Battlemage Build for Enshrouded Game

Updated: Those builds were created during Early Access of Enshrouded for Patch #3 and will be updated upon full release and following patches. During Early Access, Keen Games Studio often introduces new updates and adjustments to skills and gameplay mechanics to prepare Enshrouded for full release. The Patch #3 added a new craftsperson, a new quest, and, most importantly, a new dungeon. The new dungeon, the Hollows, comes with new legendary gear, puzzles, enemies, and trophies you can hang in your house. There are four hollows, each with higher-level enemies and difficulty with the Kindlewaste dungeon scaling to level 25, with level 30 gear. This is now the best legendary gear in the game, and our builds will be changed to reflect this.

Battlemage Build Guide

The Battlemage Build in Enshrouded focuses on highly survivable spellcasters using a combination of weapons and armor. What makes the Battlemage unique is its powerful self-healing, damage reduction, and group play. You won’t be doing as much damage as a Wizard, but you will have great survivability, and it is recommended for newer players.

This Battlemage build will emphasize range combat, crowd control stuns, and passive healing based on intelligence. Our build was created at level 25, currently the maximum level for Enshrouded Early Access. Below is a list of the best Battlemage Build pros and cons in Enshrouded.

Battlemage Build Features & Mechanics

Battlemage Build in Enshrouded

The following list presents all the features and mechanics for Enshrouded Battlemage Build:

  • Primary Attribute: Intelligence
  • Secondary Attribute: Constitution
  • Primary Weapon: Wand with Shield
  • Secondary Weapon: Sword with Shield
  • Ranged Weapon: Staff with Firebolt Charge
  • Best Armor: Warden and Archmage or Warlock
  • Best Skills: Water Aura, Wand Master, Blink, and Eath Aura.
  • Best Consumable: Glow Soup Spice, Meat Wrap, and Boiled Eggs.

Weapon Choices

The primary weapon for damage with this build is a Wand. The Battlemage skill line increases damage overall for wands. In addition, wands can be combined with Shields. The Staff will be your ranged weapon with the most damage potential. The downside of the staff is it takes a long charge-up time and cannot be combined with a shield. Ideally, you will unload with a Staff and charges and then swap to a Wand when melee aggressors come close. Additionally, Wands can refill mana with passive skills, so swap when out and simply attack.

The last weapon is a one-handed sword with a shield. This is useful due to the skill Evasion Attack, which lunges forward and acts as a gap closer. A unique combination if using Evasion Attack, then swapping to a blank slot on your bar, and using unarmed attack once you have the Begone! skill. This will charge in, swap quickly, and stun a target with mana. Incredibly useful when playing against high-damage dealers.

Charges

Staff Charges Enshrouded

Charges are used as one-time consumable spells used by staff. However, you can obtain eternal charges, which do more damage than base charges. Eternal charges can be obtained through a quest, which gives you Ice Bolt. You can advance your Alchemist progression to unlock more crafting recipes from this point. Additionally, eternal charges will cost more mana and time but will deal more damage. These make a perfect solution to one of the staff’s main issues: non-reusable ammunition. Here are the charges available in Enshrouded:

  • Chain Heal â€“ meant for group play, going from player to player, bouncing around vs channeling.
  • Heal Channel – a single–target healing where you can hold the spell down to fill up health. It can also be used for healing the self.
  • Eternal Fireball – fire area-based damage spell, higher cast time and mana than fireballs 1 and 2.
  • Eternal Ice Bolt – The earliest one available can complete the quest is An Eternal Spell, given by the Alchemist, found in the buried tomb.
  • Eternal Light Burst – area light spell for utility while exploring. This does small damage with low cast time and mana.
  • Eternal Acid Bite – strongest overall, massive cast time and mana, tooltip looks deceptive, but it does damage over time, not just instant. This spell is in a cone in front of the caster, doing damage roughly over 3 seconds.

Resource Orbs

How to Spawn Resources Orbs in Enshrouded

When restoring resources, Enshrouded features a mechanic of spawning orbs. These orbs replenish 10% of respective resources and appear very small on the screen. This Battlemage Build features a passive called Bloodletting, which triggers orbs on critical hits. Thus, you can use your wand or staff and feed resources to yourself or others in multiplayer.

Mobility

Best Movement Skills in Enshrouded Game

Two skills are necessary for maximum mobility in Enshrouded, Evasion Attack and Blink. Blink creates explicitly a large distance of space and can be used to move towards or away from enemies. On the other hand, Evasion Attack requires a melee weapon and dashes forward. The strength of Blink is the Emergency Blink sub-skill in the healer skill line. This allows you to use blink while stunned.

Many animals and creatures at the higher levels of the game can stun you. This will cause you to stand still for a few seconds and likely result in your death. Consider Blink and its secondary skill important for any Battlemage in Enshrouded.

Survivability and Group Play

Passive Healing Groups in Enshrouded Game

Water Aura and Waters of Life are the best overall survivability and group play skills. Combining these two skills with high intelligence will give you passive healing per second. When fully buffed with food and consumables, this Battlemage can reach 21 Intellgence. That will produce 60 healing per second in a massive 15-meter radius. This skill is highly recommended due to its helpfulness in survival, which will eliminate the need for potions almost entirely.

Best Battlemage Attributes & Combat Stats

Battlemage Stats Attributes in Enshrouded

The most important attribute for the Battlemage is Intelligence due to the scaling of Water Aura passive healing and magic damage. You also want to increase the critical chance to trigger more orbs. When it comes to gear and armor, you gain most of your increases in damage from the head, gloves, and rings. Your weapons typically increase your critical chance in combination with skills.

Constitution is the secondary skill that increases our health. A massive health pool makes the game more forgiving if you make a mistake. Additionally, your Flame Altar level will increase your attribute bonus. This is a priority for improving your Enshrouded Battlemage build power level.

  • Wand Master & Sting – One skill triggers additional attacks while the other increases damage for repeated attacks. These two make a powerful combination for the Wand drastically increasing damage.

Battlemage Gameplay & Tips

Opening Attack: Your opening attack should be the Staff with eternal charge to provide burst damage. When you run out of mana or enemies close distance, swap to your wand. From this point, use your wand and block incoming attacks.

Survival: After level 10, you should have massive passive healing with Water Aura. Thus, you need to increase your intelligence with food and gear. Also, bring bandages, health regeneration food, and potions for emergencies.

Resources: You sustain resources through magic weapon kills and critical strikes. Your wand skills will return mana on random attacks, which can feed your staff spells. Stamina can be gained through orbs, while health will come from Water aura, health regeneration, and potions.

Progression: This build will start slowly, taking the double jump skill and then water aura. However, you will gain many skills to aid in damage while maintaining powerful survivability. If you feel the start is slow, wait for the double jump and associated skills until level 10.
