If you are new to Grounded 2, here are some beginner tips to help you survive and be more effective on your adventure.
Starting out in Grounded 2 can be a bit overwhelming. The sequel has expanded the backyard‑survival formula into a sprawling suburban park rife with new dangers to look out for. On top of that, there are new tools at your disposal, like the Omni-Tool or mounts called Buggies. Needless to say, if this is your first game of the series, you might get confused about what to do.
To help you out, here are some beginner tips for Grounded 2. These should help you establish a solid foundation and make progress more effectively in the game.

Best Beginner Tips for Grounded 2
1) Follow the Story Questline Early
The first thing you should be doing is making progress in the game’s storyline. The early sections serve as a tutorial that should teach you the basics. Additionally, completing missions will allow you to unlock very important tools. This includes the Resource Scanner, Omni‑Shovel, and your first Red Ant Soldier egg for unlocking your Buggy ant mount.
2) Use the Resource Analyzer Often
The game rewards you for being curious and learning about everything you see in the game. Always use your Resource Analyzer when you spot a new item to earn Raw Science points and unlock more crafting recipes and upgrades.
3) Craft Armor & Weapons ASAP
The open world of Grounded 2 can be unforgiving at times. This is why you must craft or upgrade your armor and weapons whenever you can. On top of that, some armors make certain hostile enemies neutral towards you. A good example is the Red Ant Armor that causes Red Soldier Ants to ignore you until you attack them or steal their eggs.

4) Prioritize Mounting a Buggy
A mount is very important if you want to travel fast and carry more resources in the game. This is why you should follow the story missions and get your first Red Ant egg. Once you have this item, you can then tame a buggy mount, which speeds up traveling and has extra storage capacity.
5) Stay Supplied with Food and Water
Grounded 2 is a survival game. This is why food and water are just as important as building a shelter and some gear. Dewdrops on grass blades provide clean drinking water early on. To cook meat, build a Roasting Spit or drying rack for jerky. A Canteen is essential, crafted once you’ve scanned Grub Hide.

6) Build Lean-Tos and Storage Early
Once you have set up a base of operations, you then need to prioritize crafting a Lean-To. This allows you to sleep during nighttime and skip most of the dangerous parts of the game. Additionally, it also marks your spawn point so you immediately return to your base if things go sideways.
Once you have a resting area, craft some storage chests. This is important so you have enough space if you like to hoard a ton of resources.
7) Master Blocking and Parrying
You can’t avoid combat in Grounded 2. This is why you need to be prepared and learn the basics of blocking and parrying enemy attacks. This is crucial as it allows you to negate damage and strike back at enemies. A perfect parry can also stun enemies, which gives you even more time to retaliate.
If you want to practice your parrying enemies, find weaker targets like Lawn Mites. This reduces the risk of you dying from their attacks if you miss out on the timings.
8) Place Blueprints to Free Inventory Space
If you don’t have enough storage chests just yet, you can use the blueprints to free up some space. Simply place the blueprint on the ground and submit the materials needed to build it. This should remove the crafting materials from your inventory, so you have extra space to gather more.

9) Unlock and Use Mutations & Milk Molars
Collect Milk Molars to add mutation slots and boost stats. Mutations activate as you perform repeated actions like blocking and bow usage, which significantly impact stamina and combat efficiency
10) Gather Key Early Resources Intelligently
Chop down dandelions for weed stems using the basic axe. For acorn parts, head to the ridge or oak roots, but be prepared for spider threats, save beforehand to re-farm respawning acorns. These materials are very important. You will be needing them from the early to the later stages of your playthrough. If you get the chance, definitely grab these resources.
