Thanks as always. I can’t wait for the NB build later today. I already made a “sneak thief” loadout, but I bet yours is better. Haha
WoW!! This game is interested!! Thank you for sharing video.
Deltia, I watched the video and love your work, but I think I see a slight mistake you made with your Champion Points. You dropped 11 points into Heavy Armor Force which only works with 5 or more pieces of Heavy Armor worn, yet you’re only wearing 2 pieces of Heavy Armor.
Yeah that’s because I tank on this guy and probably should drop those 11 in the middle warrior tree.
Just to clarify I think what Tanaka is asking is aren’t you wasting the points in Heavy Armor Focus since it requires 5 pieces of heavy and you’re only wearing 2? So you aren’t really getting the bonus with those points. Where The Steed has Medium Armor Focus for your 5 pieces or medium armor.
Yes but I was tanking during this video on another build.
Hey Deltia! Great work ad usually, ty for ur builds! I want to ask a question: did u try using two pieces of Valkyn Skorya and going with 4 daggers from hundings rage? U problably can get 1 more dot from rendering slashes (leaving steel tornado) so maybe its a DPS increase in single target situation.
It is a lot more damage, but I wanted to use something without it since a lot of people don’t have access to Skoria.
Oreyn Bearclaw says
If you were to use 2 VS pieces, would you swap the Ravager jewelry for anything else? I guess you could still do 5 Hundings, 5 Ravager, and 2 VS while using daggers, but you would miss out on the fifth trait of Hundings when in execute mode.
Is it useful to wear the Ravager Chest and Legs for more armor?
Or ist the Ravager Hands and Legs better?
You can though I like gloves since it’s a “small” part of your gear than you can go infused on Chest. Plus you get the look you want 🙂
Are you planning to do an update to your NightBlade DPS?
I’m really expecting that!
what skills do u use for your bow deltia ? as would like to have a off bow 2 save to wykkds 🙂
Venom Arrow and Focus Aim spam really is all I do.
Deltia et al,
I want to talk 2H vs Dual. I know you started testing and were originally going with 2h based on your earlier video, obviously you found that Dual provides more DPS. I was curious how much more DPS you are noticing going this route. With my personal focus on PvP and dps on dungeons secondly, a primary build using wep crit pots can put you in a tough spot as you cant use tripots for healing. I like the idea of putting on burning breath and unstable flame for dot then transitioning to wrecking blow + executioner. only downside is unless i want to do a lot of wep swaping and reapplying flames of oblivion, I will have to have 2h on both bars. Any thoughts?
Do you feel five piece ophidian 2 piece valkyn skoria would be inferior to five piece hundings rage two piece skoria?
First, sorry for my bad english.
I’m new player in the game, and love your site and youtube channel helping a lot, thanks!
I like this build and I’m doing it, and I like to know exactly which skills I have to pick, the armor, craft, weapons and racial passives and stuff, because I really like the build but I don’t know how to level up with it, since is my first char.
Thanks again, and sorry for my english 🙂
Well the skills are listed is that what you wanted?
Why didn’t you put what the skills were morphs of? It is really annoying having to look up each one just because you left that out.
Tnx for sharing this awsome build with us. I will try this evening your build with my guild warband on EU Chillrend but one of my guildmate already try this in PVE and it’s just fantastic.
Waiting for some magicka build that can work in PVP and PVE.
what’s you native language? I may be of help.
Any suggestions for those of us with little or no PVP points? For now, I filled the second bar with Earthen Heart and 2H skills, since I need to raise my levels on both lines.
What do you mean by PvP points? I don’t think I understand.
PVP means player-vs-player, of course. The Ravager set pieces can only be purchased with points earned in Cyrodil, thus from PVP.
ring one and ring two in this build show robust? I cannot find ring or band other than healthy? choker is robust though.
Yeah you need to buy them from the healthy vendor.
So there is a healthy vendor (not sure where he is located) that sells ravager rings of robust ? (where would I find him specifically)
You can buy the rings with robust from “magnus” vendor.
Thanks for answering my questions. I have been in cryodil searching but the only magnus I find has ravager rings with healthy only. Would you check on that ? If you do find some will you please give me an exact location if possible. Thanks again !!!
What if you take Whirling Blades instead of steel tornado, that one restores stamina. Or is it not worth it compared to the increased radius?
No because the restoring isn’t instant it’s over time.
Finding this build very effective and fun to play, thanks!
Oreyn Bearclaw says
I have been working on the NB version of this. I am using all (4) daggers, as 2H really isn’t necessary. NB’s have class skills that are better Gap Closers and Finishers, and Rally can be replaced with potions. I finally got all the gear yesterday and had the smoothest Vet CoH run ever (with a NB healer).
Bar 1: Rapid Strikes, Rendering Slashes, Piercing Mark, Killers Blade, Merciless Resolve*, Flawless DB.
Bar 2: Steel Tornado, Refreshing Path, Power Extraction, Ambush, Siphoning Attacks*, Veil of Blades.
*Not totally sold on these 2 skills, might consider another DoT, Shield buff, or even Funnel Health for the heals. Siphoning does allow for endless Steel Tornado. Merciless Resolve is a nice damage buff, but I don’t seem to get off Assassin’s will with DW as often as with a bow.
I use Classic Stam pots (Stam, Power, Crit) on bar one, and Weapon Crit pots (Stam, Health, Crit) on bar two as power extraction gives Weapon power buff.
It’s missing a self heal w/o rally, but refreshing path and Pots seem to keep me alive. It is capable of 10K+ single target and 25-30K AoE DPS. It is also by far the least squishy NB I have ever played. Thanks for the gear setup, it is awesome!!!
Pvp Action says
nice work! I have got a question to the pvp skills u would probably use and if u would change anything in the gear u use?
Vigor….Gear Shadow Walkers.
Hi, Still no luck finding those rings of ravager in robust. If anyone know exactly where to get them. Please reply. Thanks, Much
Oreyn Bearclaw says
I might be in error, but I think that was a mistake. I have only every seen a Ravaging Ring and Ravaging Band in Healthy. I am EP so I guess its possible that AD vendors carry different items, but I cannot verify that. Not a huge deal, just adjust your attributes accordingly to hit desired mark.
really nice built! What would u change for pvp in this built?Any changes in skills and gear when doin pvp? Would love to have some useful advices 🙂
Think I just answered this, sorry comment was buried. I’d use Shadow Walkers and Vigor if I was AR 10.
Love this build! Two questions.
i would like your thoughts on whether you could put flames of oblivion on the bar sonewhere and if that would hypothetically help dps in certain situations.
2nd question. I dont have ravager But have the warewolf hide set. Any thoughts on that combo?
You can but the trick is to use potions for extra crit thus freeing up two abilities. WW is good for tanking but can work for ulty gen.
Hi, I’m really grateful for your build here! It looks fantastic. I just started ESO and would like to understand how to implement this build from the start. For example, what preliminary skill points do I need to put where in order to get to the levels that you specifically note above? In other words, I’d like kind of a basic build on up since I’m attempting to understand this at the ground level right now and I don’t have a lot of time at present to dig about and try to assemble these extra details. Even if you have a prior post to which you can direct me, that would be fantastic!
Also, am I to understand that you put ALL points into Stamina when leveling and nothing into Magicka and Health???
All health while leveling.
So then after leveled, reset them and push them to stamina? Also, can you put an actual build up of this on: http://www.esohead.com/calculator/skills ?
The ESO Build site wasn’t updated when I used it though I have images off the abilities. Is there something specific you’re looking from that site?
Well, the real key that I’m looking for right now (since I’m still quite new and I don’t have a lot of time to invest into understanding the skill and leveling buildout system quite yet) is to how leveling really works and therefore how to acquire the skills that you note. I guess I would like a very brief “beginners” version of this guide here for those of us flooding in after the free to play release… 🙂
Great question, which might be best to watch me on twitch. I just started my DC toon and showing people how I level. If you can’t watch during the days, go to “past broadcast.” There’s just hours of tips and footage as it’s hard to explain everything in a sentence.
