Where Winds Meet has been made available for the global audience on November 14, ending the players’ wait after a long testing period. It is an action role-playing open-world game, which means weapons play a primary part in the narrative. And the ideal way to start your journey in this game is by choosing the best starting weapons.

Over time, you will unlock all weapons, but there will be a select few that will sculpt how you enjoy and progress further. Keeping that in mind, here are the weapons you should choose as a beginner in Where Winds Meet.

DISCLAIMER: The options below do not include the Sword, which is a default weapon provided at the start of the game.

There are four weapons you can pick from in the early game. These weapons each offer unique gameplay with their own advantages and disadvantages.

Dual Blades

The Dual Blades are one of the four beginner weapons you can pick from. It features fast and light strikes and is generally the easiest to use of all four weapons. Overall, it is an excellent starting choice. But even if you don’t choose it, you can easily obtain it within the first few hours of the game.

Fan

The Fan is a support-based weapon that provides healing to you and allies. Healing items are rare in Where Winds Meet, and any source of healing is extremely important. However, just like the Dual Blades, it can be easily obtained within two to three hours of starting the game.

Glaive

The Glaive consists of slow and powerful strikes, and also gives you a shield. This makes it suitable for tank builds. While it is harder to use than the Dual Blades, it takes much longer to get if you do not pick it up at the beginning.

Umbrella

The Umbrella is a ranged weapon option, similar to a bow of sorts. You throw it out at a distance, and it comes back to you, striking any enemies on the way. It is useful for maintaining a distance and is well-suited to crowd control. But it is the most difficult to use of all four weapons. Moreover, just like the Glaive, it also takes a long time to obtain if you do not choose it in the beginning, taking upwards of 15 hours.

Verdict: What Is the Best Beginner Weapon in Where Winds Meet?

Of the four beginning weapons, the best ones to choose are the Glaive and the Umbrella. Even though the Dual Blades are easier to use and the Fan has the best features, they are readily available near the beginning.

However, if you do not pick the Glaive or the Umbrella, you will be stuck without them for a significant amount of time. So, it only makes sense to pick either of the two as a beginner weapon in Where Winds Meet.

These work well with the basic sword you get at the start of the game. You can combine the Umbrella and the sword to get a perfect combination of offense and defense. Alternatively, the Sword and the Fan combination is also great as they let you heal while doing damage in the same build.
