Righteous Authority is a great weapon that boosts your critical damage, and you get it by completing the Call to Arms quest in Fallout 4.
Righteous Authority is an unique laser rifle in Fallout 4, that comes equipped with the Lucky modifier. This perk will boost all of your critical damage from this weapon by double. Moreover, it will also fill your critical meter 15% faster.

How to Get Righteous Authority in Fallout 4
To get Righteous Authority in Fallout 4 you need to complete the Call to Arms quest by assisting Brotherhood of Steel officer Paladin Danse. You pick up this quest at the Cambridge Police Station, which is north and a little west of Diamond City Market. After initially assisting the Brotherhood of Steel in fending off an attack by feral ghouls, speak to Paladin Danse to automatically receive this quest.
Paladin Danse will accompany you through out the entirety of this Call to Arms, and he will be the one to reward you with Righteous Authority once it is completed.
Steps to Find Righteous Authority during Call to Arms quest in Fallout 4:
- Speak to Paladin Danse at the Cambridge Police Station and agree to help him.
- Follow him to ArcJet Systems (or meet up with him there later), which is on the eastern side of the map.
- Choosing to meet him there later will cause you to miss some triggered events which happen along the way.
- Enter and explore the interior of the ArcJet Systems building.
- Inside the Lab Analysis room either pass an Advanced Difficulty check to hack into the computer terminal or use the the lab analyst’s terminal to find the password.
- Hack the facilities terminal in the nearby maintenance area to restore power to the elevator.
- Defeat the synths by pressing the Engine Start button to activate the Engine Core’s rocket.
- Take the elevator down, defeat more synths, and locate the Deep Range Transmitter.
- Leave the building and speak to Paladin Danse to receive the Righteous Authority.

How to use Righteous Authority?
In Fallout 4, Righteous Authority is a gun best paired with other Luck based perks such as Critical Banker and Improved Critical. It’s a laser weapon but rifleman can also increase the overall damage of the weapon by changing the grip.
However, to fully mod this weapon you will need to heavily invest into Science and Gun Nut. But it’s well worth it because of the damage and ammunition available. We recommend going with the marksman stock and sniper barrel. This will make Righteous Authority an incredible sniper rifle you can use through out the game until you find the Gauss Rifle at higher levels.