Link for a good starting vid for your past ones? I’ve played WoW and GW2 a good bit in the past so I don’t think it would take a lot to get up to speed, but I’ve not had much time yet to dabble and am curious about how to really maximize whilst leveling as you note and really build up to a “bloody butcher” level. Also, I’m hoping that a Khajit can do well on this… Just love the cats!
Yes! Some kind of leveling tips/guide would be nice 🙂
Thanks, Deltia, for the amazing build! only one question: I must use medium attack weave ONLY in between Burning Breath
and Unstable Flame, or I need to use it in between unstable flame and Rapid Strikes too, or even between Rapid Strikes and Rapid Strikes?? sorry for the english, i speak spanish xD
The highest DPS is medium weaving the entire time. If you miss one, no big deal.
Question: why would you use magicka based abilities when all your points are in Stamina? I understand Burning Breath because it reduces armor. But why unstable flames? Would you be better off with a stamina ability that cause bleed for the DOT or something?
Because Unstable Flames now scales off stamina and is used via stamina. If you click on the image it shows that.
Oh, I see. Thanks for the response. I forgot to mention that the link to Unstable Flames actually pulls up Ferocious Leap.
That’s an amazing morph. I was thinking, “too bad it still costs magicka,” but, on second thought, it’s great to have a stamina based ability that costs magicka, because it’s basically converting magicka to stamina.
Can this build be used for PvP as well?
Somewhat though you’d probably need to change things up to be super effective in PvP.
I’m just wondering what mods/addon’s do you use
what addon/mods are you useing?
shit i didnt think my other one posted fail
I have a list here: http://youtu.be/WeSK54PACKU
Can yu please show more info on the passives you use and why or throw in a skill calc with them in so we can see how it is all set up please?
I take them all but something I can do in the future.
this is what I came up with from the few things that I could see in the video is this correct? If anyone can make it better please let me know.
Almost I don’t use extended chains
Ive noticed that the enemies slice right through my health pretty quickly. what can I do do keep this from happening? It takes about 3-5 hits before they kill me if I have not killed them yet. This usually happened when there are 3 or more mobs attacking at once.
Is there a reason you did heavy armor on legs and hands, and not legs and chest? Nice build btw. Making it as I type lol. Using an Imperial for mine in case I feel like tanking later down the line.
Ravager is the only set you can get that much weapon power with and you have to use one or more heavy.
Deltia, i am having trouble getting to that crit amount. What was your base crit without all the gear?
What race would be best with this build?
I’m just starting ESO, playing a DK, and this is the type of playstyle I’m interested in.
Delta, does this build work well in dragon star arena?
Why Igneous over Molten? Just curious.. Also you have a recommendation of these two morphs for a dk tank?
I have trouble telling if I am getting the 1+ sec buff medium weave, it looks like Srendarr buff tracker doesn’t take it into account.
For longer heavy attack buff with medium weaving. For a DK tank, just use Choking Talons but no morph changes for me.
Great work as always Deltia! I been trying out a Stamina DK since 1.5 so when 1.6 and 2.0 came along I was one happy bunny!! I have been playing around with the build allot and so far my best setup is:
2x Medium Skoria
5x Hundings (2 Daggers rest armour)
3x Draugh King Slayer (neck, gloves and feet)
2 x Ring of Two Fanged snake. (one is gold one purple both with weapon dmg)
2. Unstable flame
3. Rapid Strikes
5. Evil Hunter (for the crit!)
Ulti. Flawless Dawnbreaker
1. Rally. (For weapon dmg)
2. Evil hunter (for crit)
(rest do what you like)
Ulti. Standard of might
Stamina: 24K, Crit: 62% Weapon dmg 3724 (with Major Brutatlity). Just did Elden hollow and managed a new record of 24K on first boss, single target… but unlimited stamina! so not true, but still awesome!!!
Deffo recommend my variation for end game dps 🙂 showing those magica users how to dps 🙂
I need to lvl Alch, so then I could rely on pots and say have Molten Whip on the first bar for inc Ardent dmg… Work in progres!”!! 🙂
That looks like an awesome build for sure.
Which enchantments are you using on your gear? Stam on armour, weapon damage on jewelry, armor reduce on weapons?
Stamina and health on gear and increase power on weapons.
Do you think this would be good with the Dunmer’s Fire Talent passive?
Oh yeah anything dunmer is good 🙂
Thanks! one more question, with Igneous Weapons it doesn’t seem to extend the ‘buff icon’ duration, is it still active with my heavy attacks?
I have just started getting back into ESO again. By this I mean watching videos and coming up with my builds from videos. I was last year but once they delayed release for console I stopped looking into all the builds. Luckily I found your videos and they are great. I have some buddies that are using your builds for reference of what they want end game.
This build is exactly what I want. I love dual wield DPS. I played a marauder in SWTOR years ago and always duel wield in the other elder scrolls game. I have some questions about this build. I am on the fence of whether I want to be an Imperial or Dunmer with getting a little more tanky with the passive self heal or the added fire damage. I also thought about lycanthropy and vampire as well. You were talking about werewolf for PVE and vampire for PVP. Dunmer will lessen the fire damage incurred by the vampirism. Would it be viable to run vampire the whole time if I am a Dunmer or just go with werewolf for that free stamina? Would you be able to kind of talk about this situation and what your thoughts are on it please?
I was thinking about making him have alchemy for the potions but I also thought of making a crafting character as well. Are there restrictions to this or what are your suggestions?
I know this is an end game build but will you be making a lvling video of this end game build? I did see your lvling guides and stuff. Didn’t know if there are specific things that you would change to get this build end game.
I love your videos and they have made me excited about the game once again. I am so appreciative of all the time you have put into your videos and website. Keep it up man. Sorry about the lengthy message but I am trying to cram some of my questions in here without writing a book.
Well if you use your main for crafting you’ll have significantly less skill points. Especially if you want to play alternate roles like tank/dps. I have a leveling build for DKs on YouTube called laceration.
I’m sorry I wasn’t meaning that I was making my main a crafter. I was thinking an alt as a crafter. This way I can make my main and other acts have the most skill points possible.
How would you optimize the other gear sets with a undaunted head and shoulders set?
There’s really only one choice Skoria 🙂
What about after the patch now that they modified how often it procs? Would you just get rid of night mothers gaze and move all the hundings over to daggers?
Hey Deltia, i’m making a return to ESO and through google I found this website and started watching your stream, Amazing stuff! 🙂
I have a question; i’m a great fan of the DK class because i’ve always loved fire-based skills and they have great survivability. I was toying around with a stam build but Id really love to play a magicka based one. But left and right my friends and their aunts and aunts’ dogs keep telling me “No! don’t use magicka, it sucks in 1.6, go with stam”. Is this true? If I decide to go all the way magicka does this mean i’m severely crippling myself and won’t find groups for end-game? Personally i’d rather go with the build I find more fun. But I also like being competitive.
I understand you’re quite the DeeKay master so maybe you can give me a few tips to help me understand why exactly some people claim magicka based builds to suck in 1.6. thanks!
No, stamina and magicka both rock. Check out my 14k single target Nord DK build 🙂
Wow I absolutely love your bloody butcher build and you’re T3 Tank build , but is it possible to hybrid both buikds for dragon knight? Like a tank dps with werewolf ultimate as one slot ?
If possible can it be a pure Stam build
You can hybrid but your better off focusing on one thing and going hardcore for it. IMO 🙂
I like the build and play but I’m only a level 42 (Orc), returning after 9 months. I previously was stamina based 2H/1H but I’d like to try DW/2H. I never PVP and will mainly be questing. How would you suggest re-speccing and what split of Health / Stamina would you aim for after everything is considered.
Attributes aren’t really a concern of mine. I make sure I hit a certain health threshold than dump the rest into stamina.
