Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has many ways of farming Gil, the game’s primary currency. Here are some of the best tips we know.
When you start playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you will see a lack of sources to earn Gils. Gil is the primary currency in the game for buying items, weapons, and various services essential to your journey.
Various shops scattered across the world of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth offer unique wares, while some merchants may also sell rare and powerful items at higher prices. Managing Gil wisely is crucial early in the game, as upgrading equipment or unlocking certain features often requires a significant amount of investment.
Gil can be used to buy useful items such as potions, ethers, and other types of consumables used in combat. Gil can also be used for playing various kinds of minigames throughout the game for entertainment. One example of such a place can be the Gold Saucer.
Throughout playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth you might find many sources to earn Gil. However, if you want to farm Gil quickly, here are some methods. Any methods we mention here might not be that useful to you, depending on your gameplay focus. However, we still suggest you check out the list.
Note: The list below is not ranked in any order
1. Gil Plus Materia
Gil Plus Materia can be used to gain double Gils from every winning battle. You can buy Gil Plus Materia from the Gold Saucer for 800 GP and slot it into any weapon of your choice.
Many areas in the game have enemies that drop high amounts of Gil after being defeated. This is a nice and simple way to boost your Gil farming rate in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
2. Steal Materia
Steal Materia in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth provides you with the command “Steal” which when used in battle gives you a chance to steal an item from the enemy. Some enemies have valuable items you can steal from them.
You can obtain Steal Materia for 500 Gil per material from any shop selling Materia after Mythril Mine. A playable character Yuffie joins your party with a Steal Materia already equipped.
3. Materia Farming
In Chapter 10 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Time Materia can be bought for 5000 Gil each. It can be bought from every shop that will sell Materia. You can buy as much Time Materia as you want from the vendors as they don’t have a finite stock. This Materia helps you in combat by giving access to time-based spells.
But the main point of buying Time Materia is not just to use them for combat. You can equip them and do the leveling path in the Southern Gongaga which can help you to master the Materia to level 3. You can then sell the Mastered Materia for a much larger amount of Gil compared to what you bought them for.
You’ll be in a lot of fights in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Wherever you go in the game at any given point during your playthrough, there will always be enemies to fight. With the fun combat mechanics the game offers, fighting enemies will not get boring any time soon.
All this fighting earns you quite a huge amount of Gil, but they also earn you various items. These can range from simple consumables to rare treasures. Most of these items quickly reach the max stack limit. So, you can easily farm Gil by constantly selling the extra items. There is no point in hoarding items when you can increase your Gils.
5. Item Transmuter
Players can use the Item Transmuter very early in the game. This is a method through which you can craft various items such as potions, ethers, and cushions. The useful part of the Item Transmuter is that low-level items can be used to craft powerful high-level items.
You can sell these high-level items for a much higher price. Item Transmuting is suggested if you want to farm Gils quickly, as spending a little time to transmute can earn you a significant amount of Gil.
