Discover everything you need to know in our Complete Guide List Transformation Skills and Talents for Black Myth: Wukong!
In Black Myth: Wukong, you can progress and strengthen your character build by unlocking new spells and abilities, and then further refine those skills by unlocking Talents. Talents are passive boosts to your active spells that you can unlock with Spark Points.
Furthermore, you can get Spark Points over time by defeating enemies. When you defeat an enemy you will be granted Willpower. Then, after your Willpower bar fills up, you will get a Spark Point.
Finally, you can respec your Spark Points at any time during the game. This freedom will facilitate combat strategy and allow you to modify your build to take advantage of boss weaknesses or combat style.
All Transformation Skills and Talents – Black Myth: Wukong
There are a total of 10 Transformation talents available to unlock in Black Myth: Wukong, each providing a different type of passive boost. Four of the Transformation talents are individually linked to specific spells. Red Tides, Azure Dust, Hoarfrost, and Umbral Abyss each have their own passive talent that you can unlock and level.
Therefore, with these four you will want to prioritize leveling the talents of the spell you need the most or like using the best. The other six Transformation talents are not tied to any one spell and can benefit your overall build in general ways.
Below are all the Transformation Skills and Talents:
- Moon Roam (Red Tides)
- Steadfast (Azure Dust)
- Snow Veil (Hoarfrost)
- Red Eyes (Umbral Abyss)
- Evergreen
- Might Fortification
- Hidden Might
- Ferocious Form
- Enduring Form
- Might Reserve
Moon Roam (Red Tides)
- Talent Name: Moon Roam
- Spell Specific: Red Tides
- Description: Each talent level moderately increases the Damage of the next attack after a Perfect Dodge.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost: 1
The Moon Roam talent is specifically tied to the Red Tides spell. Red Tides gives you the ability to transform into a wolf guai, and inflict Scorch Bane on the enemy with each attack. Light Attacks with this spell have you continuously slash at the enemy, with each hit building up Focus.
Additionally, Heavy Attacks unleash a series of dash attacks. Furthermore, when you are at full Focus, dodging in any direction and following it with a Heavy Attack performs a powerful new move.
Therefore, unlocking and leveling Moon Roam will allow your Heavy Attacks to hit harder after you execute a Perfect Dodge while at full Focus. This may be a combination that is difficult to execute but can generate a very powerful blow when fully leveled.
Steadfast (Azure Dust)
- Talent Name: Steadfast
- Spell Specific: Azure Dust
- Description: Each talent level moderately increases Defense.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost: 2
Steadfast is a Transformation talent that specifically boosts the Azure Dust spell. Using the Azure Dust spell turns you into a rock guai, and while in this form you are immune to all Four Banes. Furthermore, you build up Might whenever you are hit by enemies.
Consequently, the Azure Dust spell is best suited to a more defensive playstyle. Leveling up the Steadfast talent will increase your defense, likely meaning that you can take more hits. Therefore, building more Might.
Snow Veil (Hoarfrost)
- Talent Name: Snow Veil
- Spell Specific: Hoarfrost
- Description: Each talent level slightly increases Frost Damage.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost: 1
The Snow Veil talent is specifically tied to the Hoarfrost spell. Hoarfrost will transform you into the Monk from the Sea and give you additional tentacles to strike at your enemy from a distance. Furthermore, with this spell, your attacks will inflict Frost Bane on your enemies.
This synergizes very well with Snow Veil, which will slightly increase your Frost Damage with each level you unlock. Therefore, not only will your attacks inflict the debuff, but since you are hitting enemies with frost attacks this will increase your Frost Damage even more. Overall, this is an offensive-focused transformation and will be riskier than a transformation built for defense or suvivability.
Red Eyes (Umbral Abyss)
- Talent Name: Red Eyes
- Spell Specific: Umbral Abyss
- Description: Upon defeating an enemy, slightly increases Attack for a long duration. This effect can stack up to 20 times.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost: 2
Red Eyes is a Transformation talent that specifically boosts the Umbral Abyss spell. Moreover, this is also an ability that is frost-based, and also has the potential to deal more damage overall than Hoarfrost. Using Umbral Abyss will transform you into the Macaque Chief, which is immune to Frost. Additionally, your attacks will deal Frost Bane.
