Races in Umamusume: Pretty Derby take place over various distances, and running each meter drains the horse girls’ energy. A horse girl’s energy, or “health,” is determined by her Stamina stat.
Having high stamina is crucial for keeping up with the pack and beginning the last spurt as early as possible and at full throttle. Stamina recovery skills emerge as a crucial part of mid-to-long-distance events, allowing horse girls to replenish their energy reserves mid-race.

5) Triple 7s

‘Triple 7s’ slightly recovers stamina when there are 777 meters left in the race. Since even the shortest races in the game are 1000 meters, recovering stamina at 777 meters ensures the skill’s effect is not wasted. While the skill may trigger at the right moment, it is far less cost-effective than a rare skill, and should only be learnt if better options aren’t available.
4) Gourmand (Pace Chaser)

A rare skill exclusive to Pace Chasers, ‘Gourmand’ recovers endurance mid-race. Its timing and effectiveness are both top-tier, but its SP (Skill Point) cost is on the more expensive side. The best time to use it is with skill hints from SSR Special Week (Speed).

3) Adrenaline Rush (Long)

‘Adrenaline Rush’ is a rare skill exclusive to Long races. It has a low cost and is only unlocked after gaining skill hints from SSR Rice Shower’s chain event. SSR Rice Shower is available for essentially free after watching chapter 2 of the main story. You can easily uncap her twice by heading to the Shop > Club Point Exchange. There, purchase her Support Card for 100 Club points once, and then for 900 Club Points the second time.

2) Breath of Fresh Air

‘Breath of Fresh Air’ is available to all running styles and race styles, but is best used in Medium or Long events. The rare skill recovers stamina on any straight section of the race. Most longer races do not start on a straight, lowering the chances for an early activation. Nevertheless, this uncertainty keeps ‘Breath of Fresh Air’ from the number one spot.

An almost essential rare skill for competitive builds in Long races, ‘Swinging Maestro’ recovers stamina on a corner. Whether the skill activates on the first, second, or final corner, it will still provide substantial value. This foolproof activation method and comparatively low cost earn ‘Swinging Maestro’ the title of “Best Stamina Skill in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.”