I’m trying for an imperial DK With high DPS. I’m fairly new to the game so I see you went all stamina for the butcher….My question is: for someone just starting out (level 6) should I really put all points in stamina as I don’t have all the gear and buffs to make up my lagging health. Am I missing something? I’m not sure if folks are “creating” characters by re specking? How does one truly start out…from the beginning? Thanks
At level six you’re probably not going to have a “build” for some time. I’d just go into health until 20s than respec as the build progresses.
What would you do differently if you where a Redgaurd then?
And what passives do you use as you haven’t listed them at all? I know they are in your video but id like to see where every point u have spent has gone. In order to fully understand it.
I choose them all for my character skill lines, weapons and armor.
Hopefully not all passives. At least one (Agility) is useless in this build, since you’re not wearing 7 pieces of medium armor.
Smile for awesome stamina regeneration.
new player. any way to give me a link to a your build so I can understand how the ability works. Just bought the ESO tamriel unli. having a blast
I do explain the abilities and yes I can link them in the future. You can also search my site as I have DK skills guide that list them all.
What would you change in gear to make an end game dps? Just need something to run Veteran City of Ash.
I’d go 2 hander with 1 heavy armor piece.
LOL. sorry posted this on wrong page.
Love the build but having issues incorporating Valkyn Skoria set without sacrificing one of the 5 piece bonuses. Especially with one being heavy armor. Is it worth sacrificing skoria for both sets? Or with the ravaging great sword I can get one 5 piece bonus with each weapon.. Any thoughts or tips much appreciated.
You can switch to 2H and make it work.
Would using eruption on my 2H bar proc it after switching to DW? Or is there any skill you would suggest to trigger it?
Yeah that or Caltrops is great.
I’ve been following your build and steadily completing the end game content so thanks!!!
I have finally got the full ravager set. What procs it besides LA and HA? Could you list all the skills that work? It seems like steel tornado works?
Razor Caltrops 🙂
I created a bloody butcher pvp build. Can you look it over and let me know if I should make any tweaks to it like change the gear traits to impenetrable or something like that? Thanks.
Extra armor so I can survive and would it get better if i switched corrosive armor for the devouring swarm from the vampire skill line
I made some changes to the build. I just need some advice on weapon enchants.
Deltia, great job with this build! Am using a similar setup modeled after what you’ve described and am having a blast! Way more fun than my previous magic-based setup. No more squishy! Well, not as squishy at least. 🙂 I need to start looking for some Ravager pieces next!
One thing I’m curious about though: how do you have the Concentration passive showing up in your stats? Isn’t that a light armor only passive?
Thanks for all of the detail you’ve provided with these builds! Am going to be trying out options from your Ignition sorc build, but for now am working on getting some unused skills leveled.

Hi,can you make a updated video for this ?
I notice milky asked this earlier, does anyone else find their buff timer for igneous doesn’t go up per heavy hit? Mine doesn’t appear to go up “one second per heavy hit” and just expires in X number of seconds regardless. The fiery-weapon-animation expires at the same time too.
Is there any way to confirm medium-weave hits are actually extending the igneous weapons timer? I’m super-new at EOS btw so sorry if I’ve missed something obvious.
Sorry not milky, Evanonian rather. And BzeeB mentioned it earlier too. I wouldn’t be too worried if it was just the addons not picking up the +1 second extends but the animation in the game itself seems to end at the same time.
How do you guys know you’re actually getting the +1 seconds to igneous at all? ??
I’ve noticed this too and have wondered the same thing. Figured it was something I was doing wrong, but apparently not.
I can get igneous weapons to extend now but only when I do a full heavy attack. 🙁 The buff timers from addons I’m using don’t register it but the flaming weapon animation does extend. Bit sad about the whole thing really.
Also makes me wonder if some other skill bonuses that you’d get from a heavy attack don’t get applied but the game unless it’s a full-length heavy…
That strange, I need to test it out more, but I still use it for ult generation or Igenous Shields.
Yeah, could partially be a lag issue for me???
Made a reddit post about it here too that people offered some really helpful responses to:
People described latency issues when playing with others from far-flung countries (which would make sense given that I’m in NZ) – basically that holding LMB for longer is needed to score a legit heavy attack if you’re lagging. I’m also wondering whether FTC incorrectly reports heavy attacks for me because it figures out whether a heavy is a heavy just from what’s happening locally on my PC without actually engaging in what the server at the other end actually says is happening.
People have also suggested that the API used by addon programmers was nerfed a while back so addons now only use pre-set timers for buffs and don’t have access any messages (eg: extensions to duration) from in-game.
I use this build as VR3 and it’s fantastic. Really helped me power through the grinding process and it’s sick in dungeons too. Thanks a ton Deltia! Great guides.
what else is increasing your weapon damage? I know the ravager set and hunding rage increase weapon damage by 472 but, I don’t understand how its 2680 w/o the buffs. Can you shed some light on this?
Maybe i think im not sure one of the constelations has a 12% weapon damage boost not sure though?
Hi Deltia! I’m new to this game and I want to start playing a Dragon Knight. Thing is, character builds in ESO seems pretty confusing to me. Shall I start playing like whatever feels right to me and start working on guides when I’m high level? What would you suggest for starters? This game feels overwhelming 😀
I wouldn’t use this build to start, try the Laceration. Also DK takes around level 25 to feel ultra powerful. Until then it can be challenging. But yes, try what works best and I think magicka is superior early on.
It’s possible to have the link build complet please with skill
When I update it yes.
What do you have to update? I thought this was a update 6 build.
I really like this build and it’s interesting but could u make a DK DW build completely focused on dps Which can surpass 15k dps
Hey deltia I want to 2nd this. I would really like to see another build you come up with that focuses again on dual weild/2h or maybe dual weild/staff but without needing to spam potions for the dps in order to achieve really good dps. Thank you for everything you do.
Well it would simply be loading up your bar with buffs and spamming wrecking block. Thus why I don’t have fun playing stamina.
we all love your guides but i have 1 question that confuses me. I am not sure if that has been asked already cause i dont read books so pardon me if you answered it before. Sometimes, like in this build you are using 2 heavy armor pieces. But i cant find out why you are using Legs and Hands as Heavy Armor in this build. Don’t you have a higher armor difference if you are using Chest and Legs as heavy armor instead of hand and legs?
Yes since they are large slots.
I’m quite new to ESO and interested in your builds. I’m surprised however about the fact that the use of potions seems to be the most important thing to do much dps. Drinking potions every 40 sec – how can this be fun? 🙁 Is drinking potions an essential thing in ESO or can I do good dps without potions?
You can setup your bars to be independent of potions.
you mean with quickslots right? still seems like a burden. Wish there was another way. I am currently duel welding primary and secondary is 2h. Should I max stam? Or go a little into magicka? I like some of the magicka skills but I want to be able to heal myself while doing high dps. thanks for taking the time to answer and help people. I am going to donate To you because of your hard work.
Max stamina for sure.
You’ve killed me a bunch of times, thanks for the tips!
I have been using all 2 handed with heavy armor. I started leveling up a Bow to have some ranged attacks in Cyrodiil. Should I drop that and pick up a sword and board instead?
If you want to be a blocknight yeah, otherwise keep 2H for melee fighting.
I noticed that with Flawless Dawnbreaker, Battle Roar does not get activated. Is this for everyone or is this just a bug for me?
im thinking of going woodelf, would that be viable. Also aside from tanking a bit, is there any way for emergency heals?
umm yes to both? if so any suggestion on a sustainable dps woodelf DK?
I would love to see an updated version of this build with your current take on the game , i’m sure you would be able to add to this build & make it better look forward to hopefully seeing one!! have gone back to my stam DK (imperial) after being a bit lost for direction on magicka Dunmer one.
cheers for all the ideas and inspiration , have improved my game play 10 fold from what you do with this web page . You Da Mannn!!!!!
Im a totally new player to ESO and I really enjoy playing this build. Got a few questions tho.
