Kick has become one of the most popular streaming platforms in recent times and has seen a number of streamer controversies in 2024.
Kick, a streaming platform owned by Stake, has seen major growth in 2024 with a bunch of well-known streamers joining the platform. It has some of the biggest streamers in the industry like xQc, Adin Ross, and YourRage. It has become Twitch’s biggest competitor with many streamers jumping ship to Kick.
However, Kick has seen a decent amount of controversies that rose in 2024. Here are a few streamer controversies that took place on the platform.
1) Vitaly Banned From Kick Again
Vitaly is one of the most popular and controversial streamers on the platform. His famous series named “Catching A Predator” aims to expose suspected criminals by staging confrontations. One of the streams involved meeting a suspected predator and it ended up being controversial because the alleged predator stripped off his clothes on livestream.
Although Kick allows content that is 18+, it has strict guidelines against explicit nudity. As Vitaly’s stream violated the guidelines, he was banned from the platform a second time in November.
2) Streamer Adin Ross and Playboi Carty Feud
Adin Ross is one of the most followed and watched streamers on Kick. In February 2024 he was set to host one of his most anticipated streams in collaboration with Plaboi Carty. However, just a few minutes into the broadcast the rapper left and asked for a large, pre-agreed sum.
Adin later disclosed that Playboi Carti’s team had a massive dispute with Adin’s team, off camera. The rapper was demanding the remaining amount which was $2 million though he didn’t even complete the stream.
3) HeelMike and Zerkha Banned Permanently
HeelMike and Zerkha faced permanent Kick bans in early 2024. The two were streaming together and engaged in questionable actions with underaged individuals. Kick later revealed the reason behind the ban, citing “Underage Endangerment” during the live stream.
However, Zherka took to social media to justify their actions stating that they were tricked into believing that the individuals were actually adults.
4) Streamer Fousey Banned Following Altercation During Livestream
During his Australia-based IRL stream, Fousey allegedly attacked his manager and used homophobic slurs, including the word “f*ck.” A few days before the ban, Fousey had signed an exclusive deal with Kick which did not allow him to switch platforms either.
He addressed his viewers and mentioned that the ban wasn’t solely because of the punch, saying,
“Not even 48 hours into my 24/7 30 days, and Kick bans me… I can’t go to Twitch to continue. I don’t think they banned me because of the punch… if we don’t ban him and keep him quiet right now, he’s gonna expose all of us.”
5) xQc and Kai Cenat Controversy
Kick streamer Felix “xQc” recently addressed his public feud with fellow streamer Kai Cenat, describing the situation as a misunderstanding where “nobody’s wrong.” The feud started on December 21, 2024, when Kai called xQc out for bringing up the American streamer during his conversations again and again and saying that Kai relies on celebrity collaborations.
When Kai called out xQc for showing off his wealth, he said that his net worth surpassed that of Cenat’s group AMP. However, on December 22, 2024, xQc took to a live stream to mention that “nobody’s wrong” in this situation.
