007 First Light, the upcoming James Bond game from IO Interactive, finally has a confirmed release date. The game was announced back in 2021, with a brief teaser. However, fans had to wait until 2024 to get a proper look at First Light’s gameplay and cinematics. IOI is best known for their Hitman games, offering a vast stealth sandbox with an increased focus on player freedom and creativity.
However, with First Light, IOI is trying to deviate a bit, going for a more “on-the-rails” cinematic-action style of gameplay. While 007 First Light does retain a few signature gameplay ideas from the modern Hitman Trilogy, it’s not a stealth sandbox. It’s more akin to the Uncharted games than Hitman, which makes perfect sense considering the James Bond IP.

007 First Light Release Date and Platforms
007 First Light is scheduled to be released on March 27, 2026. The game is coming to all current-generation platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Surprisingly enough, the game is also releasing on the Nintendo Switch 2, the same day as other platforms. Furthermore, the Switch 2 version will have complete feature parity with other platforms, albeit with some limitations.
It should be noted that if you pre-order the game, you will get 24-hour early access to the game. This means that you can start playing First Light from March 26, 2026, granted you’ve pre-purchased a copy.
007 First Light Editions and Price
Unlike IO Interactive’s previous games, 007 First Light only has a Standard Edition available ahead of its launch. However, IO Interactive has plans to add a “Deluxe Edition” once the game has been released.
