NBA 2K26 features many legends from the basketball world who you can still play with. This includes Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, Allen Iverson, etc. However, the jury is still out on the fact that whether these stars have been rated accurately in the game. Here are 10 NBA legends who deserve a better rating in the game, considering their lasting legacy and impact on the game over the years.

NBA 2K26: Players Who Could Have Been Rated Better

LeBron James

It is no surprise that first on this list is LeBron James. Although he is rated at a whopping 94, many fans believe that he should have been rated even higher due to his status relative to all-time greats like Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

Shaquille O’Neal

Shaquille O’Neal is another prominent name from the NBA world. Standing tall at 7’1”, Shaq can be seen in action when playing as Classic Lakers. Considering his best seasons, he definitely deserves to be rated at 99 OVR.

Dejounte Murray

An overall rating of 81 does not truly reflect Murray’s actual impact. The leadership qualities that he possess, blended with his elite playmaking alone, can change the tides of a game. His rating should have been around 84-87 in NBA 2K26.

Tracy McGrady

The all-time version of McGrady is rated at 95. However, for his scoring versatility and dominance, he should be rated around 87-98 in the game.

Grant Hill

If not impeded by the injuries that he suffered over the years, many believe that Grant Hill was on his way to becoming the next Jordan. 2K26 should represent his peak performance better, as it rates the all-time version of Grant with the Detroit Pistons at just 93.

Magic Johnson

Available in the Classic Lakers roster, Magic Johnson is rated at 99 OVR. While this is a lot, the individual stats for other metrics are on the lower side. His rebounding capabilities must certainly be higher than 82, and his defending (85) also deserves a better score.

Allen Iverson

Having played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Iverson’s rating of 96 is surely controversial. His defence and efficiency ratings could be higher, which in turn would reflect his actual influence on the court.

Wilt Chamberlain

While Wilt holds one of the highest ratings at 99 OVR, the stats poorly depict his playmaking skills. Rated at just 59, this particular stat could have been much higher, around 65-68.

Paul Pierce

Available in the all-time version of the Boston Celtics, Pierce’s rating of 94 poorly showcases his MVP finals and clutch performances. Considering his all-around offensive brilliance, inside shooting and rebound stats are not accurate.
