1) ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDMR 32” OLED Gaming Monitor

Price: $1,299

The ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDMR is one of the best 4K OLED monitors money can buy. It is equipped with a top-notch Quantum Dot OLED panel to deliver the ultimate image quality. For those unaware, QD-OLED has a separate Quantum dot layer merged into the OLED display, which boosts the brightness and reduces reflections.

This allows OLED monitors to achieve much higher brightness without causing burn-in. There’s also a large heatsink that will soak up the heat from the panel, keeping it safe.

It also has all the other usual benefits, including 99% DCI-P3, USB-C 90W, 240Hz refresh rate, and a lot more. What makes the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDMR truly unique is the inclusion of a proximity sensor, which can detect when you get away from the monitor and turn off the display.

Price: $849.99

The MSI MAG 321UPX is another QD-OLED monitor that uses a similar panel as the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDMR, but at a much cheaper price. Therefore, it also has the same great 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03 instant response time, and more. The panel is protected from overheating due to the inclusion of a large heatsink. Also, MSI included clever pixel shift and black border bar detection.

The former feature shifts each pixel on a regular interval, while the latter decreases the brightness of the pixels near all four borders to prevent logo burn-in from static images. All in all, you get a flagship-level OLED monitor without the flagship price tag. The only caveat is that it doesn’t have the proximity sensor that the ASUS monitor does.

Price: $679.99

The Dell S3225QC is a budget QD-OLED gaming monitor that gets all the basics right and is available for a cheap price of $679.99 only. Such low prices come with some downsides. The major downside is its 120Hz refresh rate, which is half of what the above OLED monitors deliver. However, the panel itself is quite good with 99% DCI-P3 color gamut and 0.3ms instant response times.

Moreover, the panel features both Dolby Vision and TrueBlack 400 certifications. Essentially, you will get a fantastic viewing experience. The excellent picture quality of this monitor is backed by a high-end surround sound system. There are five speakers with an output of 5W each. This leads to a powerful 25W speaker system, which will blow your mind.

Price: $549

If you want something even more affordable, this Redragon Mini-LED gaming monitor can be your perfect choice. It features an LCD panel instead of OLED, which is why the price is low, but it is anything but ordinary.

The LCD panel used here is Mini-LED IPS, which is essentially a combination of an IPS panel with a Mini-LED backlighting system instead of the traditional edge-lit system. This combination provides a high color gamut with extremely high brightness and inky black levels.

Essentially, you get an OLED-like panel without its burn-in weakness. Moreover, the Mini-LED backlighting system has 2304 zones, so you won’t notice any blooming around bright objects. This makes it one of the best 4K monitors you can buy in this price bracket.

5) KTC 27″ Mini-LED Gaming Monitor

Price: $499.99

This is the cheapest 4K monitor on this list, yet it packs a whole lot of punch. It features a Mini-LED IPS panel just like the other monitor. Therefore, it has great colors, brightness, contrast, black levels, and more. In fact, it features DisplayHDR 1400 certification, so watching HDR content on this monitor will be a pleasure.

However, there’s a caveat. The Mini-LED backlighting system has only 1152 zones, which will lead to some level of blooming around small objects on screen, such as subtitles or stars in a dark sky. The Redragon monitor above didn’t have this issue since it had double the number of LED zones, but it was also a bit more costly.

Final Thoughts

The ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDMR and MSI MAG 321UPX are obviously the best 4K OLED monitors on this list. However, if you want OLED without burning a hole in your wallet, then the Dell S3225QC is also a great option, but not for true competitive gamers. If you want a truly affordable 4K monitor without compromising on the visual quality, then the Redragon 27″ Mini-LED gaming monitor can be the perfect alternative.

The Redragon 27″ Mini-LED monitor doesn’t have an OLED panel, but the image quality is just as good due to the use of a Mini-LED panel with a high-end backlighting system.
