Destiny 2 Unending Tempest Submachine Gun
Unending Tempest Submachine Gun

The Unending Tempest is a Precision Frame Stasis Submachine Gun introduced in Season of the Witch that can be obtained from any Crucible playlist. Submachine guns, or SMGs, are incredibly strong in the game for both PVE and PVP kill potential. They have great ad clear with high fire rates and decent-sized mags making them pump out a large amount of bullets in a short time.

Why You Should Get the Unending Tempest Submachine Gun?

You should get the Unending Tempest because it is an easy to obtain weapon with a decent perk pool. It lacks any super powerful perk combinations, but it does have a large perk pool with several decent options. Here’s our list of why you should get Unending Tempest Submachine Gun:

  • Easy to obtain
  • Decent perk pool

How to Obtain the Unending Tempest in Destiny 2

Unending Tempest can be obtained from any Crucible reward source. This includes end of match rewards in any Crucible Playlist (including Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris), Lord Shaxx’s Weekly Challenge, and turning in Crucible Engrams. Once the weapon has been earned you can focus it at Lord Shaxx for Crucible Engrams, Glimmer, and Legendary Shards.

Unending Tempest PvE God Roll

Our choices for the Unending Tempest PvE God Roll are:

ColumnTrait
BarrelHammer-Forged Rifling
MagazineTactical Mag
Column 3 TraitSubsistence
Column 4 TraitFrenzy
MasterworkRange

The Unending Tempest has a lot of decent options for PvE but nothing especially groundbreaking. Its stats are decent, so honestly any barrel or magazine perk here is useful. Extend Mag is best avoided but other than that there aren’t any wrong options. For its masterwork, you can either build into its strength by adding more range or fix its weakness by giving it reload speed or handling.

As a rapid-fire primary weapon, the old combo of Subsistence and Frenzy is still a great choice. Don’t feel locked into it however as a Demolitionist and Adrenaline Junkie combo would also be fun with this weapon. The new perk Enlightened Action has some potential fixing this weapons weakness, but we don’t know the specifics on the numbers yet.

While not the best submachine gun option in the game, it can compete and its ease of acquirement makes it a decent option. Don’t go out of your way to farm this one though.

Other great Submachine Guns to substitute for this weapon in PvE include:

  • Calus Mini-Tool, from the Presage Exotic Mission Rotator
  • Ikelos_SMG_V1.0.3, from the Seraph Shield Exotic Mission Rotator
  • Unforgiven, from the Duality dungeon

Unending Tempest PvP God Roll

Our choices for the Unending Tempest PvP God Roll are:

ColumnTrait
BarrelHammer-Forged Rifling
MagazineAccurized Rounds
Column 3 TraitDynamic Sway Recuction
Column 4 TraitTarget Lock
MasterworkRange

The Unending Tempest actually has quite a few good perk options for PvP. While it won’t be the next Immortal, its still a decent option now with Rangefinders nerf. For our barrel and magazine perks, its per usual all about increasing our range. Its the same story when it comes to our masterwork option.

For our major perks, there are a lot of great options. Dynamic Sway Reduction is probably best, but you can’t go wrong with Moving Target or Perpetual Motion. For Column 4, Target Lock is still a great, forgiving perk that works well in all situations. Collective Action and Multi-Kill Clip are also okay choices, but aren’t as good as they use to be.

While still not worth grinding because of the large perk pool, this weapon seems much better suited for PvP rather than PvE. Now that the Immortal’s throne is no longer unchallengeable, this thing may be worth a shot.

Other great Submachine Guns to substitute for this weapon in PvP include:

  • The Immortal, from Trials of Osiris
  • No Survivors, from the Ghost of the Deep dungeon
  • Rapacious Appetite, from the Season of the Deep
