Destiny 2 The Summoner God Roll and How to Get

This guide has been updated for Episode Echoes and the Final Shape Expansion.

The Summoner is a solar adaptive frame auto rifle reintroduced during the Season of the Wish. The Summoner is a powerful weapon in both PvE and PvP available in the Trials of Osiris PvP game mode. This weapon is a staple in several builds and load-outs, offering great stats and powerful perks. Auto Rifles are a great option in all content.

The best perks for The Summoner PVE God Roll are Arrowhead Brake, Flared Magwell, Heal Clip, and Incandescent. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for The Summoner PVE God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Column 3 Trait: Heal Clip
  • Column 4 Trait: Incandescent
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed
  • Origin Trait: Wild Card
  • Weapon Mod: Back-Up Mag

The Summoner is an unquestionably great option for most PvE load-outs. Traits like Heal Clip give a powerful healing option to classes and builds that otherwise may lack that power. Flared Magwell makes the reload of this weapon faster, which plays into that healing ability. Incandescent is always a powerful option on solar weapons and is rarely outclassed.

Auto rifles are great options on their own, but the Summoner is a class of its own. Heal Clip gives an on-demand heal that just makes this weapon really shine. Make sure you continually activate this ability to keep your health up at all times. While not as necessary with kits that already have healing, the option of having a heal-on-demand is too good to pass up.

The best perks for The Summoner PVP God Roll are Hammer-Forged Rifling, Ricochet Rounds, Dynamic Sway Reduction, and Kill Clip. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for The Summoner PVP God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Column 3 Trait: Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Column 4 Trait: Kill Clip
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Origin Trait: Collective Purpose
  • Weapon Mod: Adept Range (Targeting Adjuster)

It is rare to have a weapon be a great weapon in PvE and PvP, but the Summoner is one of the few. Max out its range by taking Hammer-Forged Rifling and Ricochet Rounds. Dynamic Sway Reduction or Zen Moment are great options to keep the weapon on target. Kill Clip is always a great option for PvP as it lowers the TTK to around .6 seconds on most targets with some accuracy. For a more forgiving option, take Target Lock.

Auto rifles are always a nice forgiving option in PvP. While they are seldom the best choice, their ability to be useful in almost all engagements cannot be understated. Be that as it may, the Summoner tears through opposition better than most. Consider it on maps that need both range and dependability.
