Crucible Bug Turns into a Feature in Season of the Wish

In Season of the Witch, Destiny 2 released a new Crucible PvP map, Multiplex. It wasn’t long after its release that players discovered that you could do something on that particular map that shouldn’t happen. Guardians could summon their Sparrow. Soon players were using this bug to zip around the map using their vehicles to run over allies and enemies alike.

While some players found this bug annoying or game-breaking, others kind of enjoyed the fun of being able to use their Sparrow in PvP. Bungie decided to forego fixing the bug for now, but they are going a step further in Season of the Wish. They are making a whole new Crucible mode: Sparrow Control. This is going to be added to their new 6v6 Quickplay node. Destiny 2 turned a bug into a feature.

One of the rotating Control modes is Sparrow Control. It’s Control, but with Sparrows—the bug become feature! We hope you’ll enjoy it on select weeks of Season 23. Keep an eye out for a unique medal that will only be attainable during those weeks. This mode’s playlist maps will be curated and weighted towards larger maps.

THIS WEEK IN DESTINY – 11/09/2023

Additionally, this is just one game mode introduced in Season of the Wish as part of the PvP revamp in Destiny 2. The Crucible Strike Team is releasing this along with several other new game modes and reward changes in Season of the Wish.

New Features Coming to Destiny 2 PvP

The Destiny 2 Development Team announced several other sweeping changes coming to PvP. This includes several new game modes, playlists, and reward structures. These changes range from the mundane to the game-changing. And there are so many new features being added this list is just a small selection of everything that is coming to Destiny 2 PvP in Season of the Wish:

  • New PvP Playlist Nodes
  • New PvP Game Modes
  • Matchmaking Changes
  • Reward Changes

As stated, these are just some of the announced changes coming in Season of Wish. And while it is not coming next season (at least as far as we know), a new Crucible map pack is also in the works. New maps are something the Destiny 2 community has been asking about for a long while. All of these changes along with Bungie adding this new game mode (one that started as a bug not less) shows that the Destiny 2 Crucible Strike Team is putting in work.