1: Is there any special reason for taking 1 Night Silence and 1 Night’s Mother dagger, wouldnt it be better to get the 2-set bonus?
2: The weapon enchant on your dagger #1 says: Power, is that the same as Glyph of Weapon Damage ? cause I cant find any Glyph of Power ingame.
Sorry for the nub questions and thx for all your work =)
Set bonuses mainly and I don’t understand your second question.
Thx for the reply, as for the second question:
In your gearlist under glyph it says: Power
I cant find any glyph of Power ingame so I just wondered if they changed the name on that glyph or if I should just keep looking for glyph of Power.
Wait deltia I want to use this build but does it work for end game and before VR?
I followed the guide, don’t have all skills leveled completely but i do have the dual wield skills. i have all the gear an I cant even kill a group alone in spellscar. Should I be able to take on 4 mobs at a time? have over 20k health and die pretty easily
Hey Deltia. First of, thanks for your awesome guides and videos. I am brand new to ESO (gonna play the shit out of eso when it hits PS4). Quick question, do you recommend to lvl up with the laceration build and then switch to Dual Wield when i hit 50? or should i just practice the DW (bloodybutcher) build while i am leveling up. And second, is Dummer always the class you want if your gonna go a DK
Hi I’m getting eso on ps4 and I want to know is there a good build for dragon knight dps for pve/pvp using 2 handed as primary source of damage I can’t really find this build nowhere is it not that good?
Robert Steadman says
Hey man, could you please tell me what class i should go for best DPS in the game?
Thanks heaps 😀
Hey deltia I was wondering which build do u find better for pve and pvp the butcher or laceration
I prefer magicka and Laceration because of self healing. Much more burst in the butcher however.
Hey bro, was just wondering if this “bloody butcher” DPS build would be successful on PVP as well.. Look forward to your reply bro.
You can modify it for more burst or aoe depending on your playstyle. It’ll work just modify it as you see fit.
Can you post a picture of the passive and active abilities along with the skills
, it was a little hard to follow on the vid. Cheers
Waiting for your passives as well!!!
I’m planning to follow your build with WW and see what happens!
Do I need to change something or should I keep the same atributes and skills??
tks for your help!! U Rock!
This month? 😀 looking forward it knowing all the passives and whatnot, too
I’m a one man Army, it’s hard to update everything.
One question. I wanna try your build now on ps4 but ferocious leap is an ulti how i can use ferocious leap and dawnbreaker at the same time :0
You can’t, one or the other. Also you’ll unlock a second bar at level 15.
Nvm 😀 the pic is just wrong linked 😀 sry
What you think it’s better for this Dunmer or Imperial?, Do you think Vampire would still viable?
For this build, Imperial and I like Vampire but I’d go WW for this.
Where did you get “Caltrops” from??I can’t find it any where….Thank you
Alliance War skill or PvP.
Great build, but is there a better alternative to rapid strikes as it doesn’t seem to do much damage, i think i do more with a power attack. Also would you recommend Vamp or WW or neither for this build?
You can go 2H for more burst and WW.
kyle moon says
hey there im currently working on my vet rank 3 dragonknight on xbox one and i was just wondering how you got 21000 health with no points put into it, so far i have 20 points into health and emperor bonus and only have 19000 and im an orc…
Well I’m at VR14 with VR10 food so yeah 19000 health is good.
Werewolf good or not?
Nice looking build, I’m completely new to elder scrolls using PS4 and trying to follow you clip which isent that easy for a newbie sorry lol, could you post passive and any other pics so us newbies can follow easier please, many thanks.
Thanks for creating such a great build but I was wondering how you increased your health to 19000 without using any attribute points.
What foods did you use to increase your health and how long do the effects of such foods last?
Health glyphs on my armor, tri stat food 2 hours.
Hey there, great guide as ever. I have a question about dragonknight builds. Iam only lvl 30 now and Ive been using the laceration or whatever it is 😀 Iam dunmer and I want to hear your thoughts about easiest build on dunmer dk for solo pve. I want the balance with effective and easy so I dont want it to be really hard but really effective or really easy but not effective at all. I know it is a difficult question but I hope you will find time for this 😀 I had no time experimenting with this so Iam going ask you :3 Thanks
Iam sorry I just thought about it a little and look at the build more throughoutly and Ill play this one so Iam okay now xD thanks for the great buid
Try Laceration, its very easy to level the entire game that way.
Do you think I should aim for this build even thought I’m just level 21? I have read that for low levels is good to have 5 heavy armor and 2 Medium armor. What do you think would be some good pointers to do fine in low levels and then aim to the top. Thanks in advance.
I’d probably wait and use 5 medium 2 heavy until end game.
Thanks again. This really helped me and what you said at the very end about me not having the time to research it and you did or do is very appreciative. The good part is that your explanations are growing on me. I have a much better idea of the game mechanics and how they effect the character choices.
First of all thank you very much for all that you have accomplished here 🙂
This trully keeps the game community alive and enhances it!
I am 100% new to ESO and I am 100% lost 😀
I picked the Dragonknight class and picked Dunmer has a race.
I love dual wielding and meele stuff and smash everything in my way, and smash a little… I am a meele lover thats it.
But, I also like to manage a bow or something which I consider a very good option for PvP matches. I’ve played many games before and I always end up using a mix of meele and distance for PvP when I can. (guild wars 2 for example)
So, my doubt is…
Shall I follow this build since level 1? (I am level 8 at the moment)
Do you advice me picking up other build and swap at the end?
I really want a good PvE vuild but honestly I love PvP and I will spend hours playing it.
Honestly just adjust it to your play style. These builds are just a starting point where you can mold and shape whichever way you like.
Is there any kind of build that you advise following for a Bow?
Can I have 2H, Dual Weild and Bow skills?
What about the Dark Elf skills and taht stuff? Worth spending any points?
This build can work, just swap out 2h or dw.
I was wondering if I can switch either dw or 2h out for sword & board and if so which abilities should I have on my bar?
thanks in advance
If it works for you better, sure.
hey delta just wondering now that molten weapons only grants a 40% buff to heavy attacks what do you suggest
Josh Hill says
I was wondering what set could replace Ravager?
josh hill says
I was wondering what set i could use in replace of ravager
How do you feel about dual wielding axes with poison enchantments for this build ?
I am going to be out of the country for the next month but plan on trying this build out with my v9 DK wood elf when I get back!
Sounds good, needs update which I’m working on.
Love your build guides! Is there anyway You can show what skills you would use with this build if you used a Bow instead of a 2h as a secondary? Some Dungeon Bosses have Heavy Hitting Close Range attacks, so I’m looking for a little more versatility.
That is the same opinion I have man.
try spamming focus aim and then when they get close use magnum shot and go back to spamming focus aim. works well for me
Hey @Deltia, using this build now with my own twist of things and primarily using bow because im only Vet2 and still squishier in fights. But my main question is, do the medium attacks that count as heavy restore stamina as well? Also, can you recommend a skillbar for bow in the guide as alot of people would find that useful, thanks!
is the passive medicinal use absolutely necessary because I rarely use potions and I don’t wanna level both my main and alt’s alchemy to level 50
You can have the two buffs, but its easier for me to just use potions.
I was wondering, if the whole point of igneous weapon is to get the minor brutality buff from the mountains blessing passive, then why not use another earthen heart ability like obsidian shield to be a bit more tanky yet still get the minor brutality buff? btw I really like this build, everything is squishy against my dk 🙂
Any Earthen Heart skill.
Alejandro Ley says
Can this build be used in lower levels like veteran rank 1
Hey Deltia, I’m coming back to the game in preparation for IC. Is this build still viable/effective nowadays? Don’t know how much has changed since 1.6 and now.
Yes but I’ll update before IC drops.
What would you recommend for the skills if you are using a bow?
Dude I REALLY REALLY like this build! But I am only VR2 almost VR3, do you think I should start shaping my character to this so early? I just really like this build!
