The release date of the PlayStation 5 version of Kuro Games’s open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves coincides with its Version 2.0 launch.
Wuthering Waves, a free-to-play open-world action RPG by Kuro Games, launched for PC, iOS, and Android on May 22, 2024. Recently, the developers announced the PS5 release date for Wuthering Waves. The PlayStation 5 version of the RPG is scheduled for January 2, 2025.
The PS5 release date coincides with the Version 2.0 launch of the game, with the introduction of a new region called Rinascita. Additionally, it has been announced that cross-progression will be available across all platforms, allowing players to sync and share their data across PC, mobile, and PS5.
Pre-Orders Are Available for Wuthering Waves on PS5
Similar to the PC and mobile versions, Wuthering Waves is launching as a free-to-play game on PS5 on January 2, 2025. However, a pre-order bundle, known as the Awakening Bundle, is available for PlayStation 5. It is priced at $9.99 on the PlayStation store.

The Awakening Bundle contains the following items, which can be claimed upon the first login:

Pre-ordering the Awakening Bundle before the release date rewards the following bonus items:

Set in a post-apocalyptic open world, the free-to-play game has gacha mechanics similar to contemporary titles such as Genshin Impact. Although the RPG stumbled with a number of bugs and issues at launch, it received positive criticism for its combat system, open world, and movement mechanics.
Moreover, Wuthering Waves earned multiple accolades, including the Galaxy Award and Pocket Gamer Mobile Games Awards, and was nominated for Best Mobile Game at TGA 24.
