Patch 5

There has been no official news yet on what changes Patch 5 might bring or when it will be released. Larian Studios has been reluctant to commit to any specific update schedule or calendar. From a developer perspective, this makes sense and allows them to take whatever time is necessary to make sure the new changes are working properly. It can make some impatient fans anxious, however, not knowing what updates are coming when!

The first couple of patches arrived just a week apart from each other in August, as Larian worked hard to fix as many bugs as they could before the PlayStation release in early September. Following that, the cadence slowed. Patch 3 was released on September 21 and Patch 4 was released on November 2. The space between patches 3 and 4 is probably a better indicator for future updates. This is pure speculation, but, likely, we won’t see Patch 5 until mid-December.

Potential Patch 5 Content

Just a couple of weeks ago, Patch 4 came with a wealth of major updates to the game, including hireling customizations, accessibility options, and over 1,000 bug fixes. What might a Patch 5 include? One of the biggest complaints about the game is a very difficult inventory management system. Those rumblings continue and many fans would love to see changes that would allow you to view/access all of your items across all party members and the traveler’s chest.

Party management is also a thorn in some player’s sides, as well. Being able to change out party members without having to do the ‘dialogue dance’ around your camp would streamline the process.

There has also still not been any further word on major additions or updates to the ending or epilogues. Larian is supposedly working on fleshing these out more, and a Patch 5 which drops after the Xbox launch of the game would be a fantastic way for the developer to potentially end the year!

For Honour Mode

Another type of update many Baldur’s Gate 3 players would like to see is the addition of another difficulty setting beyond Tactician, and a recent discovery suggests that at least a variation of this

As of the date of this article, Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t have an official Lone Wolf or Honour Mode. No official word from the developers has indicated this. However, indications from the GOG release of Baldur’s Gate 3 mention an Honour Mode in the achievements section. Found by Reddit user W0lferino93, the Foehammer achievement may signal future implementation of this difficulty mode. This is a hardcore way to experience Baldur’s Gate 3, and we will update this guide if Honour Mode or Lone Wolf is added to the game.

What will we see during this unveiling of the future of Baldur’s Gate 3? Will BG3 win Game of the Year? Make sure you tune in on December 7th on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Live, and Steam.
