Summer Game Fest 2025 is upon us and is full of exciting game reveals. The action-packed two-hour show had several highlights like a new Resident Evil game and a new look at the body horror game, Ill. As there were a myriad of announcements, we’ve put together our personal favorites.

Resident Evil Requiem – a Possible Sequel to RE: Outbreak?

The ninth mainline Resident Evil game is titled Resident Evil: Requiem. The game stars Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, who first appeared in RE: Outbreak. The game has a release date of February 27, 2026, and will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Resident Evil: Requiem is a shift in the series and will feature “high-stakes cinematic action”. We’re yet to see actual gameplay, but we already anticipate it to be refreshing.

Mundfish Announces Atomic Heart 2 and the Cube

Mundfish, the developer behind the absurd sci-fi sleeper hit, Atomic Heart, has announced its sequel. The Cyprus-based studio also revealed a mysterious MMO RPG set in the same universe known as The Cube. The Atomic Heart sequel and its spin-off, The Cube, will arrive on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in the near future. There’s more to wait for as the original Atomic Heart still has a rumoured DLC offering reportedly in development.

Dying Light: The Beast Gets a Gameplay Trailer

Dying Light: The Beast features the return of Kyle Crane, the original game’s protagonist. The new standalone Dying Light: The Beast will release on August 22, 2025. Players who already own Dying Light 2: Ultimate Edition will get The Beast at no additional cost. As the game was originally supposed to be a DLC, it will now be its own standalone game. The narrative features Kyle Crane, who has escaped and is out for revenge with a strange power waiting to burst out of him.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets New Combat Trailer

The new Onimusha game, titled Way of the Sword, got a gameplay trailer at Summer Game Fest. The trailer features the developer’s take on Miyamoto Musashi, who must slash his way through a Kyoto infested by the Malice. The trailer also showcases fearsome new enemies and stunning dark fantasy environments. Onimusha: The Way of the Sword is arriving on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2026. Capcom recently released the remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny for PC and consoles. 

Scott Pilgrim EX From Original Creator Bryan Lee o’ Malley Revealed

Tribute Games, the developer of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, has announced Scott Pilgrim X. The character’s creator, Bryan Lee O’ Malley, collaborates to make the game. Scott Pilgrim EX takes the series back to its classic co-op brawler roots. They expect to release the title in 2026 for PC, current gen and last gen consoles.
