5. Killing Floor 3
If you are a fan of horde shooters and gruesome monsters, then Killing Floor 3 is going to be the game for you. It is the latest installment in the long-running horror franchise Killing Floor. And some reports suggest it will release in Early Access sometime around March 25, 2025. We have seen a trailer for it in the 2024 Game Awards. And the gameplay looks to be an interesting mix of Doom and CoD Zombies, with some cool monsters.
Additionally, it is a co-op experience, so in the game, you and your friends will be shooting your way out of hordes of mutated monsters named ZED. The game’s new enemy AI, bosses, and the gore element makes it to be a fun time.
4. Reanimal
Tarsier Studios Reanimal is a new IP in the horror genre. The developers are known in the gaming community for their Little Nightmares titles. And we have to say that Reanimal does look a bit similar to Tarsier’s previous works. You and your friend will take control of two children in the game, and in true Tarsier fashion, will have to go through an eerie world with an intense atmosphere and many terrifying creatures.
Additionally, it is confirmed to be a shared screen local co-op game. So, if you are looking for a horror game to play with your friends or family, then you should keep an eye out for Reanimal.
3. Dying Light: The Beast
Most fans of the horror genre are already familiar with the Dying Light franchise. The first game in the series brought something completely new to the table by mixing parkour elements with a classic zombie apocalypse setting. However, the developers have confirmed that Dying Light: The Beast is going to be a standalone title in the series. Techland released the game’s announcement trailer in August last year, and we have to say that it looks to be a significant upgrade to its predecessors.
However, that does not mean that they have deviated too much from the formula, because Dying Light: The Beast will have the signature volatiles, a day-night cycle, and parkour, with more emphasis on gunplay. The developers haven’t announced a release date for the game yet. But if you like the idea of climbing rooftops and drop-kicking zombies, Dying Light: The Beast is the game you should be excited for.
2. Directive 8020
Directive 8020 is the latest addition in The Dark Pictures Anthology Series. This franchise is a bit different from the other games in the list. It is known for its interactive gameplay and emphasis on the choices you make in the game. Unlike previous titles, Directive 8020 is going to be a sci-fi themed horror game that seems to be inspired by Ridley Scott’s iconic movie, Alien.
A new gameplay trailer for the title was revealed in Sony’s State of Play 2025 that gave us some glimpses of the incredible visuals and possible creatures who will be terrorizing you through your playthrough. Overall, Directive 8020 is shaping up to be another classic IP in the horror genre by Supermassive Games.

In the number one spot, we have arguably the most anticipated horror game in recent years, Silent Hill: Townfall. The developers have confirmed that it will be a new addition to the fan-favorite Silent Hill franchise, and if you like horror games that leave you enshrouded in mystery and let you interpret their story to your liking, then Silent Hill: Townfall will suit your taste.
Additionally, Konami is keeping the game’s details close to its chest and revealed little in the teaser trailer released back in 2022. Unfortunately, we still don’t have a confirmed release date for the game, and players will have to wait for further announcements to know more about Silent Hill: Townfall.
