Fighting hard bosses is one of the main selling points of Hollow Knight: Silksong, and it does not disappoint in that regard. There are over 40 bosses you can face in the game (for now), and many of these can give players a run for their money.

However, some of the early game bosses might feel harder because you do not have the necessary Tools to deal with them. This list will break down five of the hardest bosses you can face in Hollow Knight: Silksong.

(Note: This list does take run back and point in time where you fight the boss into account.)

This list of the hardest bosses in no particular order is:

  • Savage Beastfly
  • Last Judge
  • Skarrsinger Karmelita
  • First Sinner
  • Lost Lace

1. Savage Beastfly

This flying boss definitely gave a lot of trouble to players during the mid-game. This difficulty is well placed, as the boss is hiding the Beast Crest, which can become extremely strong under the right circumstances.

This boss is one of the first ones you might encounter that summons enemies to aid in battle. However, apart from its additions, the Beastfly itself does not pose too much of a challenge. Once you can get the boss to kill its minions, you will likely sail smoothly in this fight.

2. Last Judge

This is one of the first obstacles that players encounter in the late parts of Act 1. You will likely face difficulties for two reasons:

  • The run back to get to the boss feels very hard, with lots of enemies who can take a swipe at Hornet.
  • The boss itself is decently tough. However, the dying attack catches many players off guard, leading to a guaranteed death and reset.

Without the run back and dying explosion (which is a bit funny), this boss would be much more manageable. However, until then, the Last Judge will likely trouble Silksong players for a long time.

3. Skarrsinger Karmelita

Karmelita doesn’t have a hard run back. However, this boss more than makes up for it by making the fight itself extremely hard. She summons creatures before the fight to test you, and jumps in afterwards.

Her attacks are quite similar before they happen, which makes predicting her moves difficult. She can jump, use melee slashes and ranged spikes. However, this all gets amped up to the max during her final phase, where she uses attack after attack in rapid succession. You will need to time your attacks carefully if you want to survive against this deadly foe.

4. First Sinner

The First Sinner can also be quite difficult due to being extremely fast. This boss teleports around every second it can get. Due to this, chances are likely that you are not getting more than one or two attacks in before it is gone.

On top of this, the second phase of the boss fight takes everything happening in the first phase and makes it harder and faster. The teleports are more frequent, there are more AOE attacks (Area of effect) and landing hits is a challenge.

5. Lost Lace

The final boss of the true ending was bound to make the list. Lace keeps the basic movements of her previous fights, but adds the Void to all of her attacks. Her reach is further, and her attacks are more frequent and deadlier.

Her second phase ramps things up even further, as she starts filling the screen with attacks. The Void restricts your movement on the ground, while Lace attacks from the air. This final boss will surely keep you on your toes.

Those were five of the hardest bosses you can face in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
