Grounded 2 is missing many major features found in the prequel. Here are some that might be added in the future.

Grounded 2 is currently in early access, with many features planned for future updates. However, fans have noticed the absence of some key features from the prequel. Looking at the Grounded 2 roadmap, some features are likely to return. Nevertheless, there has been no update from the developers on others.
To help you learn about some, here are five major features in Grounded that are not yet in Grounded 2.

5 Major Features That Are Yet To Come in Grounded 2
Here’s a list of the five major features from the previous game:
Ziplines

Ziplines in Grounded 1 are the best method to travel long distances. There is no limit on how long ziplines can be, so players can travel across the map, saving minutes of traversing. Grounded 2 introduced the Buggy system, which the developers want to be the main focus for transportation right now. Therefore, it is doubtful that ziplines will make a return anytime soon.
Underwater Exploration

Grounded 1 features the Pond area, a prominent underwater location with a unique ecosystem. However, Grounded 2 does not yet have a water area. However, the game’s roadmap teases the upcoming waterwork zone, clearly stating the addition of water creatures and buggies. From the developer’s teased map, the water area in Grounded 2 appears to be much larger than the Pond in the prequel.
Replayable Bosses

Grounded 1 is famous for challenging boss fights, like the Hedge Broodmother and Wasp Queen. Additionally, these bosses are infinitely replayable using craftable lures. Grounded 2 currently only has one non-repeatable boss fight that occurs at the end of Act 1. However, the roadmap shows that the Fall update is going to introduce AXL, who is an escaped tarantula.
With the addition of AXL, players will have a challenge mode to test different builds or practice their combat skills on.
Different Damage Types

Currently, weapons in Grounded 2 lack upgrades beyond level four. In Grounded 1, once you upgrade a basic weapon to Level 5, you can change its element to either Fresh, Spicy, Sour, or Salty. Each creature has a certain type of weakness, which you can exploit using the damage type it is weak to. Grounded 2 currently does not feature any damage type, despite having elemental weapons like Ice Sickles and Coaltana.
With the addition of future content, we might be able to see new damage types alongside the return of old ones as more creatures get added to the game.
Hotbar Navigation

Grounded 2 features a static hotbar with fixed slots for weapons, consumables, and other items. This is quite different from Grounded 1, where there are three separate dynamic hotbars that players can switch between anytime during the playthrough. Players are displeased by this change, as easy hotbar navigation is a popular quality-of-life feature in the prequel.
While the game is in early access, it is entirely possible for developers to change how the hotbar works depending on player feedback.