Sure if it works for you.
hey deltia is venom arrow or poison injection better for pve? also how would you turn this build into a pvp build? thanks
my vr4 imperial dk with all points pumped into stam is sitting at around 10k health and 19k stamina right now. is reaching 20k health something I should be worried about now or is it because I’m just low level?
Did you write up a magicka based DK DPS build? I chose a high elf DK so would like to take advantage of the passives.
Love Love Love your builds, I am using you Laceration Build and its amazing. I am trying to vary now, but I am not a big fan of 2 handed weapons. Can you do a Stamina Build DPS with Dwal Wield and Bow? Thanks 😉
That weapon crit! How? I am at 20% +12% from CP’s. Where is the rest coming from? Just started toying around with this, good work as always.
hi deltia . love all the videos and thank you for taking the time to help us all out. I’m after some help, I have a imperial dk I would love to re mold into a dual wield stamina freak . pve build. what gear would u use? I’m lol vetran 1 at moment and was a tank, but changing it now. any help would be greatly appreciated . thank you for your time
Ravager/hundings Skoria. Wait until you reach end game if you want to be a powerhouse.
was wondering what wouldi have to change to make this a decent pvp build? and do u have a skill calculator for this..
What will we use instead of Igneous Weapons after the next patch now that it requires a full charged Heavy Attack to function?
I use eruption instead now, for the 70% reduce movement speed and extra DOT but Idk if there might be better.
What do use instead of chains and wat replace for igneous weapons u recommend
Hey Deltia, you always give great information. My question is could I use this build with the dual wield and 2hand with a Templar build from this guide and add in a few Templar abilities and still be able to compete in trials well???
Thank you for your time.
What’s up Deltia? Been using this build for a while.. I’m a Vet 8 DK.. Mainly wanting to focus on DW DPS for PVP. Sometimes I notice I’ll totaly wreck some people, but sometimes it leaves me feeling like “WTF happened” and it won’t look like I did anything.. I’m not sure, but I have noticed there’s a lot more people having success w/2H. Although I’m not totaly against going to 2H Id much rather remain a DW/Bow.. For the type of build im looking for should I be focusing more on my Crit% of my weapon Damage to murder the most people lol… Thanks bro, look forward to your reply.
Ok my question got removed… v8 DK here.. I’ve been using this Bloody butcher build for a while.. Im mainly into PVP, was wondering is Crit % or weapon damage more important for this build.. Sometimes I’ll wreck a high lvl player and sometimes I’ll lose to a V2 not sure what I’m doing wrong… HELP!!
For pvp sustainability is more important than both. Swap hun dings for whitestrakes and pump up your stam recovery. Magicka dk is most likely a better option with dodge roll nerf. Just my opinion though.
Hey deltia, so since I don’t gave the potions what should I take out so I can either put in camo or flames of oblivion
Deltia, what is more viable for this build? Putting CP points into flame damage and mighty? Does putting points in flame damage give more dps?
Is there a way you could send me a list of where you spent every skill point? Im having a hard time deciding where to put them in every category.
I’ll update it soon.
Why you has unstable flame for leap?
Excited for the updated version!
Goodluck, and looking forward to it.
Wait for more information’s your video’s are very good for everyone to would play but haven’t to much time like me. Thank you for your work !
Wow man thats impressive I just started to play teso and I’m now on level 10 should I start leveling for this or should i wait???And how long it took you ti finish it???
How is it possible to have so many health points with 0 attributes spent on it?
Food, glyphs, mundus, cyrodiil bonuses, attributes have little to do with max health which most people don’t realize.
Hey deltia im currently trying to run something similar to this only with a stam orc. Would a magic orc with 2h and dw work for end game content? Only reason i ask is cuz magority dk moves seem stronger for magic builds.
I’m kinda new to DK’s in general and was wondering if I swapped out the bow for Destruction staff and the two heavy pieces for light armor…would this be ok or am I ruining myself? Thanks.
Im playing stamina Dk, my bars looks like this:
2h – executioner, gdb, rally, critical charge, deep breath; ulti – corrosive armor
dw- rapid strikes, steel tornado, unstable flame, ignious weap, burning breath, ulti – flawless breakdown.
7 medium, hunging rage 5 p., night mother 2 p.
what should i change to increase my dps and have chances to survive. ps. i dont like 2h at all..
Than use bow with Resolving Vigor
what skills for the bow if not the 2h
how are you using unstable flames and Searing Strike when i turned it to unstable flames i cant go back please tell me how i can use both
Is this still competitive with the 1.7 / 2.1 / IC DLC, making a Stamina based DPS Dragon Knight and wonder if I should still follow this build as at least my baseline and tweak as needed?
how are you using Unstable Flames and Igneous Weapons once i morfp igneous weapons i can no longer have both please someone help
how are you using both Unstable Flames and Igneous Weapons once i morph igneous weapons how can i go back im level 25 was i to have it in my load out be4 i morphed it ? please help
how are you using both Unstable Flames and Igneous Weapons once i morph igneous weapons how can i go back im level 25 was i to have it in my load out be4 i morphed it ? please help
unstable flame and igneous weapon are two different ability
how you fig that you got 2 morp igneous weapon 2 get unstable flame
if they are different ability where are they i only see igneous weapon in the fire ability and if i morph it it turns to unstable flames dont get help
Deltia, I love the Bloody Butcher build. Feels like it goes together very well. I cant wait for the next update 🙂
ok i dont get this use this
Flawless Dawnbreaker [Ultimate] how can i use Unstable Flame
Igneous Weapons in a load out you cant if so how you have to morph one to make the other ? i understand all but the butcher one
-unstable flame is a morph of searing strike, second ability in Arden flame skill tree
-igneous weapon is a morph of molten weapon, second ability from earthen heart skill tree
where do i get Igneous Weapons at so sry for the messup and all the post was showing that it didnt post so i post more now they all did sry
Hello I was wondering how this compares to laceration build for dps I know you posted 10k here and 18k in laceration but im wondering what was the gear difference does bloody butcher have potential for dps numbers close to laceration build. I would really like to switch from laceration to bloody butcher but dont want to loose out on that much ds difference.
sorry also if you wouldnt mind answering is this exact build still the same with new patch or are major changes needed.
Specifically the ravager set capped at 14, what is best for a replacement?
Ravaged has a vr16 version you can only get it through rewards for the worthy and end of campaign rewards
Do you have a screenshot of that? Because I have yet to see any proof.
I was using 5 ravager, 5 hundings and skoria. (2 axes or 2 handed or bow hundings so I keep 5 or 4 piece set bonus of
What do you think is the new best in slot gear for stamina dps builds?
I like that but two Daggers of Agility for PvE.
Since the Imperial City update What is the new best I slot gear for a stamina dps build?
Thanks for all the great information.
I still like Ravager and Hundings with Precise Daggers of Agility.
Hey deltia i havr been following ur lacerstion build but i saw recently u said u were not being succesful with new patch so my question is , is this bloody butcher build still bood for this patch should i switch to this build
Hey my is anyone using this build end game and knows how it compares to laceration build
I second this. I would think the this ones’ DPS is lower but much is less squishy (maybe just b/c my customizations).
Do you have or can u make a dps / tank build
That uses duel weild dps/one hand & shield tank
In the recent update they patched igneous weapons to where it only works with a full charged heavy attack. Do you still recommend igneous or would you replace it with something else?
the recent update they patched igneous weapons to where it only works with a full charged heavy attack. Do you still recommend igneous or would you replace it with something else?
Hey deltia, me again,
I have tried playing Dk as you recommended (using Bow and dw) for stamina build. I did so, but i cant score high dps.
Im using hunging rage 5 p(medium), bastion for health (2) till i get molag kena second p. so 7 medium.
bars looks like this:
dw: rapid strikes, breath, tornado, gdb, whip. ulti f. leap
bow: venom arrow, stone fist/eruption, acid arrows, evil hunter, hardned armor ulti – flaveless downbreaker.
