Developed by Nexon, Vindictus Defying Fate is a stunning action RPG with fast-paced combat and linear mission design. Its atmospheric backdrops take inspiration from Celtic mythology, and the game breathes new life into the original 2010 Vindictus’s lore. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game is known for being demanding on PC hardware. Let’s take a look at the specs the developers recommend to run the game and how that translates into display quality and framerates.

Minimum System Requirements for Vindictus Defying Fate on PC

  • OS: Windows 10 / 11
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-9400F 2.90 GHz / AMD Ryzen 7 1800X 3.6 GHz
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) / Radeon RX 480 8GB
  • RAM: 16GB

The minimum hardware requirements are meant for running the game at 1080p and 60 fps on low settings.

Recommended System Requirements for Vindictus Defying Fate on PC

  • OS: Windows 10 / 11
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K 3.80 GHz / AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 / Radeon RX 5700 XT
  • RAM: 16GB

To play Vindictus Defying Fate at high settings with 1080p 60 fps, players need the hardware recommended above. The demo requires 52 GB of storage.

Vindictus Defying Fate Alpha Demo Performance

Vindictus Defying Fate launched its alpha demo on June 9, 2025. The demo remains available until June 16 and provides some insight into how the game may run on its recommended hardware. As with most Unreal Engine 5 games, optimization is a chief concern for better performance.

The GPU is the primary bottleneck for Vindictus Defying Fate, making it difficult to achieve 60 fps even at 1080p. Using an RTX 3060 will only get you an average of 40 fps at high settings with DLSS set to Quality. Ramping up the DLSS further, beyond Performance, creates blurry image quality and pixelation during combat. The demo also does not feature frame generation, which may be present in the final game.

Although Defying Fate’s alpha performance is not fully representative of the final game’s optimization, it is already one of the major reasons for its negative reviews on Steam. With their PCs struggling to reach 60 fps within the game, players relying heavily on DLSS see a loss of visual fidelity.

Framerates drop substantially while at the hub town of Colhen with several NPCs present, and the game runs noticeably smoother out on combat levels. Hopefully, most performance optimization issues will be ironed out by the time Vindictus Defying Fate is released.