While in this form, both Light and Heavy Attacks will hit multiple times, both culminating in powerful final slashes. Furthermore, it also has a unique spell Cold Heart that empowers your blade slashes. Therefore, if you can unlock levels of Red Eye this will boost your overall damage even further. The downside to this talent is that the extra damage is only triggered when you defeat an enemy. Consequently, you won’t see any benefit from it when fighting single-target bosses.
Evergreen
- Talent Name: Evergreen
- Spell Specific: No
- Description: Each talent level slightly reduces the Might decay while transformed.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost: 1
Evergreen is the first Transformation talent that is not tied to a specific spell. Unlocking this talent will give you a slight reduction in Might decay while you are in any transformation. Might is the resource that allows you to transform and you must build the gauge up to full before you can initiate a transformation. It will then steadily decrease the longer you stay in that form. Therefore, unlocking and leveling the Evergreen talent will let you stay in your chosen form for longer.
Additionally, this will likely be especially useful if you are primarily using the Azure Dust spell. While you are in the rock guai form, you will build up Might any time you are hit by an enemy. Therefore, unlocking the Evergreen talent in conjunction with using the Azure Dust form, will help to keep you in the form for much longer.
Might Fortification
- Talent Name: Might Fortification
- Spell Specific: No
- Description: Each talent level slightly increases Might recovery speed.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost:
Next in the Black Myth: Wukong – Complete Guide List Transformation Skills and Talents article is Might Fortification, which increases your Might recovery speed. You must have a full Might gauge before you can initiate a transformation, and you will automatically de-transform when the bar is fully depleted. Afterward, you must wait until the bar has been refilled before you can transform again.
Consequently, unlocking Might Fortification will shorten the time you have to wait between transformations. You won’t see much of a difference at first, but with each level unlocked the Might recovery speed with further increase.
Hidden Might
- Talent Name: Hidden Might
- Spell Specific: No
- Description: Each talent level slightly increases Maximum Might.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost: 1
Hidden Might is yet again another Transformation talent that focuses on your Might resource and helps you extend the duration of your transformations. This talent does that by increasing your total Maximum Might. This means your Might gauge will be larger, and you can stay in your form for longer.
However, the downside to this is that once your Might bar is depleted, it will take longer to refill. Therefore, if you are going to unlock multiple levels of Hidden Might, you should probably also increase the Might Fortification talent, as well. That will increase your Might recovery speed and help you return to your desired form faster.
Ferocious Form
- Talent Name: Ferocious Form
- Spell Specific: No
- Description: Each talent level slightly increases Attack while Transformed.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost: 2
The Ferocious Form talent applies a straightforward boost to your Attacks while transformed. This bonus will apply to all different types of transformations and is not limited to one specific form. Additionally, this can be upgraded six different times. Therefore, even though each single increase is slight, when stacked together this can really increase your DPS.
Enduring Form
- Talent Name: Enduring Form
- Spell Specific: No
- Description: Each talent level slightly increases Maximum Health while transformed.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost: 2
Next in the Black Myth: Wukong – Complete Guide List Transformation Skills and Talents article is Enduring Form, which will increase your Maximum Health. This talent is something you should prioritize if you are having trouble with survivability. Even if fights take longer because you aren’t doing as much damage, if you can stay alive for longer then it’s a victory all the same.
Might Reserve
- Talent Name: Might Reserve
- Spell Specific: No
- Description: Each talent level slightly increases the Might retained from De-Transforming.
- Type: Passive
- Sparks Cost: 2
The final Transformation talent you can choose from in Black Myth: Wukong is called Might Reserve. Unlocking this talent will increase the Might you retain after De-Transforming. Might Reserve will likely only come into play when you choose to de-transform, rather than when the Might gauge completely runs out. If you choose to de-transform, you will have to wait until your Might gauged has completely refilled before you can transform again.
Therefore, leveling up Might Reserve will allow you to de-transform with less of a penalty. The usefulness of this talent is likely situational depending on your own playstyle and the mechanics of the boss you are fighting.
