5 Best optimized titles for your Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU, regardless of any TGP up to 170W or more.

The RTX 5080 laptop GPU is a high-end Blackwell laptop GPU that is powered by 16GB GDDR7 VRAM. The GPU has a near-identical core configuration to its desktop counterpart, but the drawback is the power headroom. A little bit of undervolting can squeeze out more performance, but below are a few games that are well-optimized, but GPU-heavy, for your high-end RTX 5080 laptop GPU.

1. Elden Ring (2022)

With mods that do not break the game, you can hit past the 60 FPS limit and move into the higher territory. The 5080 laptop GPU will face zero problems in playing the game at your laptop’s native render resolution. All those combos, dodges, and parries will be spot on, as the gameplay experience will be seamless. If you are going for the 60 FPS+ mod, ensure the in-game physics don’t break, and that’s it.
2. Warhammer: Space Marine 2

In terms of maxing out this incredibly well-optimized, yet GPU-heavy co-op shooter, it will be a piece of cake for the RTX 5080 mobile. High FPS, without frame generation, but with upscaling, not because the game’s framerates are low, but to clean up temporal issues within the game. That said, you will have a lot of fun when you are playing this fast-paced game with your friends.
3. Mafia: The Old Country

The game may run very poorly, but in terms of graphical fidelity and story-wise, it’s literally jaw-dropping. The 5080 has the power to play this game without running out of VRAM, and at high settings with the DLSS Transformer model, while keeping a good framerate. Except for the RTX 5090 and RTX 4090 mobile, achieving an experience like this, particularly with a desktop-class framerate, is challenging.
4. Civilization VI (2016)

Civilization VI is incredibly well optimized. If you are into strategy titles, you can easily play this game at 1440p maxed out settings. As for framerates, you can expect around 60-70 FPS. You can also give Civilization VII a shot, but that game isn’t that well optimized as of now.
5. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Oblivion Remastered was initially poorly optimized, but recent patches have mitigated most of the performance problems. You can either use Lumen or Hardware RT to enjoy the game. Just ensure to enable DLSS and that too with the latest Transformer model, which you can swap using DLSS Swapper, for better image quality, lesser VRAM usage, and better Frame Generation quality.
Verdict
All of the games mentioned here will run flawlessly on the RTX 5080 mobile GPU. You can also try almost all of the newly released or upcoming titles with this mobile GPU; the performance and VRAM offered are sufficient for now. In the future, if things get out of hand, then turn down the settings, or use a very aggressive upscaling, and you will be all good.
