Bought your new gaming PC and wondering which game to play? You’re in the right place. Here are some excellent titles to start your journey.

New PC gamers often get overwhelmed by the sheer number of games available on the market. If you ask a friend, they are likely to name titles such as GTA 5, Witcher 3, and others like them. While they are classics, there’s no doubt about that, but they are a bit dated in 2025. Newer games, released in the last five years, are also carving their names in their PC gaming history books. In this article, we are showcasing some of the best modern games you must play on your new gaming PC first.

What Are the Best Games To Play on Your New PC?
1) Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based action RPG with real-time mechanics and elements. The game places a strong emphasis on its gameplay mechanics and story. In fact, the story and the storytelling in this title are absolutely brilliant. Clair Obscur is set in a fantasy world called Lumiere, which is controlled by Paintress, who is also the main villain. In this land, the Paintress obliterates the people when they attain a certain age using Gommage, a dark ritual. You will be put in the shoes of Gustave, Maelle, Lune, and Sciel, who must journey across the land to seek out and destroy the Paintress and break the never-ending chain of annihilation.
2) Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is an action RPG title that continues the story of Henry from the first game, which is an underrated game. You will play as Henry once again in 15th-century Bohemia. You are in the midst of a civil war while going through life seeking revenge and setting vendettas.
The gameplay mechanics of the game are even more realistic with extensive combat mechanics, skill sets, and new weapons. The game has a total of two maps, and each of them is just as big as the one in the first game.
3) Black Myth Wukong

Black Myth Wukong is an action-adventure game where you follow the path of the monkey king called “The Destined One.” His name is Sun Wukong, hence the name of the game. He is born out of a stone and later gains incredible and superhuman strength, powers, and intelligence. Play this game to take a journey in the shoes of the Destined One, causing mayhem and trouble wherever he goes.
4) Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a critically acclaimed RPG title set in a fictional, futuristic, and dystopian world called Night City. You play as the character V, a mercenary whose life is flipped upside down when an experimental biochip implant goes wrong and introduces Johny Silverman, an augmented AI with an expiry date.
If V fails to get this chip out of them, they will die. Cyberpunk 2077 has 80+ hours of content for players to enjoy. There’s also a DLC called Phantom Liberty, which significantly expanded the story.
5) God of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok is an open-world action-adventure game that follows the journey of Kratos and his son, Atreus. The game begins right after the ending of the 2018 title, where Fimbulwinter sets in and Thor arrives at their home. The gameplay, story, and the deep lore of Norse mythology in God of War Ragnarok far exceed the first game in the series. Kratos will battle the gods, such as Thor, Odin, Heimdal, and others, in epic battles. There’s no game quite like it.
