The Rope Dart is one of the many weapons available in Where Winds Meet. However, if you did not choose this weapon early in the game, you will have to complete a quest to learn its weapon skills. This applies to all the other weapons, except the ones you choose at the start.

You don’t necessarily have to unlock Rope Dart’s weapon skills. Especially if you don’t plan on switching to this arsenal in the future. However, you might want to unlock the rest of the weapon types, just to immerse yourself in the side stories. On top of that, the Disguise skill is one of the most interesting systems in the game.

That said, here is a guide on how you can unlock the Rope Dart weapon skills in Where Winds Meet.

To unlock the Rope Dart weapon skills in Where Winds Meet, you need to complete the Skill Theft quest for this arsenal. To start the quest, simply equip the Rope Dart without a weapon skill. You can do this by doing the following:

  • Head to the develop menu
  • Access the Gear section
  • Select the Rope Dart and equip it
  • Press Spacebar to “Obtain” the weapon skill quest

Once the quest has started, you must head to Kaifeng. Simply follow the quest market to reach the Nine Mortals Ways dojo.

Infiltrate Nine Mortals Ways Dojo

You need to head inside the dojo without being spotted. Head to the marked area inside where you can activate the Skill Theft skill. Keep in mind that you need to be stealthy for this quest. If you get spotted, you will be kicked out of the dojo. You will then have to do it all over again.

If you fail enough times, an NPC will show u, suggesting you try the Disguise skill. It’s a handy gameplay mechanic where you can impersonate someone to easily walk inside restricted areas without causing trouble.

Optional: Disguise Yourself

This alternate path requires you to unlock the Disguise skill and complete one side quest from Shopkeeper Wuyan. This is because you need at least Rank 2 Disguise to impersonate the target NPC in this quest.

Once you are ready, head back to the Nine Mortals Ways dojo and find Muddle near the entrance. Do the minigame where you paint his picture and return to Wuyan. You will then transform into that NPC for around 10 to 15 minutes. If you are going this path, you need to finish the quest fast.

Once you are inside, you need a Token to access the training area. You can ask Zhon Yong for a clue on where you can find this item. He will then ask you to speak with Tiancai. Enter Winds Sense, then ask for the Token. If you are disguised, he will give you the item, and you can now access the training area.

Once you are inside, observe the soldiers in training. You need to step on the blue icon and activate Skill Theft. Next, enter Wind Sense and complete the minigame. You need to reach at least 50 points. You only have 1 minute and 30 seconds to get enough points to complete the Skill Theft check. The premise of the minigame is simple. You only need to focus on hitting the button when a golden circle appears on the screen. If you hit the button during a grey circle, you lose a point. Before heading to the next task, you must first return to your true form and remove your disguise.

Talk To Ni Laoshan

Once you have learned the Rope Dart weapon skill, regardless of what option you chose, speak with Ni Laoshan. He will talk about how impressed he is with your dedication. He will then recruit you to the Nine Mortal Ways.

Once your conversation is over, you then complete The Art of Skill Theft quest in Where Winds Meet. On top of that, you also unlock the Rope Dart weapon skills.
