1. Hollow Knight: Silksong
After years of waiting, the much-anticipated sequel to Hollow Knight is almost here. Its development was a long waiting period, made even longer by the absence of frequent updates. But the wait is over at last, and the game is almost here. Silksong is the most wishlisted game on Steam. This should be enough to indicate just how anticipated this game truly is. Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released on September 4, 2025.
2. Dying Light: The Beast
The Dying Light series is getting its fifth game, and this one’s looking to be one hell of a time. Dying Light: The Beast was originally supposed to be a DLC for Dying Light 2 before being expanded into a standalone. The Beast brings back all of the old features that made Dying Light so beloved. Hordes of grotesque and terrifying zombies, outlandish parkour maneuvers, and so on. Additionally, it also brings back the series’ first protagonist, Kyle Crane. The game will be releasing on September 19, 2025, so mark your calendars and get ready to smash some zombies.
3. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
CrossWorlds is not the first time the Sonic franchise has dipped its toes into racing. In fact, it’s closer to the tenth. But there is something that sets CrossWorlds apart from the many Sonic Racing games in the past. And that would be its many crossover characters.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is crossing over with many, many franchises. Some of the guest characters that will be available in this game include Joker from Persona 5, Steve and Alex from Minecraft, SpongeBob, Patrick, and Hatsune Miku of all people. Crossroads will be hitting shelves on September 25, 2025.
4. EA Sports FC 26
The FIFA games (and EAFC after that) has been a polarizing series. There have been hits and misses over the long history of the games. Fortunately, EA Sports FC 26 is looking like the former. With EA adding many features that fans have been requesting for a while, the game will likely be an unforgettable experience. EA Sport FC 26 will be releasing on September 26, 2025.
5. Borderlands 4
The Borderlands series is getting its fifth mainline game after nearly six years on the dot. The previous games in the series have all been very well received and massively popular, so it’s little wonder that Borderlands 4 is one of the most wishlisted games on Steam. The game’s release date is set for September 12, 2025.