I score more dps with dw than bow, then im orianted bow as a single dps, and dw as aoe dmg.
what should I change?
1.why r u using whip as a stam dps
2.why stonefist/ eruption as stam dps? interrupt and snare isn’t dps’ job
3.why acid arrow if ur already using tornado for aoe?
4. why isn’t evil hunter double bar?
5. where’s ur major weapon power buff? do u use weapon power potion?
Why acid, Cuz i dont have snipe yet:/ im using scatter shot in in replacement of acid.
Why whip? I have magicka unused so why no to drain it a bit for additional dmg.
For major brutality, im using flying blade. Switching with whip.
Evil hunter is just for dungeons mostly.
Eruption is great skill for small aoe dmg and opponents miss opportunity. Stone fist is a cc. Dont have any other with bow and dw. So im using this one to stun.
A very common way a lot of stam dks do their damage is from wrecking blow since each attack gets the empowered buff (20% dmg to next target). Try that instead of bow. Also use executioner for low health enemy burns and use rally for the heal and the major brutality buff (20% more weapon dmg). Then use a earthen heart ability to get the minor brutality buff (5% more weapon dmg), preferably molten weapons of a sort. Try that should provide better results. 🙂
Those it works for pvp?
Hey deltia I was wondering if we are going to see an updated version for IC anytime soon?
Still working on it today.
Hey thanks for the update, I do have a question though, where should I focus my champion points when I only have 90 lol
Trashy Ratchet says
Hey Deltia, when you click on the champion point graphic, it sends you to a blank champion point sim page. You can’t see what specific skill you put the points into within the constellation. You can only see the total for each constellation from the graphic.
Huh works for me, might take a second to load. Also I show CP in the video too.
Trashy Ratchet says
Wait, If you copy the link address and paste it into a separate browser window, it works. For some reason it isn’t working in chrome by a click.
Trashy Ratchet says
Little more troubleshooting info. Seems to work with an update to the chrome browser. Didn’t work right with version 45, but did with updated 46. If anyone is having trouble with build links, that may help.
Deltia,Let me start be saying thank you very much for the DK builds.I’m sure this has been asked before, but what would you recommend as a replacement for the two piece monster set?Because I don’t have any XD.
Reply never mind just missed it in the video sorry.
Hey delta do you think a redguard will be better than a dark elf
In your new build you’re using 1 light, 3 heavy, and 3 medium is that correct?
Pretty sure the gloves and legs are supposed to be medium for 5/1/1. I imagine that was an oversight from editing his build from the Bloody Butcher, because he says to use 5/1/1 in the Armor notes below.
That was my thought too, just wanted to make sure before I go wasting crafting materials. Is the 5 piece ravager set still a viable second part to this build once it gets the bump to 16 next month?
It’s getting updated? I didn’t hear/know that. Yeah it’ll kick ass for sure than.
Why dagger,no one hand sword?
would love to see what you come up with for pvp purposes.. DKs need help!
Yes I second that!
Looking forward to the lower levels leveling guide, thanks as always!
hello , I am following your advice but I can not win against a Nightblade , what do you recommend I do to get the better ?
Well might play something else with more healing.
Is the Burning Butcher viable for PvP? If so would it be better to swap 2H for a bow for the extra range? Thanks for your time Deltia
I’d stay with 2h/dw cause you have crit rush as a gap closer and flying blade (which hits like a truck) as a ranged ability plus it slows and grants major brutality.
Is this viable for PvP? If so, would it be better to dedicate 2H as my main melee and use a bow for a secondary ranged weapon? Thanks for your time with these builds Delia, they’ve been really helpful!
With 3000 dps it really rock
Pretty good in PvP with all this armor
If I have a medium helmet can I do 1 heavy piece of hundings rage or will I lose weapon damage that way?
Can you give some pointers on using burning butcher on pvp . Thanks , your builds are AWSOME
What tips are you looking for?
Let me say I love the build. I had no idea about minor and major buffs til I watched your first video on this. I almost have this exact build at vet 16. I have the agility. I’m thinking about going with Molag Kena on helm. Someone told me yesterday that Valkyn Skoria got Nerfed and it sucks now is that true?
More importantly… How do you have all your attribute points into stamina and your health is so high? What am I missing? I have many atrribute points into health to get it to like 14,000 without food and just under 20,000 I think with vet 15 blue food. I’m an Orc which had max health and stamina I think. I’ve looked this over many times and I cannot figure it out. I’m on PS4. Is it different? Am I missing something here? I want to sink all my points into stamina. I have around 30,000 stamina and 20,000 health and I can’t figure it out???
I have just bought Endurance jewerly with robust trait and enchanted with wep damage. Would this work? Also would this build work with new Vet solo arena??
Any suggestions for jewelry to use while leveling this through vet ranks?
Just buy some from the mages guild and enchanters and you’ll be fine.
Hey Deltia that ks for this page awesome stuff here I have started shaping my DK into the burning butcher loving the build. I know this is built around Valkyn set but would you say molag kena is the new way to go as you get the extra WD and bonus on the 2 piece? Cheers
Probably not two pieces but I’m on to stamina DK next.
I have been grinding hard to get this build I went with Neir’neth shoulders and helm and I like how it works I also swapped out flying blade for breath as most bosses seem immune to fire damage? Maybe I have that wrong took me about a month but I have the robust agility sets. I also wanted to understand your thoughts going all divine as the rumor is there is a hidden bonus going all divine! Final question how would you tweak this build for PVP? I love your work congrats on the new edition to the family and enjoy your first Christmas as a dad! Looking forward to being slaughtered by you once again in cyrodill! 🙂 I learn from my bruises!
I don’t think any boss is immune to fire damage that I know of. I’ve switched to all divines and it seems be producing a lot more damage with Thief mundus stone. For PvP tank I just run my laceration with Blackrose or Elfbane for more damage, tri pots and engine guardian. Thanks for your comment 🙂
Thanks Deltia… I also left you a small donation in appreciation of all the time you have saved me. I use Lui extended add on and when I hit many bosses I get the message “target is immune” when I use breath or other fire based special attacks. That is where I gleaned that information it is good to know that this is not the case as Lui does not provide the same overlay that the outdated ftc does maybe it is time I go back to wykydd and ftc or advanced ui! As always thanks for the help you have saved me enormous amounts of time doing what you do!
Thanks for your donation. I’ve never used LUI so I don’t know, but thanks again.
Mulatto Cortez says
Hey Deltia, I wanted to say a big thank you for all the time you invest into these builds. It’s a major help specially when you can become overwhelmed with all the options.
I had a quick question if it’s alright…. out of the DragonKnight DPS builds; you have a build ‘Burning Butcher’ for update 2.2 and ‘Bloody Butcher’ for update 6. – Which 1 out of these 2 is the later/latest build?
I’m following both the guides taking a bit from each.
2.2 is the most recent update.
When using Breath as an Dragon Knight it applyies slow also thought an passive, this is why it saies immun when using the ability Breath because bosses are immun to slow effects and other cc’s.
Deltia have you recived any 1h weapons with the Duel wield enchant on in Maelstrom jet?? would be pretty nasty with all thoes DoT’s.
Great and easy to play but fun build!
But i was wondering how you can take this build to PVP? what would you change to the skills? Really curious!
I’m updating this today.
i was just wondering if the khajiit racial for crit is applied to the morphed versions of the abilities that gor from magika to stamina
Yes, like Unstable Flame example.
What is the race of your brutal butcher?
