The PS2 and PS3 generations produced some of the best games that felt ahead of time. This article will look at five such games that deserve a remake.

The era of PlayStation 2 and 3 created some of the best games of all time. Almost every game used to come up with new mechanics and fresh stories. Even sequels used to have different vibes when compared to their predecessors. No game can beat the feeling of becoming the Most Wanted Racer of Rockport City or completing the GTA San Andreas campaign.
The list is enormous, and to be fair, almost every game deserves a remake using the latest game engines and techniques. However, we’ll restrict ourselves to five PS2/PS3 games that deserve a remake.
PS2/PS3 Games That Deserve a Remake
1) Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening

The third installment in the Devil May Cry series, Devil May Cry 3, is what made Dante everyone’s favorite demon hunter. Developed by Capcom and released in 2005, it is a hack-and-slash game where our beloved Dante kills demons and tries to stop his brother Vergil from opening a portal to the Demon World. Devil May Cry 3 has a very intriguing story blended with top-notch combat, which is the main highlight of this game. Players can use different weapons to build up the combo.
Capcom developed the RE Engine, which powers Resident Evil 4 Remake and other games. The developer can use the same engine to remake this goated game.

2) God of War 2 (2007)

Developed by Santa Monica Studio, God of War 2 follows the story of Kratos, a Spartan. Kratos was known as the ‘Ghost of Sparta,’ and after killing Ares, he became the new ‘God of War.’ In God of War 2, Zeus betrays Kratos by stealing his power, so he goes on a journey to regain it. The whole journey features action and engaging puzzles.
While the team has continued the series following a huge time jump with an aged Kratos, revisiting the ruthless version that went on a ‘god-killing’ rampage will definitely break the internet. Especially after the glimpse we got in the Valhalla DLC, which showed the unexplored potential of the OG Kratos when it comes to the details. Santa Monica Studios could use this opportunity wisely as the soft reboot has pulled in a lot of new players who’ll be eager to try the classics and learn the history of the legendary God of War.
3) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Uncharted is a banger of a franchise developed by Naughty Dog and Bluepoint Games. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is one of the highest-rated games ever created for PlayStation 3. The story follows Nathan Drake and his friends as they search for the Cintamani Stone and Shambala. However, the journey is not a pleasant one because Zoran Lazarevic, a war criminal, is trying to stop him. The game has a competitive and co-op multiplayer mode aside from the main campaign.

4) Infamous

Infamous is a PlayStation 3 title developed by Sucker Punch Productions. It is an open-world, action-adventure game filled with superpowers. The main protagonist, Cole MacGrath, is superhuman, and he uses his powers to fight Kessler, who controls a secret society, First Sons. Moreover, the world of Infamous is massive, and Cole uses his superpowers to traverse smoothly. Sucker Punch has been developing many graphically advanced games, and Infamous could use this technology for a remake.
5) Heavenly Sword

Heavenly Sword is another hack-and-slash game developed by Ninja Theory. This game follows the story of Nariko, who fights King Bohan, an evil ruler. Heavenly Sword has some very cool moves and finishers as well as a ton of bosses. There are many quick time events that keep the game engaging. Ninja Theory could use the latest game engine to remake this heavenly game to revive the hack-and-slash genre in today’s world.
