Learn how Weapons and their skills influence the conventional class system in Throne and Liberty.

Throne and Liberty - All Weapons and Classes Thumb

Does Throne and Liberty has a Class system, and how does it work?

In Throne and Liberty, the developers have chosen to depart from the traditional character class system, allowing players to independently choose their roles based on the situation. This is achieved by changing the character’s weapon. The Free Class system enables players to micromanage the finer aspects of combat at a micro level, creating numerous weapon combinations.

Players are free to select any two weapons they desire and use them to access a variety of abilities. This grants a high level of flexibility and customization in terms of playstyle, as players can mix and match different weapon combinations to suit their preferences. However, it’s important to note that each weapon will likely need to be leveled up individually to unlock more powerful skill sets, giving the class system and your character a sense of progression and development expected from an MMORPG like Throne and Liberty.

In Throne and Liberty, player roles are determined by the weapons they choose. Instead of being confined to a predetermined class set by the game, players can switch weapons at any time to adapt to the situation.

Two types of weapons can be combined, and switching between them allows players to maximize their strengths and devise strategies to target and cover potential weaknesses. Each weapon type also offers defensive actions to protect players during critical moments, provided their timing is accurate.

Through various features, players can micromanage the subtler aspects of combat. Linking skill sets from different weapons enables players to experience the satisfaction of combining and configuring them, forming the foundation of the Free Class system Throne and Liberty is proud of.

All Weapons in Throne and Liberty

In Throne and Liberty, players can combine all weapons to create their playstyle. There are seven weapons to choose from. This type of mechanic replaced traditional MMO RPG classes, giving more freedom. As a result, your class/playstyle skills are defined by the weapon you use.

Here are all the available weapons in Throne and Liberty:

  • Dual Daggers
  • Crossbow
  • Longbow
  • Greatsword
  • Magical Staff
  • Sword and Shield
  • Wand and Tome

Daggers

  • Playstyle: Melee, High Critical Damage, Great Mobility and Speed
  • Best Weapon Combination: Longbow, Greatsword or Crossbow
Throne and Liberty Dual Daggers Weapon Gameplay and Class Playstyle

The Dagger in Throne and Liberty is a melee weapon type that provides skills with high burst damage, making it the perfect choice for players looking to create an assassin class character. The Dagger playstyle is centered around increasing critical chance, positioning the weapon to the side or rear of the target for extra damage, and delivering multiple hits in rapid succession.

One of the dagger’s key advantages is its speed and agility. It is a lightweight weapon that allows for quick and nimble movements, making it easier to dodge attacks and close in on enemies. The Dagger is also an excellent choice of weapon for Rogue players in MMORPGs. It is versatile enough to be used in a variety of situations, from sneaking around undetected to engaging in close combat.

Crossbow

  • Playstyle: Ranged, Good Single Target DPS, Versatile
  • Best Weapon Combination: Daggers or Wand

In Throne and Liberty, Crossbow is a ranged weapon known for its high single-target damage skills and debuff potential, making it a popular choice among players who prefer a class with a more precise and tactical approach. It is particularly useful when fighting bosses or other high-value targets that require focused damage.

While the Crossbow lacks AOE (Area of Effect) damage, it more than makes up for it with its versatility.

Longbow

  • Playstyle: Ranged, High Damage, Self-Healing, Easy to play
  • Best Weapon Combination: Daggers or Staff

The Longbow is considered one of the best weapons for any class or playstyle in Throne and Liberty due to its high damage output, optimized off-hand usage, skills, and exceptional range. Combining it with a Dagger or Staff can result in the highest possible DPS, whether you are targeting a single enemy or multiple ones. In addition, you can use the Longbow in PvP battles by equipping a Wand as an offhand weapon. This setup can provide crowd control and healing abilities, making it a great weapon. Overall, the Longbow is the most effective primary weapon in the game.

Greatsword

  • Playstyle: Melee, AoE Damage, Great Crowd Control
  • Best Weapon Combination: Sword and shield or Daggers

The Greatsword is widely considered to be the most powerful melee weapon. It is especially useful for tank players who seek to maximize their damage output and is also a great choice for PvP combat due to its crowd-control abilities.

If you prefer playing characters whose skills resemble a melee damage dealer class MMORPGs, then the Greatsword is the perfect main-hand weapon for you in Throne and Liberty.

Staff

  • Playstyle: Long Range, Good AoE Damage
  • Best Weapon Combination: Longbow, Dagger or Wand and Tome
Throne and Liberty Staff Weapon Gameplay and Class Playstyle

In Throne and Liberty, the Staff is the weapon for the class, with skills focusing on the area-based damage role. The Staff is a weapon that excels at clearing out weaker enemies and is particularly useful for power leveling. It is a versatile weapon that can be used in different ways depending on the situation. When it comes to high-pressure single-target damage, however, the Staff falls short. In other words, it is more effective as a supporting weapon to complement another primary weapon. Nevertheless, its damage capabilities make it a valuable weapon in many situations.

Sword and Shield

  • Playstyle: Melee, Survivability, Support
  • Best Weapon Combination: Greatsword, Wand, or Longbow

The Sword and Shield weapon is a great choice for players who prioritize survivability above all else. While you may not deal much damage, you have the best survivability in both Throne and Liberty. In both PvE and PvP, every group wants to bring a tank, but often no one wants to play it due to the weak overall damage. This is a primary setup for tank classes in other games, and these weapon skills resemble the heavy warrior playstyle in Throne and Liberty.

Wand and Tome

  • Playstyle: Range, Support, Good for Solo Play
  • Best Weapon Combination: Staff or Sword and Shield
Throne and Liberty Wand and Tome Weapon Gameplay and Class Playstyle

In Throne and Liberty, the Wand and Tome weapon is considered the best choice for solo players or healer classes because of its skills to provide both healing and crowd control. It’s the primary weapon for support roles in groups, but even PvPers and solo players can use it as an off-hand weapon to increase their survivability. However, the weapon’s focus on support and lack of damage are its primary drawbacks.
