The RTX 4070 Laptop GPU comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory and is very competent when it comes to gaming. With this GPU, you can play modern-day AAA titles at medium settings with upscaling and get an enjoyable gaming experience. Below are a few game choices that you should try out.

1. Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition

In terms of optimization and how RT should be implemented, Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition sets a perfect example, even with 8GB GPUs. Playing with RT and at high settings is highly plausible. This is something long gone with the 2025 titles. That said, the RTX 4070 mobile iteration is plenty powerful for a pleasant experience, and you can expect the framerate, with the DLSS upscaler, to be around 70-75 FPS at medium-high settings.

2. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

If you like a vast, open-world, grindy, well-optimized RPG game, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with high settings, will be an excellent experience. If your laptop screen features a 1440p display, you too can enjoy the game. You should use Lossless Scaling for frame generation, or try out DLSS mods to upscale and use FG.

3. Resident Evil 4 (2023 Remake)

Resident Evil 4 remake represents Capcom’s excellent RE optimization for any GPU. The RTX 4070 mobile variant can easily drive the game at around 80FPS on high settings. Even if your display is 1440p, it shouldn’t be a problem. Lossless Scaling, DLSS mods, and plenty of other tools are available to help with performance enhancements.

4. Horizon Forbidden West

Sony’s port of Horizon Forbidden West on PC/Laptop hardware sets a benchmark for how PC ports should be done. Excellent Frame Generation implementation, as well as upscaling implementations like FSR and DLSS. VRAM consumption is also very well executed. At 1080p high settings, you can expect VRAM to be around 7GB, and at 1440p, medium settings will smoothly sail at 60+ FPS with VRAM usage staying at 7-7.5GB.

5. Control (2019)

Remedy’s control scheme was initially hefty on the CPU and GPU side of things, but over the years, the developers have polished the game in a way that it runs exceptionally well on mobile GPUs. Regardless of whether you play with RT or stick to rasterization, a 60+ frame rate is guaranteed, as long as you keep VRAM usage under check. If you enable Frame Generation alongside DLSS, the experience will be significantly improved.

Verdict

All of the games mentioned here will run flawlessly on the RTX 4070 mobile GPU. On certain games, such as Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, using features like DLSS and Frame Generation requires modding. For Metro Exodus Enhanced and the rest, stick to medium-high settings at 1080p native or 1440p with quality or balanced upscaling.
