Another New Wing is a main story quest that starts after the prologue of Where Winds Meet. However, this is not just any quest in the game. It also serves as a tutorial section for the basic gameplay mechanics. This includes movement mechanics like mid-air dashing, archery, and introduction to the Mystic Arts. Needless to say, this quest should help you get familiar with how to play the game before you set out on a journey on your own.

How To Complete Another New Wing Quest in Where Winds Meet
The quest starts after your character wakes up from being attacked by mysterious men who also stole your Jade Pendant. You are then greeted by a little girl named Ruby, reminding you of the promise that you’ll take her to the general store. But before that, you’ll do a bit of detective work. Your goal is to find out why those mysterious men attacked you and took the pendant with them.
Investigate Uncle Jiang’s Place
Once you head outside, look around for points of interest in the area and interact with them. You’ll eventually stare into a Loong Pattern with a dragon carving. Ruby will comment on this, which gives you more clues on what to do next. There is also a spear you can pick up along the way, which is one of the few weapon types in Where Winds Meet.
Heading inside Uncle Jiang’s abode, you need to check out his desk. In there, you will find another clue. It’s a letter that discusses someone asking Uncle Jiang to draw his sword once again. Afterward, Ruby will comment about recently cleaning the Spirit Tablet. It’s another hint that you should check it out for more clues.
Walk With Ruby
With nothing more to investigate, you decide to consult Aunt Han about the incident. With that, you head outside and walk with Ruby. Don’t forget to activate your first Boundary Stone waypoint nearby, named Bamboo Retreat.
As you journey with Ruby, you will encounter various obstacles. These serve as tutorials for various gameplay mechanics. For example, you cross a broken-down bridge, but it breaks down before you can cross. You are then tasked with using a mid-air dash to make it to the other side.
Learn Archery
Moving on, you’ll encounter a “Mysterious Man,” who will hand out an Archery Tome. You will eventually know his name is Feng Jisheng, and he is a member of the Inkbound Order. Opening the tome, you’ll have a quick tutorial for archery in the game. Afterward, you will learn the Still Waters technique, which slows down time while holding your breath.
Unlock the World Map
Once you are done with the archery tutorial, you continue your journey. You will meet up with another stranger. He introduces himself as a Wayfarer. They can be found in various locations in the world. Interacting with him will unlock your own world map.
Once you have a map, he will then ask you to fight a nearby bear. This will serve as a tutorial on how to use Mystic Arts. After defeating the bear, you will learn Tai Chi and continue your journey with Ruby. If you want to take your time, there are multiple side quests you can partake in along the way. Otherwise, you can always keep moving to the next main objective.
Win an Arena Competition
After fighting a bear and learning Tai Chi, you’ll reach the shrine, where you’ll find Ruby, who is now missing in action. Talking with the people in the area, you’ll know that she is inside the Arena. There is a competition ongoing, and you need to participate and win matches.
Interact with Fang Xu, your first opponent. This will be an introduction to the basic combat mechanics in the game. This is also where you will learn about the Qi system. Additionally, there will be a prompt that gives you the option to enable or disable Deflection Assist. This gameplay mechanic lets you negate an attack after deflecting it and reduces the Qi of your opponent.
After winning the Arena Tournament, you get to claim a reward from Old Jin. At first, your character will call him out for giving you trash prizes. After claiming your reward, a tutorial for allocating Talent Points, Skills, and Attributes will show up. Once that’s done, you open the reward and receive a First Step Appearance Kit and a 2x Hemostatic Powder.
Part Ways With Ruby
Once your quality time with Ruby ends, Beard Guang will offer to take her home, and you can be on your way to Heaven’s Pier. Before you part ways, Bear Guang will hand over Uncle Jiang’s book. Once your interaction is done, the Another New Wing quest in Where Winds Meet is completed. Another quest starts titled A Horse Neighs in the Forest.
