Five Interesting Mysteries To Uncover in Monster Hunter Wilds at Launch

1. Is Poogie in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Poogie has become one of the most iconic personalities in the Monster Hunter franchise. This adorable mascot pig is often seen wandering around the hub area in other titles. Players have long enjoyed petting and dressing up this beloved creature. Without our customizable little friend, I could say that Monster Hunter Wilds would feel incomplete.

However, Capcom has yet to officially confirm the arrival of Poogie in the upcoming open-world action RPG title. Given how deeply ingrained Poogie is in the franchise, we can only hope for its return, possibly with new interactions and cosmetics.

2. What Role Does Arkveld Play in the Story?

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding the story of Monster Hunter Wilds is Arkveld, the new flagship monster. Unlike other flagships, this creature seems to play a bigger role in the game’s narrative. In fact, some community speculation claims that Arkveld might have a symbiotic or even antagonistic relationship with the world’s balance. This is similar to the likes of Safi’jiiva or Gore Magala from previous titles.

Some speculate that it simply is in an “enraged mode.” Meanwhile, others claim that this phenomenon may be connected to Arkveld, the flagship monster of the game.

4. Is Lagiacrus in the Base Game?

Few monsters have been as highly requested as Lagiacrus, the leviathan that captured players’ hearts in Monster Hunter 3. The creature was absent in Monster Hunter World due to animation issues.

However, with Monster Hunter Wilds boasting a more open-world and expansive environment, will it be possible for the fan-favorite leviathan to make a comeback? In the trailer, Nata, one of the new characters, remarks, “I don’t know which one of us is worse,” as the camera lingers on Arkveld. This line hints at a deeper narrative. The story of the game might challenge the traditional perception of hunters as righteous protectors. Could there be another reason for Arkveld’s hostility? Perhaps we, the hunters, are misinterpreting its actions. Maybe Arkveld is not merely a threat but a guardian of something greater, or our presence is unknowingly disrupting the ecosystem in ways we have yet to understand.

For now, there are more questions than answers. However, this only makes it even more tempting to try the game when it finally arrives.