I made a redguard stam DK dps (used 2 handed and bow 5 – medium 2 heavy) and was pretty damn OP pre vet 15. groups of players & 1v1’s had about a 50/50 success rate (which i was happy with). I could solo resources from level 35 onwards
(played scourge campaign UE server got emperor at vet 10) –
I had about 220 champion points at the time.
the aim of the build initially was to be an annoying b**** who was hard to kill & dealt some serious damage.
then i started to enjoy playing her – and still do so this is why im sad. 🙁 because the seccond i hit vet 15 i died the second something looked at me 🙁 ive switched 2 handed to dual wield mainly for the speed of attacks, its helped a bit… but wondering if u could suggest a fix?
thnx in advance
Well I’d go with all medium and try the medium armor skill, morphed to Shuffle. It helps a lot when having trouble surviving (avoiding physical damage and removing snares). It allows you to get away if you’re overwhelmed.
thnx 4 responding – will definatley give all medium a go; and will give shuffle another go… now what to ditch from my bar… hmmmmm LOL
David Blangstrup says
Is The Bloody Butcher still adequate in patch 2.2.9?
No, Brutal Butcher is updated.
David Blangstrup says
/the brutal butcher
Just wondering if you could possibly update the item table for the new brutal butcher build? I am getting a bit confused with what is what since in the video you have different items from the written table. If not, it’s cool, I’m sure i’ll figure it out eventually 😛
My gear table is updated and it’s here: https://deltiasgaming.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Brutal-Butcher-Gear.jpg
Sorry for bothering again but can I ask how come in your video you have a 2h Mace and a bow and not two 2h swords? Just wondering if I should be levelling with a 2h and Bow or two 2h’s. Thanks
Also, sorry for the double post, that is your butcher gear table from 2015? I looked at the 2016 page and it had the 2h and bow butt different stat? Just wondering as I am going to create a new character based on this build and want to know as much as possible before I make him
David Blangstrup says
Yes, it’s rather confusing, would be nice with some clarification. Foir example it says
Brutal Butcher (leveling build / non vet PvP)
Burning Butcher (Update 2.2)
Bloody Butcher (update six)
… so what’s the Brutal Butcher? I didn’t get that the first time, I’m afraid.
It’s a non vet PvP build to use while level.
David Blangstrup says
btw totally nice build! (The Brutal Butcher)
David Blangstrup says
Yes, I get that, but is it 2.2.9 and up to date, or is it earlier?
I have a dark elf and would like to try this stam build. However I am wondering if it is an effective build for a dunmer DK?
Hey Deltia, awesome guides. Are updates to Burning Butcher for 2.2.x on the table currently?
Yes working on it today in game. Polishing up some things and it’ll be done tomorrow most likely.
Can’t wait 🙂
it is possible to play the Brutal Butcher as PVE only or is it better than to play Burning Butcher?
Thanks a lot for your answer
I’ve added the PvE version and video at the bottom. I’ll be spend tomorrow finishing the Burning Butcher update.
Perfekt. So good news for me so i doesnt need the bow skilline.
And one more Questions. Is it possible without any Assault Skills so without any PVP Skills ?
Yes but very difficult.
Hm so than i have to search for leveling these Skills. But it is a pain for me see no ligth in the dark
Which stamina build do you prefer, the brutal butcher or the specter in terms of most fun to play and the best overall? I want to max out the accounts but it’s so time consuming that I only want the best of the best.
My all time favorite combat style is stamina NB, and NB DPS will always be near the top. That being said, DK is an absolute blast for different reasons. If you like to play sneaky, NB, tanky, DK.
Your Non-Vet PvP & Leveling build is awesome. I never imagined I would have so much fun using a bow. In PVP wars the bow and especially the AOE skills are so much fun and I finally get loads of kills. Now all I need to do is level my bow skills. Thank you for the guides.
I am working on leveling my DK, and enjoying the new burning butcher stam build. Wondering about Leveling, should I switch out the back bar bow for the 2H until I get maelstrom weapons? Thinking about running 2H with the following set-up:
1: Extended Chains – Gap Closer (Can change if needed, find it easier against casters)
2: Igneous Shield (or Weapons) – Switch depending on Solo or Group Play
3: Executioner – Execute
4: Rally – Heal/Buff
5: Flames of Oblivion – To keep buff from bar 1
U: Standard – Obvious Reasons
My bar 1 is identical to your DW Bar, and I don’t have access yet to Caltrops or Vigor for a back bar build. Also, with Heavy Weapons trait, should I go Axe 2H for the additional bleed, or Sword for 5% damage?
Here’s a link to my set-up I have currently (or am shooting for): http://www.esohead.com/calculator/skills#1.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
Axe is a good option.
Pardon me, I know you probably tired of questions like this, but for theBrutal Butcher PVE version if we have neither monster sets or malstorm weapons what would you suggest as a alternatives?
Yes the build below it shows an option without Maelstrom Weapons.
So 5 piece hunding rage and 2 piece Night Silence with Night Silence weapons correct?thanks for your time.
David Blangstrup says
The brutal butcher 2.2.9 is awesome. And thnaks for the exact patch listing.
Having said that, try listening closely to the video’s audio–every time you speak, there is a metallic overtone/high frequency echo of some sort. And no, it’s not my headphones (I have a studio).
Once you’ve noticed it, you can’t let go until you have fixed it. 😉
Huh, ill turn my gain down.
Can i use heavy armour to tank a little more
Sure but every piece of heavy armor you use, you’ll love damage.
I don’t get it, in the video it shows a maul and a bow but on gear it shows sword and sword I’m a little confused haha.
Long time follower of your guides & videos and still loving the content you push out to this day.
I’m a PS4 player and recently made a new Imperial stam DK following the efficient levelling guide, worked like a charm.
But what build can we use to do our veteran levelling (for DKs), and still do pledges etc properly? The guides here point either at sub veteran pvp or end game builds.
Thanks for the input, appreciate it!
Well this build works for both PvE/PvP. My YouTube has in depth game play to show you how to play it.
Delia would it be plausible to create a bow build in the new thieves guild DLC? if so what class would you most recommend?
Yes, Nightblade running 5 Hawkeye 5 Marksman. I’ll do a build on it once I collect the gear.
A Squishy DK says
I got a VR3 Imperial DK running you brutal butcher build.
I am questing at Al’Akir Desert and i am really struggeling.
I can hardly do a group of 3 enemies, i tried to solo a Dolmen and failed many many many times then i stopped trying.
I switched the Bow-Bar to 1H/Shield with Green Dragon Blood, Burning Breath, Unstable Flame, Ransack and Volatile Armor. It helped a bit but still i suck XD
I wear 5 Heavy 2 Medium all Stamina enchanted and all atribute points in stamina but i got no set items.
Is it possible that the set bonuses make such a big difference?
Can you give me a tip how to do better?
Would really appreciate it cause i really enjoy EsO again but if i keep dying that may change 🙁
Well you’re not using my build if you switched to heavy armor and sword and shield. I have my skills and setups listed, maybe try the build with the exact skills otherwise that’s your build not mine.
A Squishy DK says
Thx for your reply 🙂
I think i explained it a bit wrong maybe because my english isn’t that good 😀
I used 7 pieces medium (all stam) but i switched to 5 heavy 2 medium same time i switched out the bow bar cause i thought it may give me more survivability what it did but it’s still not enough and it lowered my dmg of course :/
Are the sets much difference?
I can’t craft the set pieces at the moment cause i need to get more analyses first what i am working on.
Or do i expect too much from a v3 DK?
Yes sets are much different. VR3 DK should be able to survive almost anything if you have passives and skills I’ve listed out.
First of all, thanks for all the work you put into this. Great guides, great videos!
So this weekend I watch some videos and re-made my Nord Dragonknight, retiring him and switching to Dark Elf. However I think I was watching the wrong video because I had it in my head that I should go dual-wield to start, and add 2-H at 15.
But now I see the leveling guide says Bow & 2H. I’m only level 8 but I would still rather not re-roll again. I spent maybe 3 points in Dual Wield. Should I just write those off and go to bow starting now? Maybe Thieves Guild will come with a free re-spec!
Wanted to know if bloody butcher build is good for pvp and us their any changes coming with new thieves guild ? Try to find a build for my Nord
Would you still go for the same build on bloody butcher today, it looks like they have changed some on the ravager set. Dont think its more than one could fix with glyphs…..or should one wait for the new update , case of the they apply new sets to the game that would work better.
