Daffodils in Stardew Valley are one of the spring season flowers you can forage in the wild. Moreover, you can also find one by planting Spring Seeds or buying them in the general store. This makes it one of the more common flowers you can obtain in the game.

It has a plethora of uses e.g. gifting to villagers or crafting Wild Seeds. Considering how it only blooms during a specific season, it can be an issue if you miss the timing. In that case, you’ll have to wait a whole cycle of a year.

This guide will show you where to get Daffodils in Stardew Valley and its purpose in the game.

How To Get Daffodils in Stardew Valley

There are multiple ways to get Daffodils in Stardew Valley. The best ones are through foraging and by planting Spring Seeds. However, keep in mind that you can only grow or find this type of flower during the Spring Season. Once a new season starts, you’ll have to wait until next year to find one.

Foraging Daffodils

Here are the areas where you will likely find and forage some Daffodils in Stardew Valley:

  • Pelican Town: Roam around the town and you are likely to find one. I found one on my playthrough in the playground.
  • Bus Stop – The area around the bus stop can spawn a Daffodil.
  • Railroad – This area won’t be accessible during the early stages of your playthrough. Once you unlock it, you can check for Daffodils here. However, by this point, you’ll likely have easier ways to obtain the flowers.
  • Trash Cans—You can randomly find them by rummaging through trash cans. However, don’t let any of the townsfolk see you do it, or you might lose friendship points. Most NPCs don’t like you opening their trash cans.

Planting Wild Seeds

You can grow your own Daffodils by crafting spring seeds in Stardew Valley. The recipe requires at least one of each ingredient to craft Spring Seeds:

  • Wild Horseradish
  • Leek
  • Dandelion
  • Daffodil

You can craft one by heading to your inventory and selecting the crafting option. You can get 10 Wild Seeds per craft. These seeds have a chance to grow into a Daffodil. This is a good way to get more Daffodils if you already have one.

Desert Festival

You can buy up to five Daffodils during the Desert Festival at Evelyn’s Shop for 15 Calico Eggs. The festival is held every 15th, 16th, and 17th, of Spring.

Buying From Pierre’s General Store

You can also buy one from Pierre’s General Store in the Pelican town square. During the Spring Season, you can buy one daffodil for 60 Gold.

Statue of Endless Fortune

This late-game furniture can be purchased for 1 million gold from the shady male NPC in the Casino. You can claim one gift or random item each day. It is quite expensive but it can passively give you one daffodil once per year on Sandy’s birthday which is the 15th of Fall.

What Is the Use of Daffodil in Stardew Valley

If you are wondering what you can do with a Daffodil in Stardew Valley, check out the list below:

  • Gifting to NPCs
  • Tailoring
  • Quest Item

Aside from the ones listed, you can also consume the Daffodil. However, you don’t gain any energy or health from it. You’re better off keeping it for other uses.

More details about each purpose of Daffocil can be found below.

Gifting to NPCs

You can gift Daffodils to NPCs to improve your relationship with them. However, not every NPC appreciates the gesture. Here is a list of the names you should avoid giving this flower:

  • Dwarf
  • Elliot
  • Krobus
  • Leo
  • Sebastian
  • Shane
  • Willy
  • Wizard
  • Jodi

These NPCs dislike receiving Daffodils in Stardew Valley. As for Jodi, she really hates it, and it can worsen your relationship with her when you give her this flower. Make sure you don’t give these NPCs things they hate unless it is your goal to be hated by them.

Tailoring

You can use Daffodils for Tailoring to get Yellow dye for dye pots in Emly’s and Haley’s house. Moreover, you can craft a yellow jumper clothing in the sewing machine if you place this flower in the spool.

Quest Item

The Help Wanted board at Pierre’s General Store will occasionally feature a request for a Daffodil during the Spring season. Submitting one will reward you with 90 gold and 150 friendship points with the NPC who made the request.
