This guide gives weapons, exotics, and armor mods for a Destiny 2 Arc Titan PvP Build, intended for PvP players!
Updated June 19, 2024: Destiny 2: The Final Shape and Update 8.0.0.1 has many crucial changes. The new expansion brings a new subclass, Salvation’s Edge raid, with new weapons and gear, a power level increase, new exotic gear, and – never seen before – exotic class items. Also, the new base game update includes many class and weapon balance changes that influenced the Destiny 2 builds and meta.
Why Should You Play Arc Titan in PvP?
Arc Titan in PvP has good survivability, and as a result, you can play close-range battles. However, remember about positioning and always try to be aware of your surroundings, because no armor or build will make you unkillable. You can still survive much more than other classes and subclasses. If you enjoy the power fantasy of running up into your enemy’s face and taking them out with your bare hands, this is the build for you.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Beginner Friendly | Aggressive Playstyle Required |
Good Survivability | Poor Long Range |
Great Short Range |
Arc Titan PvP Playstyle
This build just utilizes over shields and the speed of Arc subclasses to run up into your enemy’s faces and destroy them. As you run up, slide, shoot, and then melee all in quick succession. This will often outright kill an enemy. And with enough practice you can recover to kill another enemy as well quickly.
Abilities
Some abilities, aspects, and fragments need to be unlocked before use. To do that, Destiny 2 players need to visit Ikora in the Tower and do the related quest or purchase them from her. Lastly, if you bought new aspects and fragments, don’t forget to “meditate”. Click the “meditate” option on the table next to Ikora.
Thundercrash – Very powerful super that is very effective. Essentially a free kill.
Thruster – Ability uptime is key for this build, so thruster is a better choice to keep Juggernaut up more often.
Catapult Lift – This really comes down to personal preference, so feel free to flex another lift if you prefer it.
Pulse Grenade – An easy to use control grenade. Storm grenades are also effective.
Seismic Strike – While you are amplified, the blind radius is increased. A powerful, fast melee. A required choice for this build.
Aspects
Juggernaut – Overshields in PvP are very powerful and this one is granted just for sprinting.
Knockout – Pairs excellently with any hyper aggressive build.
Fragments
Spark of Resistance : Mostly used for the buff to Strength.
Spark of Haste : Getting buffs for sprinting is an easy choice considering sprinting is going to be done a lot with this build.
Spark of Feedback : Gives a huge advantage in a melee fight.
Spark of Frequency : Will help out in a pinch to reload your weapons considering you will be in the thick of it often.
Weapons for Arc Titan PvP Build
The best weapon combination with the Arc Titan PvP Build is an Igneous Hammer and Conditional Finality. Since these provide the best utility for both good close-range and mid-range engagements. Also, Hand Cannon and Shotgun is one of the highest skill gap weapon combinations and is often preferred by veteran players or those participating in high levels of PVP content.
Weapon Combinations
Below are some additional weapon combinations for our Arc Titan PvP Build:
- Hand Cannon & Fusion Rifle – Best for good aimers
- Submachine Gun & Sniper Rifle – Best for aggressive players
- Pulse Rifle and Shotgun – Best for passive players
If you wish to run a different weapon combination, we highly recommend at least running a primary ammo weapon and a special ammo weapon. Running two special weapons will limit your ammo and is not functional. Even though utilizing two primary weapons is doable, you will be at a massive disadvantage due to the strength of special ammo weapons.
Hand Cannon & Fusion Rifle
While not as iconic as the hand cannon and shotgun meta that ruled Destiny 2 for many years, the hand cannon and fusion rifle combo is lethal. You benefit from mid-range engagements with your hand cannon and close-range bursts with your fusion rifle. This combination is potent for guardians who like the high skill gap of hand cannons, and it provides an easier-to-use special weapon with the Fusion Rifle.
Submachine Gun & Sniper Rifle
With close-range and long-range engagements taken care of with this pairing, however, playing very aggressively with this combination is recommended. With a submachine gun, you are lethal at close ranges, allowing you to contest most weapons within short range. A sniper rifle lets you clear a lane and push up towards your enemies.
Pulse Rifle & Shotgun
This pairing allows for both long-range and close-range to be secured. Pulse Rifles can out-range most hand cannons while providing a very easy-to-use weapon, so they work well with more passive players. Shotguns provide one-shot potential when getting rushed by enemy players that push your position.
Exotic Armor
Antaeus Wards – Obtained from Exotic Engrams. Gives us a second overshield which is very powerful with a build that requires charging into the fray.
Dunemarchers – Obtained from Exotic Engrams. A more offensive option than the Wards. It sacrifices survivability for the potential to take out multiple enemies at once.
Armor Stats
The best stats to focus on in our Arc Titan PvP Build are Strength, Resilience, and Recovery. Since these provide us with survivability, they reduce our class ability and super cooldowns.
- Mobility: 30
- Resilience: 100
- Recovery: 50
- Disciple: 50
- Intellect: 50
- Strength: 100
