The Friendship system is an AI-driven interactive system that lets you befriend NPCs in Where Winds Meet. As you go about exploring the game, you’ll find a ton of NPCs that you can talk to. If you open your map, you’ll be able to spot several marked NPCs that have a hat icon. Talk to these NPCs to initiate the special interaction and befriend them.

How To Make Friends

Talking to the NPC will then bring up a few options you can select. Select the option that has been marked by a hat icon. This will then open up a special chat box. At the top of the chatbox is a brief summary of what the NPC is trying to say, and the suggested response you should give. Below this is the actual chat, and you can see the NPC’s dialog. You can then use the textbox underneath this to type out your response.

Once you type out your response, the game will use AI to read it, and the NPC will then react to your exact words. Once the conversation wraps up, you’ll befriend the NPC.

Friendship Rewards

Once you’ve befriended an NPC, you’re then eligible for weekly rewards. The friend will give you weekly gifts. This means that the more friends you make in the world, the more gifts you’ll receive. The ability to actually chat with the NPCs makes the process of befriending them less of a chore and more of an exciting adventure where you learn new stories. Make as many friends as you can to reap the benefits.