Well the build is updated below, though I use ravagers for leveling now.
is this a good build to run at vet 16 in pvp these days? or is it only good for non vet
PvP Brutal Butcher is good still.
Hey Deltia, first respect for your good work ! I like it !
Any plans for a DK Stamina Build Update for Update 2.3.5 ?
Greetz from Stuttgart/Germany
Update plz! 😀 thx
What passives should I use for stuff like medium armour and two handed?
Will dark elf still be good for the brutal butcher? And will it still work with dual wield instead of two handed?
Yes turns out it’s actually better in PvE due to fire damage.
Hello Deltia, i really enjoy your video about the Burning Butcher, and i was just wondering : on your secondary bar, the one with the arc, wouldn’t that be better to put the poisoned arrow, as “finisher”, for the extra damage under the 50%, and this instead of Flame of Oblivion ?
I mean Flame of Oblivion is here for the Weapon and Spel crit, but we only use the bow for one skill, so no need for crit, is it ?
That’s a good question and you can swap in Poison Injection if you wanted.
Hey, i really enjoyed your video about burning butcher !
Ut i was wondering, wouldn’t that be ebtter to replace flame of oblivion in the secondary bar (the one you played an arc with) by poisoned arrow, as a little help as “finisher” ? (for the extra damage under 50% of health) ?
Sorry for the double post :X
Hey Delita! (Is your name a hat tip to FF Tactics?) First i’d like to give you much respect and appreciation for all the clearcut, detailed and helpful info ( and your not charging for your guides). I’m rolling an Imp DK toon, now lvl 9. I haven’t played ESO since I played the BETA like 2-3 years ago and I just got back into it this week, have full DLC and ESO plus. Im decently well versed in MMO’s from EQ, City of Heroes, WoW, and SWTORO. I’ve always loved playing PvE ( some PvP ) and love love support roles (Tank and Heals). I was following your DK tank build guide, but I noticed I’m comments later that build may be out of date? And that it mostly applies to endgame with lots of CP. I suppose you’d recommend the butcher stam DK to level instead? Is there a way to maybe roll a hybrid between the tank/butcher to lvl my sword n board and two-handed (one bar for each?)? Or should I just roll butcher til endgame and just respec to whatever then? (Sorry I don’t know when to shut-up) thank you!
Sorry a couple more questions and I’ll leave you alone….also ESO seems to play a bit different than other MMOs at endgame. Meaning that it doesn’t seem that a dedicated tank/heals are ass neccesary and it’s better to roll DPS with good survivability instead? Also the true endgame content seems to revolve around PvP more than the PvE (also a lot of good skills/passives seen to require skills in the alliance war tree) where PvP is unavoidable if you want to get the most out of a toon. Are these statements true or is it not quite the way I’m seeing it?
Again Thank you!
ESO does have dedicated roles too. Basically PvP is unavoidable unfortunately due to the abilities you need to get. However, it only takes about a day (4 hours) of PvPing to get these skills.
Yep Zach one of the few to guess right.
Yeah I’m collecting gear now for a new DK Tank build based on gaining ultimate. It’ll take me a few more days to gather it but it’ll be different.
Leveling as magicka is SO much easier than stamina. You just don’t have any self healing early and it’s painful. I’d go magicka then switch to stamina later on.
He Deltia, I read something about divine not stacking over 20%. Divines would have diminishing returns for anything past 20%. So if you had +41% divines your actually only receiving about 27%… Some say to only put divines on 3 of the SMALL armor peices (Shoulders, Belt, Gloves and Boots are “Small”) due to their small enchantment bonus.
What do you know about this?
Divines traits on gear does not have diminishing returns. I recommend all divines because the benefit outweighs extra stats. For the Warrior, you get 213 Weapon Damage with 7 Legendary Divine Traits.
I have been using your Burning Butcher for a while now and since Vr16 I made few changes but I have never gotten close to your health and Stamina combination. My Stamina is around 34k with tri stat food but my health is only near 15k with food. I am using the following:
Vr16 Dunmer Dragonknight
64 points Stamina.
5 Hundings Rage Vr16 purple with purple Stam Glyphs and Divine trait
2 Night Mother Gaze (head and shoulder) Vr 16 purple with purple Stam Glyphs and Divine trait
Night Mother Gace 2H Maul Vr 16 yellow with purple Disease Glyph and Sharpened trait
Night Mother Gaze Bow Vr 16 yellow with purple Disease Glyph and Precise trait
2 Leki’s Focus Rings Vr16 purple robust with yellow Weapon Damage Glyph
1 Leki’s Focus Necklace Vr16 purple robust with yellow Weapon Damage Glyph
Bar 1: Critical Rush, Rally, Evil Hunter, Wrecking blow, Executioner, Take Flight. I swap out Executioner for Unstable Flame depending on the situation.
Bar 2: Razor Caltrops, Retreating Maneuver, Igneous Shield, Lethal Arrow, Resolving Vigor, Shooting Star. I swap our Razor Caltrops for Scorched Earth and Lethal Arrow for Bombard depending on the situation.
With purple Vr10 triple stat food and buffs I have around 4k dmg and almost 60% crit with 34k stamina but I am lacking with my 15k health.
Are you using Health glyphs on your armor instead of Stamina? I don’t know how you are able to hit that much Stamina combined with that much health and then the dmg and crit rating. Could you exactly show what you are using. I am just wondering what I am doing wrong….
And are you going to release a new Stam Dragon Knight Vr16 build soon?
Are you at 501 CP? That makes a difference, plus I have max Undaunted another 2% stats. And all yellow enchants does add up. Yes I’ll be doing a new stamina DK as they are utterly powerhouses even more now.
Not yet at 501 CP but that and yellow Stamina enchants does not have any influence on max health right. I do not have max undaunted yet but 2% stat increase will not increase my health to near 20k.
Ill be waiting for your new powerhouse. I can do dungeons just have to self heal a frigging lot or might change 3 glyphs to health but lose stam that way..
Hi Deltia! I’m new to the game and I have to say by watching videos on YouTube you made me fall in love with stamina DK! I was wondering if this is your non vet build is still usefull? Or do I need to make some changes? I’m only level 13 but I’m following all your steps on this build! Hope to hear from you soon!
Still works no changes.

Hi, I’m a vr11 stamina dk that previously was using the bloody butcher build(haven’t played since Imperial city). I was wondering what build I should use? Right now I’m running 2-hand/dual but don’t know if I should switch? I’m looking for a pvp/pve build for dps. Also as far fas the champion point distribution, where are the best places to invest?
I’m also planning on grinding out 5 vr’s to get to 16 by early next week, so I’m looking at an end-game build. Thanks for the help in advance!
So Im more of a PVE player, but the PVP builds are also catching my attention. I really cant decide where to go. So let me make this easier for myself. If you would point out the best PVE build you have here which one will it be?
Let me also add that I also followed your laceration guide in the past, but since I have been bored lately I wanted to start a new character from scratch.

Hey Deltia was wondering if you could help me out I’m trying to get thru vma as a Stam dk with two handed and bow and I just cannot figure this out any advise you can give would be great
Drop 2h and use Blood Thirst as your primary attack with Duel Wield.
So keep the bow? Or get rid of that too all I’m using it for is hail of arrows
Can you update this DPS Build for Dark Brotherhood. This seems to be a little dated and I can’t find much on the net about Dragonknight DPS Builds.
hey deltia wanted to ask if we want to swap bow with 2h what skills will i be using? do i have to use any skills or passives from bow skill tree or the skills which r used with 2h are to be used ? im confused help me out :3
Very interesting!! I’m really gonna try this. Thanks for the info.
Deltia, is this build still viable? Does a dunmer suck as a stam build dk?
Hey. I need help with my Stam-based Dragonknight. Is there no way for a Stam-based Dragonknight to use fire skills or only the poison ones?
